Job Description
What will you do?
- Design of cooling, humidity control, air renovation systems, and critical equipment needs for the construction of the modular data centers.
- Perform cooling calculations for heat load, cooling capacity, airflow, ventilation, humidity control, and pPUE calculations.
- Choose appropriate mechanical equipment including coolers, heaters, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, ERVs, and ventilation fans.
- Design and develop mechanical schedules, piping one-lines, and system sequences of operations.
- Conduct CFD simulations utilizing Schneider IT Design CFD (training provided) for airflow modeling.
- Coordinate with other discipline engineers to ensure proper installation and compliance with applicable codes and standards via internal processes and design reviews.
- Solicit, review, and approve sub-consultant proposals and designs.
- Participate in customer meetings to discuss design requirements and constraints.
- Develop Bill of Materials for mechanical components of the system design.
- Provide support to factory production personnel and site integration teams by answering Requests for Information and providing onsite support as needed.
- Occasional travel, up to 15%.
- Participate in lessons learned activities and drive continuous improvement efforts within the team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to simplify complex technical details for various stakeholders.
- Ability to collaboratively work with subcontractors and specialists for seamless project execution.
- Enthusiastic about finding creative and innovative solutions and optimizing challenges in daily tasks.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and standards/codes.
- Proficient in data analysis, troubleshooting, and test setups.
- Fluent in verbal and written English

- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering (HVAC or Thermal Dynamics concentration preferred).
- 3+ years in cooling system design and implementation, particularly in the data center industry.
- Proven experience in designing and troubleshooting DX Refrigerant Systems, Chilled Water Systems, Economizer Systems (Air Side, Water Side, Refrigerant), and Airflow Management Systems
- Experience with Autodesk REVIT, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and Bluebeam is essential.
- Strong knowledge of refrigerant DX system theory and detailed design of chilled water systems
- Understanding of data center airflow management architecture and cooling solutions.
- Experience with Liquid Cooling Systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as TC9.9, Uptime Tier Topology, and ASHRAE 90.1 & 90.4.
- Knowledge and experience interpreting industry codes such as NFPA, IECC, IBC, IMC, and Refrigerant Safety Codes.
- Knowledgeable of UL2755 certification requirements.

- Research, qualify and summarize new technologies

- Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering, PE preferred

Job Description:
As an Automotive Cooling System Design and Release Engineer, you will be a key member of our dynamic team focused on designing, developing, validating, and releasing advanced cooling components for electrified vehicles. These critical components, including cooling module assemblies, transmission oil coolers, hose and tube assemblies, electric coolant heaters, valves, pumps, and air induction system components, are essential to ensure the optimal performance and efficiency of our electrified vehicles. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing suppliers, and utilizing your technical expertise to drive the success of our cutting-edge projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Lead the end-to-end design, development, validation, and release of various cooling components, ensuring they’re properly integrated and meet all functional objectives both at component
•Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that cooling components meet performance, safety, and quality standards, while contributing to the overall vehicle objectives.
•Create, maintain, and manage the Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R) and Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) documents for cooling components, ensuring comprehensive validation and risk management.
•Drive the achievement of program timing milestones by effectively coordinating tasks, resources, and activities within the project timeline.
•Apply Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) principles to guide the development process and ensure robust product launches.
•Utilize Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) tools to conduct simulations and analyses, optimizing component designs for efficiency and performance.
•Leverage expertise in software tools including KULI, STAR CCM, CATIA V5, Unigraphics NX, Vis Mockup, and TeamCenter to design, visualize, and communicate component designs effectively.
•Apply Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) methodologies to enhance the quality, reliability, and performance of cooling system components.
•Take ownership of managing the suppliers, ensuring their alignment with technical requirements, project goals and delivery of high-quality components and root causing issues when they arise.
•Collaborate with manufacturing, testing, and quality teams to seamlessly integrate cooling components into the vehicle architecture.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
- 0-3 years of experience in automotive engineering, with a focus on designing and releasing cooling system components for electrified vehicles.
- Strong understanding of cooling system components, such as heat exchangers, electric motor driven fan modules, engine driven fans and clutches
- Strong understanding of electrical circuits, electric motors
- Strong understanding of fluid dynamics
- Proficiency in using CATIA V5 and/or Unigraphics NX for component design and modeling.

