Chief Commercial Officer


Elemental Enzymes is seeking an experienced Chief Commercial Officer to focus on planning and execution of the Companys go-to- market strategy. The CCO will be responsible for maintaining alignment between Commercial, Manufacturing and R&D with respect to business and company priorities and overall spending to support Commercial efforts. Given the criticality of EEs future GTM strategy, the Chief Commercial Officer will also work very closely with the Board of Managers of EE.


Key Qualifications

  • Proven track records as a General Manger or Senior Commercial Executive within biotech, agribusiness, or industrial enzyme sectors
  • Experience in scaling revenue from early-stage commercialization to $100M+ ARR
  • Experience in both multinational Ag environments as well as Ag distribution and retail; understanding of ag manufacturing and new market development
  • Strong commercial relationships with ag distribution and retail customers, notably within the U.S.
  • Deep understanding of Ag industry go-to-market strategies, channel partnerships, and B2B sales models
  • Strong financial acumen, including P&L management, monthly reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to drive business transformation and commercial acceleration
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and leadership skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to navigate complex regulatory and scientific landscapes
  • Experience operating in PE-backed environment strongly preferred
  • Excellent people development and coaching skills
  • Ability to both manage direct reports and influence executive peers in a productive manner that fosters results and strong followership throughout the organization


Key Responsibilities

Commercial & Go-to-Market Leadership

  • Establish and scale a high-performing commercial team, including product management, account management, sales operations and customer marketing functions.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive go-to-market strategy; ensure commercial organization is properly structured and incentivized to drive sales and revenue growth.
  • Prioritize integration of commercial strategy and plans with all functional units of EE, to ensure that the overall business is fully aligned with the commercial strategy, including informing R&D, manufacturing prioritization, and spending, based on commercial opportunity.
  • Refine and execute all aspects of Elemental Enzymes corporate and product marketing / positioning.
  • Identify and prioritize highest-value commercial opportunities across agriculture, biomanufacturing, and industrial markets.
  • Meet, develop, and maintain relationships with new and existing customers to drive customer acquisition, retention, and market penetration.
  • Lead all aspects of customer contract negotiations.
  • Develop market positioning for enzymes that differentiates EEs products from other biologicals, utilizing the in-depth knowledge and intellectual property resident within EE to reinforce the strong value proposition of enzymes to growers.


Strategic Growth & Partnerships

  • Forge strategic alliances with key industry players, distributors, and retail partners to accelerate market adoption of EE products.
  • Explore licensing, joint ventures, and commercialization partnerships to unlock new revenue streams.
  • Lead M&A discussions for potential acquisitions that align with Elemental Enzymes growth strategy.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance brand positioning and competitive differentiation.


Manufacturing, Technical Development & Product Development

  • Partner closely with the Vice President of Manufacturing to ensure alignment between Manufacturing needs relative to commercial demands to inform spend and pricing strategy.
  • Work closely with R&D (Chief Science Officer and Director of Global Technical Development) to inform and prioritize product development/ spend based on market opportunity & demand and create a go-to-market strategy for those products; specifically, more efficient, lower-volume products with same or an enhanced level of efficacy on both specialty crops and broad acre crops.
  • Ensure product portfolio aligns with commercial needs and that the in-field use cases of each product are viable and agronomically sound.


Financial & Operational Excellence

  • Partner closely with the CFO in all aspects of financial planning, forecasting, and capital allocation to ensure strong commercial execution.
  • Construct and adhere to commercial budgets to effectively and efficiently manage commercial expenditures.
  • Implement scalable business processes to support rapid growth and operational efficiency.
  • Develop & implement compensation package architecture for commercial team that appropriately incentivizes revenue growth and margin preservation.
  • Drive pricing strategies, market expansion initiatives, and customer success frameworks to maximize profitability and align with the markets willingness to / ability to pay.
  • Work closely with the CEO and Board to align on execution of key value creation levers.
