Key Responsibilities
  • Provides concrete support for national construction projects. •Directs administration and training of construction personnel for national construction projects. •Develops standard operating procedures for construction execution which minimizes cost and duration of construction activities. •Monitors, evaluates, and reports civil performance of assigned construction projects to Operation Manager. •Provides recommendations to Operation Manager regarding project civil staff assignments/teams. •Acts as liaison between construction and engineering for all concrete related matters. •Ensures all Construction Projects meet the Client specified civil quality standards. •Support site Superintendents in developing SOPs, man-loaded and equipment-loaded schedules (fragnet schedules), staging plans, bill of materials, quality control plans. •Leads weekly civil superintendent calls to discuss safety, quality, productivity, and resource needs. •Establishes and maintains relationships and develops a high level of trust and credibility with key clients, alliance partners, subcontractors, and project teams. •Communicates lessons learned. Review project Budget/Unit Rates with assigned superintendent and determine if in line with company earning rules Coordinate and track equipment assignments with site teams and CEF's and maintain spreadsheet for updates. •Directs corrective action for discipline problems or poor performance. Keeps Department and Human Resources Department involved and informed as required.•Enforces and interprets division and department policies, standards, and procedures. •Provides supervision, training, development, and performance management of direct reports. •Adheres to safety and quality standards as applicable to duties and accountabilities. •Identifies and assesses improvement opportunities which will add value. Champions continuous improvement efforts. Assesses and supports the change management effects associated with the implementation of improvements. Proactively supports, encourages and facilitates staff to engage in continuous improvement activities. •Travel to support sites when and where needed.

Bachelor's degree in construction or heavy industrial experience preferred, or relevant experience. 3+ years of construction management experience. As a Team member providing Construction Support, you will work under the jobsite Supervisor(s) and report to the Chief of Operations.

Responsibilities:
• Participate in weekly progress meetings
• Assist with weekly job plans
• Communicate with manufacturers, subcontractors and suppliers
• Tool inventory weekly
• Pick up materials from the hardware/lumberyard.

Construction Technical Support Specialist - Remote Position

The Installation Performance and quality group is primarily a support function for the construction projects in Vestas. The Construction Technical Support Specialist is a support function for the Construction Team and Installation Performance Management, with tasks ranging from onsite support, tooling support, CIM assistance, Engineering interface, and a variety of onsite or remote meetings. Expected minimum 50% travel and work on location at the construction project.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as an interface between Construction and Engineering via Construction related TSL tickets.
  • Develop and modify documentation for complex and new tasks.
  • Communicate pertinent information to key stakeholders.
  • Perform advanced problem analysis and diagnostics to include use of technical documentation and advanced tools e.g. VOB/SQL/VDAT/VOT/GLD etc.; use root cause analysis/fish bone/DMAIC to report and resolve technical issues.
  • Execute and perform most work tasks effectively using technical skills according to undefined parameters due to complexity of technical matters and follow procedures when defined; review documentation, processes and procedures for applicability and accuracy; submit recommendations to appropriate site or department managers.
  • Identify the need to and will collaborate across internal departments to resolve customer and/or site level inquiries.
  • Assist in technical meetings with the customer and/or BoP to represent Vestas from the field perspective as needed.
  • Support efforts to ensure that high installation quality is maintained by Vestas project team and Vestas contractors. This will include verifying SWIs are followed, procedures completed in their entirety, and control measures are in place.
  • Follow-up of project-related engineering issues onsite to ensure execution excellence.
  • Internal follow-up of internal project related requests and processes, such as facilitating documentation requests, assisting with long-term storage, ECRs, etc.
  • Support efforts to ensure that QSE requirements and guidelines are adhered to at project sites by performing both quality and safety walks.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 - 7 years' experience in the wind industry is beneficial.
  • Current with all Vestas training and/or ability to complete training requirements.

Functions in our group include safety, project field management, construction management, quality control, start up and decommissioning and field engineering.
**Key Responsibilities**
Provides the site construction teams the means, methods, and staffing to support construction of Battery Storage, Transmission Lines and substations. Help lead bids and proposals. Works with EH&S group to develop and maintain safety program associated with Battery Storage activities. Develop Craft Training and Certification program for lineman and groundman trades for Open-shop craft employees. Develops and maintains Construction procedures and quality programs associated with the Construction of BESS work. Identifies and supports the sourcing of tooling and equipment necessary for the installation of Transmission Lines. Identifies and supports the recruiting of craft and leadership associated with the project work. Supports BESS project proposals including development of staffing, equipment, and other direct and indirect quantities and costs to support estimate development. Leads and participates in design constructability reviews. Supports subcontract developments for projects as needed. Active involvement in project risk reviews including identifying and developing mitigation plans associated with BESS Construction. Assists site team in resolving problems and reports on issues related to drawings and information, schedule, quality, quantity tracking, cost reporting, and safety. Monitors discipline construction productivity, progress, and cost, and reports to Operations Manager, Construction Manager and Project Controls Manager. Takes necessary actions to maintain targets. Develops corrective plan to ensure progress and productivity targets are met. Verifies that all equipment, material, manpower and resources needed to support Project Schedule are available and on site. Reviews all timesheets, installed quantity reports, and progress payment request. Develops a stable working relationship with Client and assigned subcontractor(s). Develops and distributes a Job Hazard Analysis for major erection packages within scope. Identifies potential back charges and out of scope issues and reports to Construction Manager. Supports commercial recovery process. Provides supervision, training, development, and performance management to direct reports. Adheres to safety and quality standards as applicable to duties and accountabilities. Supports continuous improvement efforts and the change management effects associated with the implementation of improvements.
**Preferred Qualifications**
Direct hire Open-shop Transmission Line/Substation and Battery Storage construction experience required. Proposal and Estimating experience within construction. Bachelor's degree in construction or engineering and Battery Storage experience preferred. Should have 3+ years of experience as Construction Manager level or above. Should have 8+ years with a degree or 18+ years without degree, of Battery Storageon experience. Knowledge of project budget process and tools. Knowledge of department budget process and tools. Knowledge of Project controls. Risk assessment/management. Administrative policies and procedures. Construction Project Management Systems. Conceptual planning ability. Conflict management skills. Leadership ability (team building, coaching, mentoring, change management, advising). Multi-tasking ability (prioritize, organize, schedule work). Presentation skills. Problem solving skills (identify, analyze, research, evaluate, resolve). Project management skills. Communication and meeting skills. Time reporting systems. Expense reporting policies and procedures. Bilingual/Spanish speaking is preferred.
**Minimum Qualifications**
Bachelor's degree in construction or heavy industrial experience preferred, or relevant experience. 3+ years of construction management experience. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

- Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Stand, Kneel, Bend, Stoop, Move, and Walk long distances in and around confined, cluttered places, and uneven areas.
