We are seeking a Senior/Staff Elasticsearch Engineer to architect and manage scalable, high-performance search infrastructure tailored to document and file management. This role is critical to powering search and discovery for business-critical documents.
Job Description:
Responsibilities
- Design, implement and manage scalable ElasticSearch clusters optimized for indexing and querying large volumes of documents
- Drive architectural reviews and provide technical guidance on complex search implementations.
- Administer the operations of multiple production ElasticSearch clusters across different environments.
- Drive observability and monitoring for ElasticSearch clusters.
- Implement robust ingest pipelines for structured and unstructured file types.
- Develop and fine-tune full-text search features for relevance, speed, and accuracy
- Integrate file parsing tools (e.g., Apache Tika, ingest-attachment plugin) into indexing workflows.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Provide technical support to internal and external staff.
- Participate in incident calls and problem resolution.
- Architect index structures, lifecycle management, and document storage patterns
- Ensure secure access to document content through fine-grained RBAC and SSO integration
- Build metadata extraction and enrichment services to augment searchability
- Automate ingestion pipelines using scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
- Develop dashboards for search/reporting use cases in collaboration with product teams
- Collaborate with Engineering to optimize search integration and performance.
- Deploy and manage Kafka instances.
- Cluster tuning and scaling with focus on fast search and analytics at scale.
- Carry out capacity planning and migrations to optimize cluster performance.
Requirements
Required Skills:
- 5+ years' experience designing and managing production ready multi cluster ElasticSearch instances.
- 4+ years of experience administering Linux systems.
- Infrastructure as Code proficiency (Terraform)
- Experience using Monitoring and Observability solutions
- Proficiency with Cloud Platforms e.g (AWS, Azure) with experience in managed ElasticSearch services.
- Profiency with an automation scripting language (Python, Powershell, bash, Go)
- Strong knowledge of ingest-attachment plugin, pipelines, and file parsing tools
- Proficient in Search DSL, aggregations, and performance tuning

We are seeking a Senior Cloud Systems Engineer with expertise in security frameworks and compliance standards to maintain and enhance our multi-customer cloud environment. This role combines technical engineering with a focus on implementing and maintaining compliance with NIST 800 and ISO 27001 standards. The ideal candidate will ensure our infrastructure meets regulatory requirements while maintaining performance, scalability, and security.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Cloud Systems Engineering:

  • Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and scalability. o Automate deployment, monitoring, and maintenance tasks using modern DevOps practices.

  • Implement Kubernetes and Docker best practices. Experience using Helm and Helm Charts.

  • Implement Site Reliability Engineering best practices

  • Compliance Implementation and Maintenance:

  • Design and implement security controls to meet SOC, NIST 800 and ISO 27001 standards.

  • Conduct gap analyses, audits, and risk assessments to align systems with compliance requirements.

  • Develop and maintain enforceable policies, procedures, and documentation related to compliance and cloud operations.

  • Monitoring and Incident Management:

  • Implement advanced monitoring solutions to identify and resolve issues proactively.

  • Ensure robust incident management processes are in place, including root cause analysis and reporting.

  • CI/CD and Security Integration:

  • Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines with integrated security checks and automated compliance validation.

  • Work with development teams to implement DevSecOps best practices.

  • On-Call Support:

  • Participate in a rotation for on-call support to resolve critical incidents.

  • Lead incident investigations with a focus on improving system reliability and security.

Builds company specific systems and technology expertise across multiple infrastructure and development disciplines
**KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES**
+ Provides expertise on systems technologies and scripting languages.
+ Responsible for support troubleshooting and incident resolution.
+ Contributes to on-call rotation schedules and off-hour support activities.
+ Responsible for tactical build and configuration activities.
+ Responsible for aligning systems implementations with licensing and design requirements.
+ Responsible for alignment with project methodologies and change management processes.
+ Responsible to organize, manage and lead cross-team project tasks and deliverables.
+ Responsible for solution architecture delivery within project management methodologies and timelines.
+ Builds company specific systems and technology expertise across multiple infrastructure and development disciplines.
+ Responsible for areas of strategic planning for architecture standards, roadmaps, budgets, programs, and projects.
+ Responsible for areas of technical design solutions and documentation.
+ Ownership of presentations and solutions submitted to technical peer review committees.
+ Leadership to provide technical concepts and solutions to technical peer audiences.
+ Responsible for providing expertise of major industry trends such as cloud technologies, automation, agile methodologies, etc.
+ Ownership to provides cross-organization teamwork, collaboration, communication, and leadership.
+ Provides constructive feedback on people, process, and technology for continuous improvement.
**JOB QUALIFICATIONS**
**Required Education**
Bachelor's Degree.
**Required Experience**
+ 3+ years of hands-on technical implementation experience in mid to large IT Enterprise environments.
+ 5-6 years of IT technical experience with IT enterprise infrastructure.
+ Industry certifications preferred.
