Purpose

The Senior Analyst, Contract Management is responsible for driving detailed execution of contracts in support of accounts aligned to Regions for their dedicated business unit. This role provides expertise on handling RFP/RFI submissions, contract authoring, contract implementation, and contract maintenance. They also are responsible for coordinating the contract implementation workflow, identifying potential gaps, recommending solutions, and sharing standard methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop plans for all incoming deals to include drafting contracts using approved templates and clauses.
  • Ensure development of error proof contract documents, maintaining high attention to details and flawless execution.
  • Work closely with Offer Development and Field Sales on any discrepancy or gaps in pricing approvals.
  • Form strong, trust-based relationships with Account Management, Sales, Offer Development and Contract Strategy.
  • Responsible for contract price activation, including efficient contract set up, ensuring all contract data elements are accurately and consistently entered into appropriate contracting systems.
  • Coordination of price loading where appropriate providing clear and complete price load direction to price load specialists where applicable.
  • Implementation of price changes resulting from contract maintenance activity to include scheduled price increases stipulated in the contract and compliance price adjustments for noncompliant accounts.
  • Generate contract price files, IDN roster maintenance on contracts, creation of member-add letters, and draft amendments.
  • Maintain assigned SOPs and Work Instructions.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum of a Bachelors degree required
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Contracting & Pricing or related business experience within J&J, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or legal field.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with ability to self-manage in a complex, time-sensitive environment
  • Ability to work well in a cross-functional environment, effectively influencing, aligning, and building support across a complex set of collaborators and leadership teams
  • Ability to drive adherence to protocols and business rules
  • Demonstrated ability to understand business products and offerings, strategies, and business objectives

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $77,000 to $124,200.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporations performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Companys discretion on an individual basis.

Purpose

The Lead Analyst, Contract Management will be part of the Commercial Contract Management organization is responsible for driving flawless implementation of contracts and pricing strategies throughout the contract continuum from developing paper through contract load and maintenance and providing effective and efficient contract review and negotiation for commercial contracts. The Lead Analyst will be the expert on handling RFP/RFI submissions, contract authoring, contract implementation, and contract maintenance. These responsibilities include coordinating the contract implementation workflow, identifying potential gaps, recommending solutions, and sharing best practices. The Lead Analyst is also responsible for review and redlines of contract terms and conditions in close coordination with Legal, Offer Development, Finance, and the Field Sales Organization. This role works in close collaboration with the Field Sales Organization, Account Management, Contract Strategy, Deal Desk/Offer Development, Finance, Marketing and other partners such as Legal, Health Care Compliance, Government Compliance, Privacy, Supply Chain, IT, etc. to ensure the most effective offering is made to the customer and that this offer can then be efficiently administered through the contracting system. Thus, the contract management space effectively must bring together people, process, system and policy to ensure the written word in the contract can be managed and administered throughout our contracting and order management systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with J&J MedTech Account Management and Offer Development team members to proactively support and influence contracting needs for our top customer segment.
  • At the direction of management, direct and manage commercial contract terms and conditions negotiation.
  • Support and help prioritize and manage workload queue.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate terms and conditions in commercial contract documents, and participate in customer calls as necessary.
  • Work with the Senior Manager, Contact Management to facilitate internal contract approval and stakeholder negotiation to resolve complex issues and assist in disputes (e.g., escalating complex legal and factual issues to the appropriate internal parties, e.g., Commercial Operations, Supply Chain, Human Resources, Corporate Risk Management, Health Care Compliance, Privacy, Commercial Programs Legal Group (CPLG)).
  • Develop and maintain positive business partnering relationships with Legal, Offer Development, Health Care Compliance and Field Sales Organization.
  • Proactively support the design and implementation of systems, processes, and controls to track and manage the contracting process to enhance efficiency and compliance.
  • When assigned, facilitate effective communication and collaboration with internal partners, consistent with company mission and values, to ensure that actions taken reflect terms of contracts and agreements. Provide regular mentorship and training to Contract Management team members and to business partners to ensure they understand contractual requirements as well as the general legal and compliance environment.
  • Ensuring conformity to business needs, accurate risk allocation, and compliance with Johnson & Johnson policies and procedures
  • Partner with Offer Development and Field to resolve any discrepancy or gaps in pricing approvals.
  • Implementation of price changes resulting from contract maintenance activity to include scheduled price increases stipulated in the contract and compliance price adjustments for noncompliant accounts.
  • Generate contract price files, integrated delivery network (IDN) roster maintenance on contracts, creation of member-add letters, and draft amendments.
  • Develop and maintain contract templates in contracting systems in support of approved MedTech contract pricing strategies.
  • Write and/or maintain assigned standard operating procedures and work instructions and help monitor adherence for related processes.
  • Provide timely response to internal and external audit requests.
  • Help update and maintain Contract Management SharePoint drives.
  • Other projects or assignments as directed by Management.

Qualifications

Required:

  • A minimum of a BS/BA is required. A degree in Business, Finance, or Sales & Marketing is preferred. MBA preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in Contracting & Pricing or related business experience within J&J, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or legal field.
  • Location: Raritan, NJ; Raynham, MA; West Chester, PA; Warsaw, IN; Cincinnati, OH; Irvine, CA.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and ability to self-manage in a sophisticated, deadline driven environment is required.
  • Capable of drafting complex contract terms and conditions, attention to detail, reviewing contracts for conformity to policies, identifying and assessing risks, with the drive to understand JJMT products and offering, strategies, and business objectives is required.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead, influence all levels of the organization, a willingness to take prudent risks, and indirectly manage cross functional teams is required.
  • Excellent communication skills, including giving presentations to executive leadership, building and maintaining relationships at all levels in the organization is required.
  • Strong level of ownership and drive for meeting/exceeding expectations is required.
  • Ability to work independently and complete all business projects according to agreed upon timelines is required.
  • Ability to drive adherence to protocols and business rules is required.
  • Ability to work well in a cross-functional environment and build support across a complex set of collaborators, including the ability to influence and align complex groups of collaborators towards overall business objectives is required.
  • Ability to form strong, trust-based relationships with CPLG, Account Management, Franchises, Offer Development, and Contract Strategy is required.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, including track changes and document compare, is required.

Preferred

  • Experience with and a demonstrated ability to work within a matrix commercial organization, including field sales teams, contracting, and financial profitability is preferred.
  • Deep experience with the JJMT Contracting systems and support tools is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Orthopedics business, its products and strategies.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $91,000 to $147,200.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporations performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Companys discretion on an individual basis.
