This is technical work inspecting construction projects for compliance with applicable building codes. The work requires knowledge of techniques, methods and procedures used to inspect construction projects, which are gained through specialized training and job experiences. Contacts require influencing people's behavior and assertiveness when issuing citations to enforce compliance with applicable code regulations. The work is standardized in that tasks are covered by substantially diversified procedures and specialized standards requiring use of judgment. Work is performed in a field environment where risks and hazards are substantial, but are known, somewhat predictable and mostly controllable. Operates standard office equipment such as telephone and laptop computer, motor vehicle, hand tools, and standard measuring devices. The physical demands consist of driving, sitting, climbing, standing, walking, and occasional lifting of objects weighing up to 40 pounds. The work is performed under limited supervision where assignments are subject to established practices and procedures covered by methods and techniques and reviewed for quality, adherence to established methods, standards and policies.

- Must possess or obtain within twelve (12) months of receiving provisional certification, a standard State of Florida Certificate as an Electrical Inspector.
- Once the provisional certification is obtained must maintain same or standard certification during employment in this class.
- Must possess a City of Jacksonville Journeyman or Master Electrician Certificate or be a State Certificate Electrical Contractor which must be maintained during employment in this class.
- A valid Florida Class E Driver's License is required prior to appointment and must be maintained during employment in this class.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATES/TRAINING (Required):

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Journeyman status with five years of recent related professional experience or equivalent qualifications.
- One year of related professional industry or post-secondary teaching experience.
- Certified NCCER Instructor or have the ability to become a certified NCCER Instructor within 90 days.
- Valid drivers license.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATES/TRAINING (Preferred):
- Journeyman status with five years of recent related professional experience or equivalent qualifications or NCCER Instructor Qualified in Plumbing and Electrical.

- Lead and manage all local field supervisors, leads, and frontline team members across HVAC, electrical, and plumbing trades.
- Oversee day-to-day shop operations, including:
- Coordinating materials and equipment logistics.
- Reviewing and approving timesheets and receipts.
- Managing dispatching, deliveries, and inventory.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all South Florida operations, including hiring, onboarding, and conducting in-person interviews.
- Build and scale the team to meet the needs of both service and construction projects, especially in preparation for 2026 commercial retail rollouts.
- Cultivate a positive, accountable team culture grounded in safety, quality, and integrity.
- Maintain strong communication with executive leadership and support alignment with company goals.
- Leverage personal industry network to identify and recruit qualified local talent.
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in the construction or skilled trades industry (HVAC, electrical, or plumbing strongly preferred).
- Demonstrated experience managing field teams and shop operations.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) – required due to workforce composition.
- Proven ability to recruit and build teams in South Florida; strong local network is a plus.
