Job Description

Supervise mental health clinicians including psychologists, mental health therapists, mental health therapist - associates, and parent partners to ensure the highest levels of quality, service, and cost-effective care are provided to patients and families. Develop and coordinate clinical orientation, continued competency, clinical standard work, and optimal professional development for the clinical team. Collaborate with service line director in the hiring process for mental health clinicians and communicate and coordinate the advancement of organizational and department/division goals. Represent mental health clinicians on the leadership team in the provision of overall direction for clinical practice in the department. Drive continuous performance improvement, quality improvement, and education and research efforts delivered by the mental health clinicians.
In this role you will supervise the partial hospitalization program.
Compensation: $126,291-186,899 base annually, plus 10% supervisor stipend
**Required Education and Experience**
PhD, PsyD, or Ed.D. in psychology, with specialization in child clinical psychology from an APA-accredited training program.
Completion of an APA-approved internship.
Formal post-doctoral training in an appropriate area of specialization.
Minimum of 2 years clinical experience post licensure.
May work evening & weekends as required.
**Required Credentials**
Licensed as a Psychologist in the State of Washington.
Prior to start of employment, must obtain, and maintain in good standing, medical or allied health professional staff privileges that are not limited, revoked, suspended, conditioned, or probationary, except for normal probationary periods due to initial appointment.
All medical and allied health professional staff members are provisional for the first year.
Any and all medical or allied health professional staff privileges at Children's will terminate automatically upon the termination of the individual's employment at Children's.
Termination of employment does not prohibit the individual from seeking medical or allied health professional staff privileges at Children's as a non-employee in any category for which the individual qualifies.

**Preferred**
Post-doctoral level experience in pediatric psychology.
Experience in a pediatric medical setting.
Clinical supervision experience.
Minority Mental Health Specialist designation.

Experience providing comprehensive intake evaluations.
Experience with evidence based practice.

This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.

**PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:**

**MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Assist the SAGE Program Manager in planning, implementation and coordination of long-term case management mental health services at the agency.
+ Support and train case management staff toward improved care standards and practice skills.
+ Coordinate with DESC programs to assure successful transition of consumers to long-term case management.
+ Coordinate and participate in psychiatric consultations, clinical supervisions, program meetings, and in-service training of mental health program staff; participate in clinical reviews and case conferences.
+ Coordinate schedule for all aspects of long-term mental health services, including scheduling of individual team members and coverage of office and drop-in center areas.

**About Mobile Rapid Response Crisis Team (MRRCT):**
The Mobile Rapid Response Crisis Team (MRRCT or "Meerkat") at DESC, is a county funded program responsible for addressing the imminent and emergent needs of community members in crisis, in the **_central region_** of King County primarily covering the entirety of Seattle. The DESC team has been providing mobile crisis response services to the community for well over a decade.
As a nonprofit with over 45 years of experience focused on serving our community's adults living with long histories of homelessness, behavioral health, and other disabling conditions, DESC is uniquely positioned to connect people in crisis to the important support and survival services they may need to overcome and prevent future occurrences of crisis, behavioral health distress, or other instabilities in our community.
**JOB DEFINITION:**
The Flex & Follow Up Crisis Outreach Supervisor is responsible for ensuring their team's timely, effective, and coordinated response into the field as they are deployed by either their MRRCT team in the field in need of support, or Crisis Connections directly. Shift Supervisors and the Flex & Follow Up Supervisor work alongside the staff they supervise providing real-time, on the ground supervision, coaching and guidance for how to resolve crisis situations their teams are responding to in the community. Supervisors have the responsibility of implementing the systems created by the MRRCT program leadership related to proper documentation standards, implementation and adherence to DESC policies and procedures, supervision and performance management of their team, and ensuring their team members participate in all relevant training and on-going education necessary.
As part of the MRRCT each supervisor will at times be responsible for providing clinical and psychosocial assessments in the field and mental health evaluations to determine least restrictive alternatives to involuntary treatment.
**MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Provide individual supervision and consultation and regular performance evaluations to direct reports.
+ Understand the expectations of MRRCT as described in King County's Provider Manual.
+ Oversee maintenance and upkeep of employee files and records for compliance to program requirements.
+ Coordinate with other programs internally and externally to assure continuity of client care and successful transition of clients to long-term care providers as appropriate.
+ Co-lead the day-to-day operations to ensure consistent and timely dispatched response in the community.
+ Dispatch to outreaches as needed alongside team.
+ Co-host and participate in all required team meetings.
+ Provide 1:1 supervision with supervisees 2x/ month at minimum.
+ Coordinate day -to-day schedule, making changes and adjustment due to staff call outs and call volume.
+ Maintain staffing model through managing weekly and monthly scheduling in coordination with staff requests for PTO.
+ Monitor for good working conditions all vehicles in MRRCT fleet, in collaboration with their Project Manager. Ensure vehicle and driver safety policies and procedures are followed by all team members. Report and respond to issues promptly.
+ Maintain strong knowledge of all DESC policies and procedures. Assure compliance with same.
+ Provide routine administrative and clinical supervision of team including combination of Certified Peer Crisis Outreach Specialist, Crisis Outreach Specialist, and Mental Health Professional Crisis Outreach Specialists, including performance evaluations on a regular and scheduled basis and maintain supporting documentation in confidential supervision and personnel files.
+ Maintain strong knowledge of the collective bargaining agreement between management and union represented staff. Assure compliance with same.
+ Provide clinical consultation as needed for the evaluation of the psychiatric, substance use, and housing needs of clients, and advocating for clients to access the most effective disposition available in the community.
+ Teach and promote core DESC values, crisis intervention and de-escalation skills, and causes and effects of homelessness essential to ensure the safety of clients and staff.
+ Help staff build competent crisis outreach skills and standard of practice related to clinical documentation and service coordination.
+ Help staff build conflict resolution skills and understand how to give and receive feedback.
+ Actively participate in hiring functions to ensure full staffing across all shifts and position types.
Requirements

+ Licensed Supervisor - Board approval to supervise Mental Health Practitioners and Clinical Trainees
+ 1+ years of supervisory experience
+ Experience working with computers for professional communication and medical documentation - Excel, Outlook, Athena RMS (or other EHRs)
+ Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with equal effectiveness

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $71,200 to $127,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
