Employee Relations Consultants
**PRIMARY PURPOSE** **:** To serve as the point of contact and provide support, guidance, and direction to business leaders and CR business partners on performance improvement, progressive discipline matters and workplace complaints, up to and including termination. To review and approve end-to-end corrective action, reductions, and performance management documents.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Provides expertise, consultation, guidance and coaching to business leaders and CR business partners to address employee behavior and performance concerns.
+ Reviews, documents and delivers feedback and/or progressive discipline actions up to and including termination that align with Sedgwick policies.
+ Evaluates, coordinates and approves the process for any reduction in force and/or position elimination to ensure consistency with Sedgwick policy.
+ Ensures accurate tracking, intake and investigation notes, documentation, and resolution of employee relations cases including recommendations on workplace complaints.
+ Provides information and guidance regarding adherence to company policies and applicable laws and regulations.
+ Using provided metrics, identifies trends and/or challenges and offers recommendations for improvements.
+ Collaborates with and supports Centers of Excellence "COE's" on general CR programs, initiatives and projects as needed.
+ Partners with legal and/or compliance by providing supporting documentation gathering for all administrative changes and attorney letters.
+ Identifies and analyzes legal/compliance risks in employment situations and escalates defined matters appropriately to ensure notification and consultation requirements.
+ Analyzes employee relations data, providing regular reporting, trend analysis and risk assessment. Shares information with CR business partners and other CR Centers of Excellence "COE's" as needed.
+ Serves as subject matter expert for employee relations COE's, providing guidance, training, and coaching.
**ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
+ Supports the organization's quality program(s).
+ Travels as required.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Education & Licensing**
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred. MBA preferred. SHRM, PHR preferred.
**Experience**
Six (6) years' experience in a human resource generalist capacity specifically demonstrating a working knowledge of employee relations programs and laws and overseeing a wide variety of complex, high risk and sensitive employment-related cases from intake to investigation to resolution and experience in a shared services/internal service delivery role and with HRIS and/or case management tools or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Experience with Workday and ServiceNow preferred.
**Skills & Knowledge**
+ Knowledge of the full range of employee relations (ER) practices; performance management & corrective action support, restructuring & reductions, workplace issues and conflicts including management practices concern, disputes, and appeals, etc.
+ Working understanding of major employment laws Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Age Discrimination Employment Act (ADEA), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and the Title VII Discrimination Act
+ Strong process improvement orientation and willingness to recommend changes to improve applicable functions
+ Ability to analyze information and convert related activities into a comprehensive work plan

+ Self-driven with a sense of ownership of work product and accountability

Employee Relations Consultants
**PRIMARY PURPOSE** **:** To serve as the point of contact and provide support, guidance, and direction to business leaders and CR business partners on performance improvement, progressive discipline matters and workplace complaints, up to and including termination. To review and approve end-to-end corrective action, reductions, and performance management documents.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Provides expertise, consultation, guidance and coaching to business leaders and CR business partners to address employee behavior and performance concerns.
+ Reviews, documents and delivers feedback and/or progressive discipline actions up to and including termination that align with Sedgwick policies.
+ Evaluates, coordinates and approves the process for any reduction in force and/or position elimination to ensure consistency with Sedgwick policy.
+ Ensures accurate tracking, intake and investigation notes, documentation, and resolution of employee relations cases including recommendations on workplace complaints.
+ Provides information and guidance regarding adherence to company policies and applicable laws and regulations.
+ Using provided metrics, identifies trends and/or challenges and offers recommendations for improvements.
+ Collaborates with and supports Centers of Excellence "COE's" on general CR programs, initiatives and projects as needed.
+ Partners with legal and/or compliance by providing supporting documentation gathering for all administrative changes and attorney letters.
+ Identifies and analyzes legal/compliance risks in employment situations and escalates defined matters appropriately to ensure notification and consultation requirements.
+ Analyzes employee relations data, providing regular reporting, trend analysis and risk assessment. Shares information with CR business partners and other CR Centers of Excellence "COE's" as needed.
+ Serves as subject matter expert for employee relations COE's, providing guidance, training, and coaching.
**ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
+ Supports the organization's quality program(s).
+ Travels as required.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Education & Licensing**
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred. MBA preferred. SHRM, PHR preferred.
**Experience**
Six (6) years' experience in a human resource generalist capacity specifically demonstrating a working knowledge of employee relations programs and laws and overseeing a wide variety of complex, high risk and sensitive employment-related cases from intake to investigation to resolution and experience in a shared services/internal service delivery role and with HRIS and/or case management tools or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Experience with Workday and ServiceNow preferred.
**Skills & Knowledge**
+ Knowledge of the full range of employee relations (ER) practices; performance management & corrective action support, restructuring & reductions, workplace issues and conflicts including management practices concern, disputes, and appeals, etc.
+ Working understanding of major employment laws Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Age Discrimination Employment Act (ADEA), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and the Title VII Discrimination Act
+ Strong process improvement orientation and willingness to recommend changes to improve applicable functions
+ Ability to analyze information and convert related activities into a comprehensive work plan
+ High integrity, sound judgment and discretion regarding the handling of confidential information
+ Self-driven with a sense of ownership of work product and accountability
+ Ability to identify basic problems and procedural irregularities, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
