The Oral Surgery Billing Specialist is responsible for managing the billing and reimbursement process for oral surgery procedures. This may include verifying insurance coverage, coding claims accurately, submitting claims, following up on unpaid claims, and ensuring timely payments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of oral surgery billing practices, dental and medical insurance processes, and exceptional attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
• Insurance Verification and Coordination:
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits before procedures.
- Obtain prior authorizations for oral surgery procedures when needed.
- Coordinate benefits between medical and dental insurance plans.
• Claims Submission and Management:
- Accurately verify codes and submit claims using ICD-10, CPT, and CDT codes.
- Ensure compliance with payer guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Resolve discrepancies or denials in a timely manner.
• Accounts Receivable Management:
- Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding claims.
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve claim issues or delays.
- Post insurance payments and adjustments accurately.
• Patient Billing and Communication:
- Prepare and send patient statements for balances owed.
- Help to handle patient billing inquiries and explain charges or insurance denials.
• Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of billing activities and insurance correspondence.
- Generate regular reports on accounts receivable, claims status, and payment trends and report those to practice leader and RCM advisor.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Prior experience in dental billing with a focus on both insurance A/R and patient A/R
- Strong understanding of dental insurance processes, claims follow-up, and patient collections
- Proficiency in billing software (OMS Vision experience is a plus)
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
• High School Diploma or equivalency, required.
• Associate's degree or certification in medical/billing or coding, preferred.
Experience:
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in dental or medical billing (experience in oral surgery billing preferred).
• Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and CDT coding.
• Familiarity with dental/medical billing software (e.g., WinOMS, DSN, Sensei, etc).
• Knowledge of medical and dental insurance processes, including coordination of benefits.

The Development Specialist plays a key role in planning, implementing, and managing development activities and projects for Little Flower Children and Family Services of New York and its affiliate, St. John's Residence for Boys. This position is responsible for supporting development efforts, cultivating relationships with mid-level donors, and ensuring that resources are effectively allocated to drive the organization's growth, financial sustainability, and mission success.
This role will plan, organize and execute fundraising events to support development goals. This role manages event logistics and relationships with internal and external constituents. Events include but are not limited to galas, cocktail receptions, golf outings, donor cultivation events and community events to raise funds and engage community members. The Development Specialist will partner with fellow Strategy, Development and Communications team members to identify and achieve a variety of development objectives.
This role will assist in grant writing by researching funding opportunities, crafting persuasive grant proposals and managing the grant application process, including meeting deadlines and building relationships with funders.
In addition, this position manages volunteer committees organized to raise funds and community groups. This includes recruiting volunteers, providing logistical support, recognizing their contributions and hosting meetings.
The Development Specialist reports to the Director of Major Gifts and collaborates with their team members, the Senior Executive Committee (SEC), program leadership, the human resources department, board members, current and new supporters and volunteers to identify and fulfill the material and financial needs of the affiliated organization through the full range of development activities.
