Salary Range: $104,000 - $130,000
Your RoleProject Management for new client or service implementations. Responsible for developing solutions for new, potential, and integrated clients and demonstrating the value of services to secure new business commitments. Collaborate with Brokerage Management and Business Development to implement customer solutions aimed at acquiring and retaining customer revenue. Project Management for new client or service implementations.
What Are You Going To Do?- Collaborate closely with the product management team to analyze critical business practices, identify efficiencies achievable through process alignment and/or improvement.
- Develop business change models by assessing current process capabilities, analyzing performance measures, identifying improvements, and quantifying outcomes. Recommend strategies and implement solutions for the initiation of new operations.
- Ensure the deployment of standard approaches to process design and improvement, as well as identifying, advancing, and applying new tools.
- Foster and cultivate positive and professional relationships with executive-level customers and colleagues.
- Focus on developing and securing incremental revenue and market share from existing customers and new business opportunities to achieve profitable volume growth.
- Provide strategic direction for all aspects of multiple high-volume supply chain/logistics operations to ensure consistent high-level service quality, customer satisfaction, profitability, post-efficient operations, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Works with operation teams and Accounts Receivable Department to analyze profitability of the accounts.
- Takes a lead role in addressing profitability problems and implementing clients on the various automation and risk reduction programs.
- Identify, initiate, plan and manage automation projects with qualified clients.
- Prioritizes development of profiles based on known or highly suspected profitability problems with select clients.
- Tracks progress against objectives in rectifying profitability issues.
- Probes with clients to obtain all necessary details related to a rate request.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field preferred; or equivalent combination of work experience and completion of the LDP program.
- Minimum seven years industry experience preferred.
- US Customs Brokerage license preferred, not required.
- Knowledgeable and experienced with Chapter 19 of the Code of Federal Regulation (19CFR) and the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the US (USHTS).
- Experienced in the development of reporting techniques and analysis for root-cause examination and improvement operations.
- Experienced in the application of audit methodology to ensure existing guidelines, procedures, and regulatory compliance requirements are met by all product and regional locations.
Skills:
- Ability to define, develop, and implement analysis tools to measure and review existing operations and guidelines to ensure compliance and efficiency in import operations.
- Skilled in collaborative management and motivational techniques.
- Excellent planning, time management, collaboration, decision-making, organization, presentation, and negotiating skills.
- Ability to develop short and long-range project planning and effectively communicate information to diverse work groups.

- Assist with compliance matters, including verifying power of attorney, conducting in-depth research, and developing classification
- Educate customers on Brokerage operations to help increase sales
What you'll need to excel:
At a minimum, you'll need:
- Customs Brokerage license
- 4 years of relevant experience
- Experience with Windows applications and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project), including creating complex formulas in Excel
- Solid knowledge of customs and participating government agency regulations, and the harmonized tariff schedule
- Knowledge of accounting functions and relative information retrieval

- Associate or bachelor's degree, or equivalent related work or military experience
- 2 years of experience in a supervisory or specialist role
- Project management experience

The Customs Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing all customs and trade compliance activities for the company. Key Responsibilities:
- Become the face of the customs team across the organization. Engaging with every level of leadership to grow the Customs team customer base
- Lead a targeted customs team located across the nation to review and resolve compliance issues, continuously enhancing our processes to prevent potential issues
- Train new Entry Writers on operations, compliance, and systems
- Respond to internal and external customer inquiries and follow up to ensure issue resolution and customer satisfaction
- Oversee the provision of customs brokerage services to TQL Globals customers
- Develop, implement, and continuously enhance all Customs brokerage policies and procedures
- Assist in mapping company process flows and continuously review to identify efficiency gains
- Review, file, audit and process US Customs documents
- Review and monitor all Customs rejections, requests for information, and other inquiries
- Resolve Customs and import compliance issues
- Maintain up-to-date customer records and documentation
- Stay current with developments and changes in regulations and other government requirements
Qualifications:
- 6+ years experience in Customs Brokerage
- Bachelors degree in supply chain, business, economics, or related field preferred
- Strong understanding of US Customs and related laws, regulations and requirements
- Proven results contributing directly to growth of a Customs Brokerage business
- Track record of leading, training, and coaching others

- Ability to mentor and lead the New York Customs Brokerage team.
- Ability to oversee the correct and timely creation and transmission of entries to US Customs.

We provide our customers with import and export services, as well as door-to-door services for both international and domestic needs. We remain competitive by offering a wide range of logistics services, including: ocean and air freight, rail, trucking, warehousing and distribution, customs brokerage, cargo insurance and more.
About the Position Duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
- Manages subordinate supervisors/managers in the Customs Brokerage department.
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
- Directly supervises non-supervisory employees.
- Carry out supervisory responsibility in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include; interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Prepares entry papers from shipper's invoice in accordance with U.S. Customs Service regulations, and regulations of other federal agencies bearing on importation of goods such as Environmental Protection Agency and Food and Drug Administration.
- Files papers with Customs Service and arranges for payment of duties.
- Quotes duty rates on goods to be imported.
- Prepares papers for shippers desiring to appeal duty charges imposed by Customs Service.
- Provides for storage of imported goods and for transportation of imported goods from port to destination final destination.
- Classifies codes for U.S. Customs and ensuring that duties/taxes/fees are paid.
- Complies with U.S. Customs by keeping digital and hard copies of records on file.

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Qualifications
- Experience with Entry Writing, U.S. Customs
- Good working knowledge of harmonized Tariff, CROSS, U.S. Customs Regulations
- Experience managing a team of Entry Writers.
- Customs Broker License is required.
$100,000-$120,000 base salary based on education and experience level.
