Job Description
Mobile Unit Driver
The Mobile Unit performs the driving and general maintenance, as well as cleaning and stocking of the Mobile Unit.
We offer:
- Starting Hourly Range - $20 - $23 per hour
- Must be available to work days and evenings (Depending on the Season).

Specific Duties:
- Drive the Mobile Unit from the assigned parking space to the scheduled location within the migrant program activities
- Inspect the Mobile Unit every time it is used using the "Mobile Unit Inspection Report," making sure the vehicle is in adequate condition to be used
- Monitors inventory from the Mobile Unit, assuring medical supplies are always sufficient before going out to a location
- Provides reports of inventory (supplies) to the Migrant Health Director.
- Keep the Mobile Unit clean (including sweeping and mopping of the floors, cleaning of counters and other surfaces of the Mobile Unit)
- In case maintenance of the engine, chassis, or the airstream is needed, schedule the repair through the Facilities Director
- Works in conjunction with Medical Providers, Medical Assistants, Enrollment Specialists, Customer Service Associate, and all other staff to ensure that patients obtain the highest standard of integrated health care
- Acts as a patient advocate for our vulnerable populations by ensuring that patients are fully informed and comfortable with their visit to Salud
- Assists in the assurance of providing good quality services during visits in the Mobile Unit.
- Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required
- Follows procedures for the electronic health records system
- Some evening hours are required
- Performs other duties as assigned
Education:
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience driving and maintaining large vehicles
- 21 years of age or older and have a minimum of 3 years of licensed driving experience
- Valid Driver's License
- The ability to work independently
- Effective written and oral communication skills. Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Must work well with the patient care team
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and experience driving large vehicles
- Knowledge of Colorado's driving laws
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment
- Skilled driver
- Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions
- Sensitivity to low-income and ethnic minority communities is a requirement
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

The Driver will service commercial business buildings Monday - Friday as well as one Saturday a month. They will operate heavy-duty trucks and are responsible for the collection commercial business solid waste. Drivers will transport the material to a disposal, transfer, or recycle facility when load capacity is met. Drivers will need to safely maneuver vehicles and navigate congested roadways.

Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following tasks:
- Operates vehicle in accordance with HBSCO LLC Safety Rules, OSHA (Occupational and Safety Health Act), and DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements as well as all local, state and federal laws.
- Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle and documents checks utilizing the standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report).
- Immediately reports all unsafe situations or service-related issues to Route Manager or Dispatcher.
- Attends and participates in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings as required by HBSCO LLC or directed by Route Manager.
- Works closely with Route Manager to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices.
- Notifies Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, injures, or property damage.
- Notifies Route Manager or Dispatcher of service interruptions including closed or impassable streets or alleyways, receptacles too heavy to service or potential safety hazards.
- Communicates customer requests to Dispatcher or Route Manager.
- Completely dumps all receptacles and leaves the customer's location clean and free of debris.
- Follows route assignments as directed and completes end of day documentation and check out process.
- Performs all duties as scheduled by Route Manager or Dispatcher and assists other.
- Experience: Front Load (FEL) Trash Truck experience is a must. At least 2 years of previous experience operating a CDL vehicle requiring a CDL or equivalent driving within the last 7 years.
- The applicant must be 21 years of age.
- Hold a current Class A or B Commercial 'Driver's License with an air brake endorsement.
- Acceptable driving record required.
- Successfully complete a pre-employment DOT drug screen, physical, and background check, which will include previous employment check and motor vehicle record review.
- $26 - $36 Depending on experience