Senior Mechanical Commissioning Engineer – Liquid Cooling Systems – Atlanta, GA
This opportunity is with a Leader in Critical Facilities Assessment and Commissioning Services in the U.S., supporting complex mechanical infrastructure for Enterprise, Colocation, and Hyperscale Data Centers. We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Commissioning Engineer with specialized experience in liquid cooling systems, process piping, and water treatment technologies. This position will play a critical role in the commissioning and validation of mechanical systems within mission-critical facilities, ensuring these environments perform to the highest standards in uptime and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Execute Level 1–5 commissioning for mission-critical environments, ensuring thorough testing, verification, and documentation
- Commission advanced liquid cooling systems, including chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, water-cooled technologies, and process piping systems
- Apply a deep understanding of cooling technologies, water treatment, and HVAC systems in data centers or similar high-stakes environments
- Conduct equipment pre-start-up and start-up procedures, develop SOPs and MOPs, and complete comprehensive commissioning documentation
- Prepare and execute commissioning test procedures and functional tests for all major MEP systems
- Develop and maintain commissioning logs, equipment checklists, and issue tracking tools
- Write detailed commissioning reports, including operational recommendations, functional testing checklists, and deficiency lists
- Review project documents including design drawings, submittals, and specifications, providing feedback to ensure design intent is met
- Interface with clients, vendors, contractors, and project stakeholders, acting as the commissioning lead on-site
- Assist with field troubleshooting, confirm results of test reports, and work with QA/QC teams to meet project goals
- Support integrated system testing and load bank testing
- Attend and contribute to commissioning meetings, construction coordination sessions, and interface with all facets of the company
Qualifications:
- 8–13 years of experience in mechanical/HVAC commissioning, with a strong emphasis on liquid cooling systems and process piping
- Proven commissioning experience in mission-critical industries such as data centers, pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, or other industrial environments
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred
- PE or EIT license a strong plus
- LEED Accreditation is a plus
- Experience with ASHRAE standards, especially ASHRAE T.C. 9.9, is highly desirable
- Advanced understanding of water-cooled systems, chilled water loops, water treatment processes, and thermal system dynamics
- Strong technical writing and communication skills—must be able to generate thorough, professional documentation
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Project
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
- Previous experience in the military or veteran status a huge plus! Ideal candidates include those with mechanical or electrical backgrounds in the Navy (EMN, ETN, MMNs, Seabees), Army (Power Generation), Air Force (Power Production), Generator Techs, Maritime, Coast Guard, or National Guard

Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Technician at Chesapeake Cooling Solutions LLC located in Glen Burnie, MD. The Technician will be responsible for but not limited to day-to-day tasks related to the maintenance and repair of cooling systems, troubleshooting technical issues, and providing support for installation projects. This position is responsible for a series of operations to correctly disassemble, clean, assemble, and test engine cooling system components.
Qualifications
Experience with the service and application of radiators, condensers, oil coolers, inter-coolers, heat exchangers, welding fabrication, aftertreatment systems and cooling systems (marine, agricultural, off/on highway, rail/industrial engines, critical power) preferred but not required. Technical knowledge in identification of mechanical components in cooling systems. Ability to diagnose and repair technical issues efficiently. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Forklift Certification and DOT Medical card is a plus. Ability to measure and accurately document work performed and parts used.
Requirements
Valid Drivers license and reliable transportation. Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Self-starter and motivated to be successful in a team environment. This job involves a significant amount of physical activity, requiring good leg and back strength to sustain standing and bending postures for extended periods of time.
