The Opportunity: 

The Commercial Driver position for Packaging Solutions involves driving a company tractor and trailer to deliver product to our customers. Driver routes will typically be 4-10 stops per route, will require the driver to unload via lift gate with pallet jack, and transport/place palletized product inside the customers’ location. Driver will be expected to use ELD and log all activity and follow all state and federal regulations. Routes are generally <150 miles round trip.

Your Responsibilities as a CDL-A Delivery Driver:

POSITION SUMMARY: A Driver- CDL (B) is responsible for safely operating a collection truck, and providing prompt, courteous and complete waste removal services for customers. In addition, a Driver – CDL (B) is responsible for ensuring his or her vehicle is in compliance with the Company’s safety standards prior to operating the vehicle, ensures that all Company, state and federal regulations are adhered to at all times while operating the vehicle, and completes vehicle condition reports (“VCRs”) on a daily basis to ensure that any vehicle defects are repaired in a timely manner.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle in accordance with Company policy to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls are in proper working order. Report any safety issues on standard reports.

  • Safely operate his or her heavy truck along his or her designated route and to the disposal site; read route sheet, follow map and service each customer as identified on the route sheet or as assigned by the dispatcher and/or supervisor.

  • Operate manual and/or automatic controls in accordance with Company safety policies and procedures to lift and load refuse, operate compactor and dispose of collected material at the designated facility.

  • Courteously interact with all customers, dispatchers and others on a daily basis to ensure all customer routes are serviced in a timely and professional manner.

  • Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers in accordance with applicable departmental procedures.

  • Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable waste.

  • Clean area around an accidental waste spill, ensuring adherence to all applicable safety standards and policies.

  • Continuously monitor the condition of the vehicle to ensure it is operationally ready at all times to minimize down time; clean waste from the packer blade and truck body (where appropriate) on each disposal trip.

  • Complete required route/productivity sheets, VCRs and other reports, as required.

  • Maintain adherence to required productivity standards for the department to ensure all customers are serviced in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Follow all required safety policies and procedures.

  • Actively participate in the Company’s ReSOP program.

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

  • Good customer services skills to meet and exceed customer expectations; acts in a professional, courteous and cooperative manner toward customers and co-workers; works with a sense of honesty and trustworthiness.

  • Good time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient and safe manner.

Job Summary

Responsibilities
  • Safely operate a commercial garbage truck on designated routes to collect solid waste both mechanically and manually.
  • Transport collected waste to appropriate disposal sites.

  • Comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and MVD safety standards.
  • Perform routine checks and maintenance on the vehicle, reporting any issues to the supervisor.

Physical Requirements
  • Frequent industrial lifting, occasionally lifting waste to waist height.

Minimum Knowledge and Skills

Job Description

M3, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Commercial Driver. $20 - $23 per hour, depending on experience.

Job Summary:

Safely operate a heavy-duty truck (Ford F450) to pick up material and equipment from vendors, and transport, deliver and unload material/equipment to construction job sites located within Charlottesville and surrounding cities/counties.

Knowledge and experience with towing trailers (such as dump trailer and Gooseneck) required. Position will require often working alone, so physical stamina and ability to lift heavy material/equipment is required. When not driving, will be assigned various tasks such as organization/inventory of Storage Yard. This position does not require overnight travel and is full-time, Monday-Friday, with benefits.

Job Requirements:

  • Valid Driver's License (preference given to those with a CDL License, but CDL is not required)
  • Proof of Clean Driving Record
  • Operate vehicle(s) in accordance with Department of Transportation and OSHA regulations, as well as all local, state, and federal requirements and M3, Inc. company vehicle policies
  • Maintain a clean vehicle and immediately report any vehicle maintenance issues.
  • Ability to work independently and possess physical stamina
  • Communicate/coordinate with M3, Inc. team members for timely delivery/pick-up of material
  • Self-motivated to organize yard to maintain proper inventory of material and equipment
Benefits:
  • After 60 days, full-time employees are enrolled in company-paid Group Life and Short-Term Disability policies. Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance are offered to full-time employees after 60 days and M3, Inc. pays 60% of the medical premium. Other Supplemental Benefits, such as Accident, Critical Illness, and expanded Life Insurance are also offered at discounted rates.
Holidays and Personal Time Off (PTO):
  • 6 paid Holidays are offered after 90 days of full-time employment, and 40 hours of PTO are accrued after one year of full-time employment.
