JOB SUMMARY:
Help Universal Orlando Resort learn about and improve the experiences of our guests. Interview Specialist 1 will play a key role in assisting the Consumer Insights team in providing business critical information about our guests: where they're from, why they're here, and what they love (and don't) about their experiences with us. The main role is to intercept and qualify guests across Universal Orlando properties to determine whether they are eligible and willing to share feedback with us on a range of topics. Conduct structured surveys with guests and occasionally conduct observations and solicit more open-ended feedback from guests.
Pay Rate: $18.75
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Intercept, recruit, qualify, and complete surveys with guests in a high paced environment at park entrance and exit to obtain information regarding origin and overall park experience, while meeting daily quotas and following specified protocols and guidelines. Includes set up and breakdown of materials.
+ Intercept, recruit and qualify guests in a high paced environment to complete self-administered surveys, including but not limited to QR code surveys on various topics, while meeting daily quotas and following specified protocols and guidelines. Includes set up and breakdown of materials.
+ Conduct brief, semi-structured interviews with guest to collect close and open-ended data on topics of interest. Quickly and faithfully record/type open-ended responses into an iPad and consistently and accurately code responses while meeting daily quotas and following specified protocols and guidelines. Includes set up and breakdown of materials
+ Conduct fixed counts/observations of guest behaviors, interactions, or other observable phenomenon
+ Recruit for focus groups, interviews, and usability studies as needed
+ Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
+ Perform other duties, as assigned
EDUCATION:
High school degree or GED is required.
EXPERIENCE:
Prior research interviewing experience or guest services experience would be a plus; or equivalent combination of education and experience. In addition, applicants should be able to demonstrate the following:
+ Demonstrated ability to strictly adhere to protocols and guidelines
+ Strong interpersonal communication skills; experience approaching and engaging strangers a plus
+ Excellent listening skills and the ability to retain information as people speak
+ Organizational and time management skills
+ Integrity, honesty, and a commitment to the quality, reliability, and confidentiality of data
+ An openness to improve, learn from constructive feedback, and work as a team
+ Flexibility to shift between tasks, manage multiple tasks

Job Description:

Essential Functions
  • Holistic Research Leadership : Design, execute, and analyze a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research studies to address key business questions across the marketing spectrum. This includes, but is not limited to:
  • Product Development : Conduct research on product appeal, sensory analysis, claims testing, and concept validation to guide the innovation pipeline.
  • Shopper Marketing : Uncover insights into the shopper journey, in-store behavior, and the effectiveness of point-of-sale materials and promotions.

  • Storytelling with Data : Go beyond simply reporting data. You will be responsible for synthesizing information from multiple sources into a cohesive and compelling narrative that provides clear, actionable recommendations for the marketing team and senior leadership.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration : Serve as a key partner to the product marketing, shopper marketing, media, and brand communications teams. Proactively share insights and ensure the consumer's voice is integrated into all marketing strategies and plans.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Statistics, Business, Psychology, or a related field.
  • 5-7+ years of experience in a consumer insights or market research role, preferably within the consumer-packaged goods (CPG) or food and beverage industry.
  • Proven experience in designing and leading a variety of research methodologies, including but not limited to focus groups, in-depth interviews, consumer surveys, sensory testing, and market segmentation.
  • A deep knowledge of statistical methods and techniques used in consumer research

**Job Summary**
The Director Consumer Insights is responsible for shaping the understanding of consumer behavior, preferences, and trends. The role leads the efforts to uncover actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making across product, marketing, customer journey, and brand strategy.
**Duties and Responsibilities (other duties as assigned)**
+ Develop and implement a comprehensive consumer research roadmap, incorporating learning objectives from Marketing, Culinary, Operations, Digital Customer Experience and Enterprise Strategy. Ensure research plans address key business questions and supports critical decision-making processes
+ Develop and execute research to understand consumer behavior, preferences, and trends across various demographics and geographies.
+ Recommend a variety of research methodologies, including surveys, interviews, focus groups, ethnographic studies, and data analysis, to gather actionable insights.
+ Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to provide proactive insights that inform business decisions and maintains the brand's competitive edge
+ Translate research findings into compelling narratives and actionable recommendations through reports, presentations, and workshops.
+ Collaborate with external research partners and vendors to augment internal capabilities and resources as needed.
+ Maintain the market research budget
+ Own relationships with research vendors including negotiating terms for projects and services.
+ Drive innovation and continuous improvement within the consumer insights function, leveraging new technologies and methodologies to enhance research capabilities.
+ Manage a Consumer Insights analyst, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to foster growth and development.
**Education, Experience & Certifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Psychology, Sociology, Business, or related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MS) preferred.
+ 12+ years of experience in consumer insights, market research, or related roles, preferably within the e-commerce or retail industry.
**Functional Skills**
+ Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing and developing high-performing teams.
+ Strong proficiency in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, with hands-on experience designing and executing research studies.
+ Excellent analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data sets and extract meaningful insights.
+ Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey insights and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
+ Strategic thinker with a customer-centric mindset and a passion for understanding consumer behavior.
+ Proven track record of driving business impact through consumer insights and research initiatives.

**Job Summary:**
The Brand Insights Manager will be a co-pilot for one of Nestle Waters & Premium Beverage's (NWPB) prestigious brands. You will be responsible for synthesizing, developing, and driving action around consumer insights for the brand(s). You will own both the learning plan and the budget. You will be a strong connection between shopper insights, category strategy, foresight and analytics for CMI.
