Responsibilities

Job Summary: This position is responsible for providing care to the patient who is hemodynamically unstable and requires complex monitoring of multiple systems and/or nursing interventions every one to two hours.

St Elizabeth is a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital located in the town of Enumclaw Washington with a fully equipped 4 bed Critical Care department.Critical Care has additional support through Virtual ICU with expert nurses and providers.Critical Care RNs work collaboratively with Hospitalists and practice a great deal of autonomy as they provide best patient care.St. Elizabeth is the highest performing CHI Franciscan hospital for patient experience in Washington.

Essential Duties: Provides continuous cardiac monitoring, arrhythmia recognition and intervention.Initiates and titrates multiple, complex cardiac related infusions at higher doses.Manages intubated/mechanically ventilated patients.Manages patients with acute neurological/neurosurgical events.Manages acute trauma patients.Performs related duties as required.

Qualifications

Education & Experience: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.Possession of a BSN degree is preferred.Previous PCU/ICU experience preferred, or1-2 years med/surg experience and successful completion of critical care residency program, orRNs with at least 1 year of continuous Inpatient experience will be considered

License & Certification: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse issued by the Washington State Board of Nursing.Current Healthcare BLS Certification.Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or attainment within six months of hire.CCRN/Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse (CNRN) preferred.

As a member of the Critical Care Response Transport Team, the Registered Nurse provides patient assessment, critical nursing care, and transport services to patients. The Nurse is responsible for supervising patient care, treatment, and assessment during transport. Duties include providing excellent patient care, safe lifting and transferring of patients, operating emergency vehicles safely, adhering to company policies, completing documentation, responding to dispatch instructions, maintaining safety standards, participating in continuing education, keeping vehicles and stations clean, maintaining equipment and supplies, communicating effectively, and maintaining strict confidentiality.

Valid driver’s license with no more than 2 incidents on MVR.

Patient transport experience preferred.

BSN preferred.

EMT-B bridge course will be offered upon hire.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting in a vehicle and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times.

Ability to bend and stoop, ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time, possess hand-eye-foot coordination and color recognition, good manual dexterity, with the ability to perform all tasks related to Emergency Medical Services Duty.

Wages :

Our wage range is $51.91-$70.44 per hour, depending on length of licensure. Shifts are generally 24 hours, so overtime is built in for fulltime schedules.

JOB OVERVIEW: The Clinical Nurse Specialist-Educator will promote excellence in nursing as a key resource for nursing professional development. The Clinical Nurse Specialist-Educator will collaborate with nursing management and staff to assess, plan, develop, implement, facilitate, evaluate orientation/onboarding, competencies, professional development, and role transitions for assigned units. The Clinical Nurse Specialist-Educator will collaborate with members of the interprofessional healthcare team to identify and address knowledge gaps. The Clinical Nurse Specialist-Educator will disseminate research and evidence-based practice findings to relevant healthcare teams.

WORK HOURS: 40 hours/week . Hours may vary to cover service needs. Evening or weekend hours required occasionally.

REPORTS TO: Director, Professional Development & Education (PDE)

PREREQUISITES:

Bachelor’s degree in nursing, required. Master’s degree, preferred.

RN license to practice in WA State, required.

Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates competency assessment program for assigned unit/units. Reviews and revises when changes have occurred, or new assessments have been identified.

Uses organizational standards and quality improvement/patient safety data to help identify required competency assessments.

Selects assessment verification method(s) that accurately measures competency for cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains.

Professional Development

Collaborates with key stakeholders, to identify gaps in practice that can be addressed with educational interventions.

Educates staff on clinical care of patients (patient population specific, generalized care, equipment, workflows, documentation, etc.).

Provides input to the service area managers in developing budgets and cost-benefit analyses for educational programs.
