Associate Director of Copywriting - Healthcare & Patient Engagement
A leading content and brand experience agency is seeking a Associate Director of Copywriting to join its healthcare division, focused on developing content that informs, supports, and empowers patients and caregivers across large-scale pharmaceutical programs. This division specializes in translating complex medical and regulatory information into experiences that are accessible, engaging, and actionable.
As Associate Director of Copy, you'll lead the development of content for major healthcare clients, with a strong focus on patient support programs and multichannel campaigns. You'll manage the tone, voice, and messaging across key accounts, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy, creativity, and compliance in every deliverable.
What You'll Do:
- Lead the planning, development, and editing of content across patient, caregiver, and professional-facing communications
- Translate strategic objectives into compelling copy that adheres to regulatory and medical standards
- Collaborate with account, design, and strategy teams to ensure content aligns with program goals and brand tone
- Provide editorial leadership and mentorship to copywriters and junior team members
- Guide content through the medical/legal/regulatory (MLR) review process, ensuring precision and clarity in all materials
- Work directly with client stakeholders to present ideas, discuss messaging, and refine deliverables
- Balance content quality and volume in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Contribute to the creation of content across formats: video scripts, digital assets, social media, print, and live experiences
- Maintain a deep understanding of healthcare compliance and brand voice integrity
- Deep experience writing for pharmaceutical Patient Support Programs (PSPs) or healthcare communications
- Proven ability to lead content strategy, development, and execution within regulatory frameworks
- Strong editorial sensibility and attention to detail
- Skilled communicator, able to simplify complex information while preserving accuracy and tone
- Experience managing and mentoring creative teams
- Ability to present and defend creative work to senior client stakeholders
- High level of organization and accountability, with the ability to juggle multiple content streams
- 8+ years in healthcare/pharmaceutical marketing, ideally in roles such as Associate Copy Director, Group Copy Supervisor, or similar
- Fluency in medical/legal/regulatory (MLR) processes and terminology
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
- Excellent grammar, editing, and storytelling abilities

**Job Description**
The Content Lead within Firmwide Marketing will be a core member of a team responsible for shaping ideas, offering creative guidance and integrated execution, and managing the flow of Firm thought leadership from the Firm's Investment Management business and its Global Sustainability Office, all within the larger context and narrative of the Brokerage brand and its core values. This individual will work in partnership with teams in Corporate Communications/Earned Media, Paid Advertising, Digital Marketing and others to amplify content across the Firm's content channels. Building and maintaining strategic relationships with key partners in Investment Management and Global Sustainability will be critical to generating a steady flow of content, which can range from feature and short-form articles to videos and podcasts, among other storytelling formats.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in managing a newsroom-style digital publication, whether in a media organization or financial services firm. They should have an instinct for narratives that balance the key priorities of business stakeholders with the need to attract a broad audience interested in insights on markets, economies and investment trends. They should be subject matter experts in the ways that audiences interacts with digital content on multiple devices and platforms in an always-on and interconnected world.
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree required with 10+ years managing and/or editing investment-related content for mass media or a large corporation, with multiple stakeholders and a broad audience. Familiarity with the financial services industry, global markets and sector dynamics required.
+ Strong editorial instincts that can quickly absorb complex ideas and broad context and reframe for engaged and motivated but nonexpert audiences.
+ Expert rewrite editor who can seamlessly apply style and structure, while maintaining a consistently approachable yet sophisticated narrative voice.
+ Expert at managing a network of multimedia content originators for web, social, mobile, video, audio and other digital channels.
+ Expert in the dynamics of online content creation, management and curation to drive brand reputation, new business and to support existing clients.
+ Able to thrive in fast-paced environment and adapt/reprioritize accordingly with ease.
+ Experience using a CMS to manage real-time content.
+ Experience with SEO and using analytics to drive content creation and management.
+ Experience using generative AI in content creation and amplification preferred.
