Overview
Intrepid Solutions has a need for a Cybersecurity Analyst to support our US Army TENCAP client as theyenable the Army to rapidly exploit and influence national capabilities and architecturesin Alexandria, VA.
Responsibilities
The Cybersecurity Analyst shall:
-
Provide Cybersecurity guidance and documentation throughout the system development life cycle.
-
Provide Cybersecurity guidance at meetings, briefings, and design reviews.
-
Provide Cybersecurity guidance regarding currently applicable Cybersecurity regulations and policies.
-
Provide Assessment & Authorization expertise.
-
Provide hardware and software assessment regarding Cybersecurity effectiveness.
-
Ensure systems remain compliant with Cybersecurity policies.
-
Provide cybersecurity acquisition services.
OPERATING HOURS AND EXPECTATIONS:
- This position anticipates standard work hours, Monday-Friday and will operate 100% onsite.
TRAVEL:
- Limited or minimal travel expected.
Qualifications
CLEARANCE:
- Active TS/SCI clearance required. We are unable to provide sponsorship of initial clearance or upgrade of existing clearance.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field +10 years of work experience OR 15 years of work experience
CERTIFICATION(S):

DOD and Army training requirements - DOD 8140.01, Cyberspace Workforce Management; DFARS , Information Assurance Contractor Training and Certification; AR 25-2, Information Assurance

Baseline certification as stipulated in DODD 8140.01

IAM Level III or IAT Level III baseline certification

IAW DOD 8570.01 certification
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
-
20+ years of progressively complex cybersecurity experience in the design, development, integration, test, certification, and accreditation of security solutions for DOD or IC intelligence systems.

15+ years of experience in applying Risk Management Framework (ICD 503) for the accreditation of DOD or IC Information Technology Systems.
-
10+ years of cybersecurity experience supporting DOD acquisition programs / projects, to include:
-
Development of system security requirements
-
Post Milestone "B" and "C" cyber documentation
-
Cybersecurity support for prototype testing.
-
Proficiency in LINUX, to include: command-line proficiency; understanding LINUX file systems and networking concepts; scripting & automation; system administration.

Hardware experience:
-
Knowledge of and experience with configuring network components
-
Knowledge of secure network transport components and configuration
-
Experience in development of Network Topology for connected classified systems
-
Experience in development, configuration, and deployment (connection approvals) of Cross Domain Solutions (CDS).

Evaluation of cost goals to achieve an Initial Authorization and a final Authority to Operate (ATO).

Experience in cybersecurity support for Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), and Final Design Review (FDR).

Cloud development in AWS, to include instance management, cyber requirements, and image control.

Compliance with DOD and Army training requirements inDOD 8140.01, Cyberspace Workforce Management; DFARS , Information Assurance Contractor Training and Certification; AR 25-2, Information Assurance.

Subject to investigative and assignment requirements IAW AR 25-2, AR 380-67, Personnel Security Program, and related regulations.

The Cybersecurity Analyst III will support the Department of Defense (DoD) Chief Information Officer (CIO) by providing cybersecurity policy, risk management, and governance support to the Information Portfolio Management, Modernization, and Capabilities (PM2C) Council. The analyst will help integrate cybersecurity considerations into IT modernization planning and ensure that new capabilities align with DoD cybersecurity frameworks and risk tolerance thresholds. This mid-level position will contribute to enterprise security posture improvement and support coordination across Components and governance bodies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the integration of cybersecurity requirements into modernization strategies, investment planning, and capability assessments.
• Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments for proposed or ongoing IT modernization initiatives.
• Contribute to the development of cybersecurity-related governance documents, policies, and standards in support of PM2C.
• Track implementation of cybersecurity policy guidance across portfolios and assist in identifying areas of non-compliance.
• Participate in working groups and cross-functional forums to advise on risk management, security architecture, and technical mitigation strategies.
• Support preparation of briefings and reports for senior DoD CIO leadership related to cybersecurity posture and strategic initiatives.
• Assist in aligning capability development with DoD cybersecurity standards, including RMF, NIST 800-53, and DoDI 8500.01.
• Maintain awareness of evolving cybersecurity threats and trends relevant to DoD IT systems.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Active Top Secret / SCI (TS/SCI) clearance.
• 5-8 years of experience in cybersecurity, risk management, or information assurance, preferably within a DoD or federal environment.
• Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity frameworks including RMF, NIST SP 800-53, and CNSSI 1253.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity policies, governance structures, and technical assessments.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred:

+ Development of system security requirements
+ Post Milestone "B" and "C" cyber documentation
+ Cybersecurity support for prototype testing.
+ Proficiency in LINUX, to include: command-line proficiency; understanding LINUX file systems and networking concepts; scripting & automation; system administration.
+ Hardware experience:
+ Knowledge of and experience with configuring network components
+ Knowledge of secure network transport components and configuration
+ Experience in development of Network Topology for connected classified systems
+ Experience in development, configuration, and deployment (connection approvals) of Cross Domain Solutions (CDS).
+ Evaluation of cost goals to achieve an Initial Authorization and a final Authority to Operate (ATO).
+ Experience in cybersecurity support for Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), and Final Design Review (FDR).
