- Manage all aspects of financial reporting, including month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
- Prepare financial statements and management reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.

Description:
Accountable for supporting the Director of Operations in the development of financial plans and forecasts and the analysis of operational results. Provide leadership and direction to the finance department staff. Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the Location's business and related issues and maintain ongoing communications with HFS headquarters finance organization.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Develops policies and procedures relative to the organization's accounting practices.
- Oversees the activities of the general and property accounting, internal auditing, cost accounting, budgetary controls and occasionally the data processing functions of the corporation.
- Plans and directs accounting activities within a finance department or division of an organization by performing the following duties, personally or through subordinates.
- Assists in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to financial management, budget, accounting, and/or payroll.
- Manage team by establishing monthly and quarterly performance goals, allocating resources, assessing annual performance, and determining individual merit, incentive and/or promotional increases in support of company goals.
- Prepare the location's annual financial budget for presentation to HQ.
- Daily engagement with Operations to provide a financial perspective during decision making and ensure compliance.
- Oversee general accounting, property accounting, inventory control, internal auditing, office equipment control and record retention programs.
- Direct the preparation of statistics for periodic and yearly financial statements, including the preparation of charts and graphs showing progress, conditions and results.
- Responsible for the 8-hour closing process on WD1 and reporting of results to HQ.
- Develop and monitor inventory control procedures affecting all warehouse operations and take physical inventories.
- Co-ordinate the preparation of the location's capital expenditure requests for submission to HQ for approval, ensuring all requirements are fulfilled.
- Consolidate capital assets, maintenance and company operating budgets, check appropriate requests against approved budgets for availability of fund prior to commitment and exercise accounting control to ensure that budgeted expenditures do not exceed amounts authorized.
- Interpret operating results as the affect the financial aspects of the organization and make specific recommendations which will result in cost reduction and profit improvement.
- Directs internal audits involving review of accounting and administrative controls. Co-ordinates preparation of external audit materials and external financial reporting.
- Co-ordinate the location's ASAT (audit self-assessment tool) program for monitoring internal controls and identifying areas for improvement. Ensure full compliance with SOX and US GAAP requirements as per Company policies.
- Preparation of rolling quarterly forecasts and bridge comparisons with prior versions and periods.
- Develop the location's Finance team and ensure direct reports are challenged and cross-functional to ensure task coverage.
- Support other Controllers within the Division in specific areas of acquired expertise.
- Co-ordination with shared services on GL, AR, AP and Credit.
Basic Qualifications:
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in finance or business, with a major emphasis in finance or accounting.
- Minimum of 7 years progressive experience in a finance/accounting position
- Minimum of 3 years' finance experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs required

Preferred Experience and Background:
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- MBA, CMA and/or CPA

Position Summary:
The Accounting Manager/Controller will oversee all accounting functions and lead a small team in managing the financial health of the organization. This role requires a strong background in accounting within a professional services environment and a proactive approach to managing payroll, receivables, payables, compliance, and reporting. Job Description
As a Plant Controller for our Irvine factory within the Photonics Solutions Division, you will partner cross functionally across all business groups to drive the financial and strategic objectives for the facility. In this role, you will report to Senior Controller, Global Operations.
You Make an Impact By:
- Support and collaborate with the local Cost Accounting and Business Unit Finance Teams.
- Manage month-end closing and prepare monthly financial statements and other operational reports for the site.
- Analyze variances and communicate explanations to management with recommended actions.
- Prepare forecasts of income statement, balance sheets, and statement of cash flows for each of the Plants.
- Work across organization boundaries and all levels of the company to achieve plant or corporate objectives.
- Share best practices across global finance team, e.g. process improvements, financial modeling, and procedure changes.
- Provide proactive/unsolicited consultation, interpretation, and education of complex financial and operational matters to various departmental leaders used to drive business decisions.
- Collaborate with the Director of Manufacturing, Operations Controllers, and Senior Management to explain results, make improvements, manage projects, identify inefficiencies, understand operations, and lead the development of complex analyses.
- Monitor and implement plant internal controls (in conjunction with corporate policies) as necessary to ensure reporting integrity, safeguard company assets, and identify risks.
- Ensure proper accounting in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles as well as local statutory requirements.
Skills You Bring:
- Bachelor or Masters degree in Business, Economics, Finance, and/or Accounting.
- 10+ years of related experience.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
- FP&A and Cost accounting experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in MS Office.
- Ability to lead and motivate teams in a matrix environment to reach a common goal.
- Must demonstrate the highest standards of personal and professional integrity and character and promote ethical business behavior throughout the organization.
- Must be a team player and act cooperatively with the business.
- Demonstrate strong and pragmatic business acumen.
Preferred Skills: (Optional)
- SAP ERP software - experience strongly preferred.
- Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) system is a plus.
- Good planning and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Experience in handling multiple concurrent tasks and meeting strict deadlines.

Compensation and Benefits:
Salary Pay Range: $160,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs, and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.
Bonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS (or as applicable).
