Co-Op / 6 month intern position with the AdvanSix Frankford Environmental Group. Will go from late September through March.
The Environmental co-op will assist the Environmental department of the A6 Frankford Plant in maintaining compliance with all applicable health, safety, and Environmental regulations. The Environmental co-op will be an integral member of the staff and be involved in current projects and process improvements initiatives. Environmental engineers and managers will assist in training the co-op and will be fully available for assistance and mentoring during the co-op's term. Regular duties may include: - Inspecting the plant for Environmental or safety issues - Assisting in problem solving and investigation - Assisting in management system development including department procedures - Assisting in regulatory reporting obligations - Calculating Environmental emissions - Contributing ideas to improve Environmental performance The co-op will gain valuable experience in: - working with Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations - rapid problem solving and root cause analysis - working in an industrial environment with a variety of engineering, operations, maintenance, and contract personnel. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain valuable detailed knowledge of: how a chemical industrial plant operates and a working knowledge of distillation columns, heat exchangers, pumps, scrubbers, and thermal/catalytic oxidizers; computer based systems to manage laboratory data, incident communication, investigations, plant communications, purchase orders, and maintenance work orders that are integral to managing an industrial facility; RC140001 management systems; life critical permitting including field audits; process hazard analysis under process safety management; and knowledge of OSHA and EPA compliance regulations that affect a chemical plant's daily operations. Co-ops who show good organizational skills, communication skills, work ethic, professionalism, and maturity will have greater opportunities within the organization during their co-op term and could potentially lead to career opportunities upon graduation. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8-5 but can be flexible.
The hourly rate for this position is $25.00

**What is an Electrical Engineer?**
An Electrical Engineer performs and oversees the design, testing, implementation, and troubleshooting of electric power distribution and protection systems. The digital power metering and protection relays the Electrical Engineers support, monitor the status of the power system and running motors. They use that information to interrupt power, or to alert someone to act, depending on the severity of the situation. Electrical Engineers work as part of a project team to design changes to electrical wiring and make improvements to the power distribution system based on the needs of various groups throughout the business (Operations, Engineering, Compliance, Safety, Measurement, Cybersecurity, and more). These improvements can increase reliability, allow for easier operation of the pipeline, increase response time to abnormal conditions, and increase safety of certain processes/pieces of equipment. Electrical Engineers generate documents throughout the project using standard templates for future reference and adherence to company standards and National Electric Codes. Electrical Engineers also perform critical testing and project commissioning support associated with a large pipeline system with 24/7/365 operations.

Job Description Summary
The Student Computer Technician is responsible for providing supervision and support for users of the college's open computer labs. Provides technical assistance for college desktop computers, related equipment, and software applications in computer classrooms, labs, and offices.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a current PGCC student enrolled with a course load of 12 credits or more per semester with a PGCC grade point average of 2.50 or above.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of course INT-1010 (Introduction to Information Technology) or equivalent course is required.
- Completion of INT-1540 (Computer Hardware I) or equivalent course is required.
- Previous technology experience is preferred, but not required.
- PGCC Information Technology related major is preferred, but not required.
- Previous experience providing customer service is preferred, but not required.

Job Description Summary
The Student Computer Technician is responsible for providing supervision and support for users of the college's open computer labs. Provides technical assistance for college desktop computers, related equipment, and software applications in computer classrooms, labs, and offices.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a current PGCC student enrolled with a course load of 12 credits or more per semester with a PGCC grade point average of 2.50 or above.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of course INT-1010 (Introduction to Information Technology) or equivalent course is required.
- Completion of INT-1540 (Computer Hardware I) or equivalent course is required.
- Previous technology experience is preferred, but not required.
- PGCC Information Technology related major is preferred, but not required.
- Previous experience providing customer service is preferred, but not required.

- Proficiency in the operation and use of personal computers, utilizing Microsoft Office Suite, email, and Microsoft Operating systems.
- Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of Prince George's Community Colleges' students, faculty, staff, and community.
- Must have reliable transportation to fulfill scheduled work commitments. This includes timely arrival for the start of your shift.
- Must be available to work approximately 10 hours per week. The shifts will be agreed upon between the Student and Data Science, Innovation, and Effectiveness Office.
- Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.
- As required by the 1986 Immigration Act, be prepared to present acceptable documentation showing your identity and that you are a U.S. citizen or an alien who is authorized to work.

Job Duties will entail:
* Review of Contract Documents to understand the nature of the project.
* Keeping track of the work progression throughout the work shift.
* Closely observing the contractor's work to ensure that work is being completed in accordance with the plans and specifications.
* Reporting deficiencies to the work of the contractor to the Sr. Resident Engineer.
* Preparing daily reports of the work in a standardized format.
* Continuous observation and awareness of the surroundings related to adjacent activities which would affect safety of the construction and ongoing operations.
* Ongoing discussion with the Sr. Resident Engineer for continuous improvement.
* Learning and understanding various FAA Advisory Circulars related to the ongoing work. Incorporating such AC to gain understanding of how the standards are implemented in the field.
* Gain understanding of various markings, lighting, and geometry of the work.
* Keep a daily log of activities of your observations, lessons learned, and understanding of the various components of the work.
* Communicate with Massport Operations as directed.
* Observe testing of materials (base material, asphalt, concrete, soils) and systems (lights, regulators, signage, communications, Navaids).
* Learn the various methods for tracking quantities for payment of requisitions.
* Understand the role of MPA surveyors in collecting data for quantity verification and as-built drawings.
* Understand the role of the airfield escorting procedures.

* In pursuit of a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
