The ideal candidate understands the latest tools and trends available for creating specialized content for all digital platforms. This could include creating graphics and interactives for engaging our audience. This person will take part in live and edited video production and distribution using various platforms and techniques.

The producer also writes and curates accurate, high-performing stories and posts, gathers information for news reports, and other digital products. The producer utilizes metrics and real-time data to maximize hourly audiences and build long-term brand loyality.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Evaluate website traffic trends to make decisions on both daily content needs and longer-term content curation that will grow local audience

  • Produce digital original video for news stories, including various versions for social media.

  • Produce content and maintain WFLA’s lifestyle website

  • Fulfilling sponsorship and client content in coordination with our digital marketing team

  • Work with digital managers to create live streaming opportunities and deliver content to CTV apps.

  • Research/gather/analyze information and elements to produce accurate, complete, in-depth, relevant, and fair stories for publication

  • Monitors data on page views and video views, promoting content appropriately to maximize reach

  • Monitors email, social media and other media sources for story leads and ideas.

  • Builds and calendars digital campaigns to promote local shows and specials.

  • Quickly adjust workflow to prioritize breaking news and severe weather coverage

  • Design/develop page layouts and functionalities for special projects

  • Process data for special projects as necessary

  • Will be “super user” on WordPress, including configuration/layout of WFLA’s site (creating widgets, pages and shared pages, navigation etc.)

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues within WFLA’s digital systems/platforms, which may include coordination and communication with corporate digital team

  • Implement corporate digital content initiatives

  • Coordinate integration of WFLA’s content sources, including local livestream sources, Weather Co, Associated Press, Newsticker, election data, etc.

  • Working with marketing, promotions and sales to set up contests, experts and community pages

  • Check SEO performance

  • Fill-in as DCP (publish stories, rank, implement live streams, etc.)

Requirements:

  • 2 years of experience in digital content

  • Highly experienced with CMS and other publishing platforms.

  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator etc. Strong capabilities as a visual storyteller

  • Promote and distribute news and video content on social media

  • Understand use of FTP client.

  • Knowledge of OBS functionality a plus.
