The Project Manager will lead projects and help build the operational foundation in the Greensboro region. This person will split project load with an existing PM and oversee 35 active jobs within about a 70-mile radius. Typical projects include landfill expansions, FAA airport work, and large-scale industrial sites.
This role is a fit for someone with strong field understanding and business acumen, who thrives in a fast-paced, less-defined systems environment. The PM will have a seat at the table for strategic discussions and will help build systems that enable growth. Theyll manage schedules, budgets, and documentation, while also mentoring others and representing Sargents values on the job sites and with customers.
Responsibilities
- Lead project planning, execution, and closeout on 35 active civil projects
- Serve as the primary point of contact with clients, trade partners, and internal teams.
- Partner with Superintendents to support and coordinate field operations.
- Maintain project financials including budgets, forecasts, and pay requisitions.
- Develop and manage schedules and procurement workflows.
- Contribute to systems and process development for the growing NC office.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with estimating, fleet, and executive teams.
- Mentor junior team members and foster strong site culture.
Qualifications
- 35+ years of civil construction experience in project management or as an APM.
- Background in heavy civil, landfill, airport, or industrial projects preferred.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Entrepreneurial spirit with ability to create structure and improve processes.
- Familiarity with scheduling and project tools (Excel, Microsoft Project; Scheduling or PM Software a plus).
- Comfortable wearing multiple hats in a smaller, fast-growing office.

- Disperse and delegate all PWA questions to the appropriate subject matter experts while ensuring all questions get answered timely
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of five years of construction Industry experience/knowledge of construction techniques, estimating and construction management
- Experience in project management on utility scale renewables projects such as Solar, BESS or wind preferred, experience in project management on EPC or other large scale construction projects such as experience working for a heavy general contractor will be considered
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

**Job Title:** Project Manager - Champion Construction Service

**Region of Responsibility: Raleigh** , North Carolina
**Summary:**
Champion is seeking an experienced and reliable construction professional to join and provide leadership to the team. The Project Manager will be responsible for regionally managing all projects related to the set and trim out of HUD and modular homes, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with the construction documents. This will be a service offered to our manufacturing facilities and retailers. This position will report directly to the Director of Operations.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
The key responsibilities of this position are outlined below. Other duties may be assigned.
+ Oversee, direct, and coordinate crews with company employees and subcontractor crews to perform installation and trim out of HUD and modular homes for our retailers/builders.
+ Will be the primary point of contact between Champion Construction Service and the retailer/builder, through our manufacturing factories in the region.
+ Help create company-owned set crews and trim out crews, including developing the business plan and budget.
+ Solicit and certify subcontractor crews to perform the set and factory trim out.
+ Call on the retailer/builders to develop working relationships and market services.
+ Process paperwork and maintain files for quotes and orders of service.
+ Work with the divisional leadership to create tools and documents essential for doing business in the region.
+ Taking any needed courses/tests to be certified or licensed as an installer of HUD and modular homes will be advantageous.
+ Perform any other duties as requested.
+ Ability to travel within the state.
**Qualifications:**
+ Ability to properly manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
+ Clear verbal and written communication skills to demonstrate and convey a thorough understanding of the entire development process.
+ Must possess a strong knowledge of Word, and Excel, and be able to develop an accurate budget report, spreadsheets, correspondence, schedules, and other reporting as required.

Work with the Fluor Program Manager and Fluor Construction Managers to provide the following:
Work with the project team to develop overall project sourcing and execution strategy.
Work with Fluor Construction Manager to develop and execute sourcing plan & BVOAs for project. Know and understand the sourcing plans for your projects.
Ensure that the development of the conceptual scope of work during the FEE (Front End Engineering) stage is fully supported.
Work with construction vendors to document all base scope blocks during FEE that will be used as a basis for each vendors Target Value Estimate.
Support project teams in optimizing projects by identifying and removing waste and adding value to the projects through Lean Construction practices.
Work with the project team to develop a master schedule using the Last Planner System.
Work closely with our customers as well as our engineering and construction partners to drive out high-quality, cost-effective designs that enable high value, low-cost construction driving savings and shared profit for all.
Review engineering documents, vendor information and final design EI packages as needed with the client, design engineers and others to provide constructability during all phases of the project.
Coordinate with the appropriate trade partner supervisor to review, walk down, and communicate the scope of work.
Ensure that you fully understand the scope of work from initial conception to construction completion.
Work with Fluor Construction Manager and the Fluor Program Manager to determine the estimate structure requirements for your projects.

