The **Respiratory Clinical Educator (RCE)** leads and assists with the development, design, and implementation of the clinical orientation program for new employees; organizes and instructs in-services for staff. In addition, the Respiratory Clinical Educator provides clinical instruction for students enrolled into affiliate Respiratory Care programs and ongoing education for all staff. The Respiratory Clinical Educator may also perform the duties of bedside Respiratory Care practitioner when called upon to do so. The Respiratory Clinical Educator leads the process of continuing education and utilizes specialized knowledge and skills that focuses on patient centered care.
+ Key Responsibility Category: Professional Development - Demonstrates strong knowledge and skills of all theories and practices in the field of Respiratory Care. Leads education for staff (i.e., Respiratory Care Practitioners, Nurses, Physicians, etc.) on new equipment, guidelines and clinical standards. Works with leader to formulate plan for professional development. Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of clinical and scientific basis and effects of respiratory care procedures, equipment, and medications. Develops and implements action plans to achieve department educational goals.

Evaluates course content and material on a regular basis; obtains feedback from participants regarding each unit of instruction.

**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care or related science.
+ Minimum of 4 years of experience in the respiratory care field. Experience in planning and conducting educational sessions to promote staff development and student competence preferred.
+ Currently licensed as an active Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state of Georgia.
+ Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential by the National Board of Respiratory Care.

+ Must be comfortable with basic software programs
+ Ability to travel locally, regionally, and nationally
