We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Teacher to plan and implement an ongoing program of activities that promote the social, emotional, cognitive and physical development of each child, in accordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning approach to teaching and learning

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Is responsible for the overall supervision and daily class functions of a group of children.
  • Observes all rules and regulations at Primrose School of Centerville and the local, state or national regulatory agencies pertaining to the health, safety and care of children.
  • Assesses each child's developmental needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Implements the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule in accordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning curriculum and programming.
  • Plans with a member of the Leadership Team the parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations.
  • Maintains an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore and make decisions with confidence.
  • Provides verbal recognition and acceptance to children while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children's behavior.
  • Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas and playgrounds.
  • Attends all required staff meetings, workshops and/or school functions.
  • Maintains overall professional personal appearance adhering to the guidelines offered in the Primrose School of Centerville Employee Handbook
  • Assists in other capacities that Director, or designee, determines is necessary.

Desired skills and experience:

  • Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency
  • Previous teaching or assistant teaching position in a licensed early childhood program preferred
  • Knowledge of the social, emotional and creative needs of young children
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations. For Infant and Young Toddler teachers, must be able to properly lift infants into and out of a crib.

The Cooking School Assistant position will require you to support the Instructor, team members and guests in a class setting in the preparation and execution of planned meals and curriculum. Major areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

Qualifications:

  • Must possess good attitude, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be able to comprehend the oral and verbal English language with the ability to read, measure and execute recipes.
  • Ability to read and write in English proficiently as well as having basic math skills and the ability to use a calculator.
  • Must be 18 years of age and must possess Tips and Food Handlers cards.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks. Must be physically able to lift and carry heavy trays and equipment as well as delicate china and glassware. Up to 50 lbs. Also, you must be physically able to walk without assistance on various surfaces for an extended period of time. This position requires manual dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, and climbing.

The pay scale for the Cooking School position is $9.25 per hour. The pay scale is the base salary or hourly wage range, exclusive of incentive pay such as commissions, piece rates, gratuities, and may include other factors, that Montage reasonably expects to pay for the position. The Snow Sport School Assistant is responsible for assisting the Snow Sport School Director.   • Supervises instructors, classes and private lessons and participating guests when the Snow Sport School Director is unavailable
  • Responsible for ensuring the classes and schedules are created and inputted into Whitepeaks software so that they can be booked and purchased online and in person
  • Assists the director to interview and hire all seasonal personnel
  • Assists the director in coordinating and conduct training sessions for both new and returning instructors, and support them on the slopes throughout the season
  • Assists the director in scheduling and assigning instructors according to anticipated lesson needs
  • Upholds the highest levels of guest safety on varied terrain in high altitude, with varying winter weather conditions in a fast paced, potentially high-pressure environment
  • Assists the director in ensuring that new hire paperwork is completed and submitted in a timely manner
  • May participate exit evaluations and rehire recommendations
  • Is able to safely navigate uneven and slippery terrain
  • All other job duties as assigned

Essential Instructor Duties and Responsibilities if asked to instruct

  • Clearly and accurately instructing assigned levels of skiing or snowboarding to students, both physically and verbally
  • Assisting guests to load and unload the chairlift
  • Communicating instructions and helping guests to their feet during a lesson
  • Working with guests of all ages and abilities
  • When working with children: Supervising children in class at all times; assisting at lunch and snack times; ensuring return of children to identified guardian
  • When working with children: Assisting in operational responsibilities of Ski & Snowboard programs including but not limited to registration process, directing guests to appropriate equipment fitting source, upkeep of outdoor teaching areas, and cleanliness of facilities
  • All other job duties as assigned

  • Can pass pre-employment screening

Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience with teaching/coaching/mentoring
  • Knowledge of local area/resort
  • Caring for and/or working with children ages 3+

Education: college degree preferred

Experience and/or Training: Previous supervisory and instructing or coaching experience

Licenses/Certificates: NA

Technology/Equipment: Computers, smart phones, tablets, Alpine Ski and Snowboard

  • Must have the ability to lift up to 50lbs and carry 50 yards
  • Must be able to work outside in temperatures below 32 degrees and up to (8) hours
  • Must be able to work in a standing position for up to (8) hours
  • Must have at least intermediate skiing / snowboarding ability