Execute Project Forecasting: This includes maintaining correct and accurate project forecasts. Ensure forecast data is communicated to project controls during the first week of every month. Accurately projecting future project costs and the anticipated dates of execution.
Constructability/Procurement Savings: Ensure project savings is recognized and entered into OCS daily. Interface and ensure good communication with Program Manager or other CMs to identify possible savings opportunities. Come prepared to discuss savings in each daily trigger meeting. Adhere to submission deadlines for monthly constructability and procurement savings.
Planners will validate all cost estimates to ensure all scope is represented, cost accounted for and grouping is accurate prior to it being considered final.
Technically evaluate quotes and bids from trade partners and suppliers with Procurement, Project Controls, P&G PM/Tech and P&G Auditing personnel.
All quotes must be validated back to the original cost estimate that backs up the project budget.
Lead and support project teams in the identification of changes in scope or unexpected field conditions and ensuring proper change management is supported and followed.
Document all scope changes on a change order prior to the work being performed.

Work with the Fluor Program Manager and Fluor Construction Managers to provide the following:
- Work with the project team to develop overall project sourcing and execution strategy.
- Work with Fluor Construction Manager to develop and execute sourcing plan & BVOA's for project. Know and understand the sourcing plans for your projects.
- Ensure that the development of the conceptual scope of work during the FEE (Front End Engineering) stage is fully supported.
- Work with construction vendors to document all base scope blocks during FEE that will be used as a basis for each vendor's Target Value Estimate.
- Support project teams in optimizing projects by identifying and removing waste and adding value to the projects through Lean Construction practices.
- Work with the project team to develop a master schedule using the Last Planner System.
- Work closely with our customers as well as our engineering and construction partners to drive out high-quality, cost-effective designs that enable high value, low-cost construction driving savings and shared profit for all.
- Review engineering documents, vendor information and final design EI packages as needed with the client, design engineers and others to provide constructability during all phases of the project.
- Coordinate with the appropriate trade partner supervisor to review, walk down, and communicate the scope of work.
- Ensure that you fully understand the scope of work from initial conception to construction completion.
- Work with Fluor Construction Manager and the Fluor Program Manager to determine the estimate structure requirements for your projects.
- Develop Cost Estimate: This may include working with trade partners to establish scope and associated costs. The cost of performing work item tasks should represent, as close as possible, the scope of work to be performed as identified in Engineering Information and other supporting documents.
- Execute Project Forecasting: This includes maintaining correct and accurate project forecasts. Ensure forecast data is communicated to project controls during the first week of every month. Accurately projecting future project costs and the anticipated dates of execution.
- Constructability/Procurement Savings: Ensure project savings is recognized and entered into OCS daily. Interface and ensure good communication with Program Manager or other CM's to identify possible savings opportunities. Come prepared to discuss savings in each daily trigger meeting. Adhere to submission deadlines for monthly constructability and procurement savings.
- Planners will validate all cost estimates to ensure all scope is represented, cost accounted for and grouping is accurate prior to it being considered final.
- Technically evaluate quotes and bids from trade partners and suppliers with Procurement, Project Controls, P&G PM/Tech and P&G Auditing personnel.
- All quotes must be validated back to the original cost estimate that backs up the project budget.
- Lead and support project teams in the identification of changes in scope or unexpected field conditions and ensuring proper change management is supported and followed.
- Document all scope changes on a change order prior to the work being performed.
