**What You'll do**
The Community Relations Manager is a leader with experience successfully developing and executing community engagement strategies, building positive and lasting relationships with communities. In this role, the Community Relations Manager will implement outreach strategies that align with project development milestones, build key stakeholder relationships in local communities, and will implement long-term programs designed to represent Lightsource bp favorably and make positive contributions to communities that are home to our solar projects across the United States - from early-stage development and permitting, through the operational life of the projects. As such, the position will work closely with Lightsource bp's Development, Construction, and Asset Management teams.

- Effectively manage multiple projects across a multi-state territory.
- Consistently implement philanthropic programs in host communities
- Provide risk assessment reports for early-stage projects in our pipeline to ensure high value, sustainable projects in our pipeline
**Essential Job Functions**
**Supporting development success**
- Partner with the Development team to develop and execute strategic community engagement and communications plans.
- Research project locations and conduct a community risk analysis to assess risk of opposition and overall project fit, recommend mitigation strategies.
- Identify key stakeholders in the community for relationship building and advocacy of the project.
- Coordinate with the development team and any third-party consultants on community outreach strategies, with an objective of achieving project success and promoting our brand and reputation.
**Community relations for the full project lifecycle**
- Be a primary point of contract for communities in which we develop, construct, and/or operate a solar project
- Identify sponsorship/donation opportunities to increase our community outreach efforts during all phases of the project
- Develop communication material/newsletters to update the community on our solar projects
- Ensure project-specific community engagement strategies align with company's community giving practices.
- Work with the Marketing & Communications team on the development of collateral materials for community and landowner communications

**Building a best-in-class community relations program**
- Enhance our Community Relations strategies with the expansion of stakeholder management tools and databases
- Track community relations success metrics using database tools and platforms
- Be a key strategic business partner in developing our pipeline with data and intel gathered about community sentiment, key stakeholders, and the political realities of the communities we site our projects in.
**Who we're looking for**
**Knowledge**
- A general understanding of the energy industry - An expertise in the layers of local government, the power ecosystem of communities, and small-town politics.
- Microsoft Office fluency (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint) including Teams
- Proficiency in using CRMs, stakeholder management platforms, or similar databases required.

  • Initiate and maintain contact - using a mix of communications tools - with key referral sources in the community identified through a data-driven targeting process for earning referrals to the center.
  • Coordinate admissions to the assisted living and memory care community, including handling inquiries either over the phone or in person; and conduct a needs assessment of the resident seeking admission and consideration of alternatives, if center is not capable of meeting these needs.
  • Share current information available about funding resources.
  • Work with individual residents and families toward adjustment to residential care life and to crises of illness, disability, and death.
  • Serve in an advocacy role for patients and their families in expressing, defining, and resolving grievances.
  • Handle marketing activities/functions assigned by the Executive Director.
  • Alert the Executive Director of identified needs for the admissions function.
  • Manage stress effectively

Field Activities - accounts for 70% of the position.
  • Conduct scheduled face-to-face meetings with targeted referral sources to uncover needs and then deliver relevant and useful information specific to each contact - ultimately building a trusting and reliable relationship with that referring source.
  • Advance each relationship using customized relationship sales strategies to the point of asking for new or additional referral opportunities.
  • Document each provider/referral source encounter, through our Customer Relations Management Program, including any open requests or needs and the follow-up plan in a database tool that tracks activities, progress, trends, and outcomes.

Sales Planning - accounts for 15% of the position.
  • Develop annual growth plans for key audiences that consider market share patterns, patient utilization data, and physician claims data.
  • Incorporate market intelligence pertinent to new opportunities and relationships.
  • Complete an annual "Market Analysis" of competitor's services and pricing.
  • In collaboration with Department leaders, the executive director, and/or other appropriate leadership, ensure plan objectives align with facility service lines targeted and ready for growth.
  • Continuously adapt strategies and plans to ensure optimal outcomes and "win-win" results for key audiences and encourage and support internal efforts to create a referral source-centric culture.
  • Work with your center leadership to develop targeted messages for the referral audience.
  • Prepare reports, summarize field activities, and identify trends, opportunities, and barriers to new referrals.
  • Bring forward new business opportunities revealed through field interactions and facilitate response jointly agreed upon by internal stakeholders.

Internal Interface and Coordination - accounts for 15% of the position.
  • Communicate trends in service, communications, and operations barriers expressed by referral sources that affect the ability to develop relationships with referral sources and negatively impact the ability to grow this center's image and its referrals.
  • Work with the executive director and clinical/operational leaders to ensure a system is in place for addressing and reporting customer issues and needs.
  • Serve as a resource to organizational leaders for market and competitive intelligence and referral source desires to support operational and clinical business planning.

Bed Management :
  • Coordinates and plan the daily operations for all pre-admission activities.
  • Collaborate with center leadership in meeting census goals and maintaining occupancy levels.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day proper placement of residents in beds. This requires knowledge base of which beds are available.

**Location: Western region of North Carolina.** This position will work in the field in this area, covering Buncombe, Burke, Haywood, and Rutherford counties.
Some Saturdays required.

+ Experience/familiarity with community and faith based organizations that supports the delivery area, knowledge of plan and/or competitors value added benefits preferred.
