Position Summary:
The Quality Assurance Nurse coordinates the collection, evaluation, and dissemination of performance data relative to specified quality improvement programs within the hospital. Directs and coordinates the quality and performance improvement program in the hospital, analyzes physician peer review, management of Peer Review Committee Meetings, which includes meeting preparation, setting agendas, writing minutes, drafting applicable letters for committee chairpersons, and ensuring all follow-up has been completed. Reviews all patient mortality and patient safety events aligning with medical staff departments, maintains documents and records according to state and federal health care standards. Accurately abstracts and analyzes data for Quality projects and any other assigned patient care outcome initiative. Prepares physician quality profiles and other physician-related performance improvement projects as assigned. Facilitates assigned process improvement initiatives by using problem-solving methodology and contributes to root cause analysis.
