Job Description
The DG Manager will manage and lead the administration of DP World Dangerous Goods program. Develop and administer best-in-class processes and systems to ensure dangerous goods are transported safely and in compliance with applicable 49 CFR, IATA, and IMDG regulations. This role will also act as a DG specialist responsible for resolving compliance gaps and driving new compliance initiatives. Facilitates and partners with teams to ensure organizational compliance, maintain solid relationships, and remediate concerns internally and externally. The qualified individual will be ultimately responsible for compliance against domestic, regional, and global regulatory policies governing dangerous goods transport.
This role would be working for Tuesday through Saturday 11am-7pm.

About the Role
How you will contribute
- Advise the company on the safe storage and transport of dangerous goods by any mode of transport possible.
- Ensure that, where required, the correct paperwork (Dangerous Goods) is created and issued.
- Monitor the organizations compliance with dangerous goods regulations.
- Prepare annual reports about the activities of the organization related to the storage and transport of
dangerous goods. - Provide and monitor the provision of appropriate training to any staff involved in the handling and transport of dangerous goods.
- Review and monitor the procedures for the provision of adequate training of personnel and the retention and maintenance of appropriate training records.
- Other duties as assigned
- Trained in IATA / ADR
- Five years of progressive work experience performing professional level quality, environment, health and safety management duties; preferably in manufacturing or logistics industry
- Additional education, training and/or work experience in area of specialization inherent to the position may be required.
- Knowledge of principles and procedures used in logistics operations and practices
- Extensive knowledge and/or training in Core Tools (QPulse, DGOffice)

**What You Will Do**
+ Classify hazardous materials in accordance with DoD 4500.9-R, 49 CFR, IATA, IMDG, and UN guidelines.
+ Prepare and verify shipping documents including DD Form 2890, Shipper's Declaration for Dangerous Goods, and electronic manifests.
+ Ensure packaging complies with MIL-STD-129, MIL-STD-2073, and UN specifications.
+ Perform inspections of outbound/inbound shipments to confirm proper labeling, marking, and segregation.
+ Coordinate transportation via military and commercial carriers, ensuring secure and compliant routing.
+ Monitor and maintain records within DoD logistics systems (e.g., GATES, GTN, WPS, TMS).
+ Conduct or assist in hazardous materials incident response planning and drills.
+ Maintain compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations.
+ Collaborate with security personnel to implement risk-based transportation security plans.
+ Provide guidance to internal teams and external carriers regarding hazmat handling procedures
**Qualifications You Must Have**
+ Typically requires a bachelor's degree and a minimum of five (5) years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
+ Experience with logistics, operations, or supply chain.
+ Familiarization with explosives handling, storage, and transportation

+ Familiar with Technical Bulletin (TB)-700 for transportation and hazard classification within the DoD

**Job Description:**
The Dangerous Goods Specialist serves as the key Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all matters pertaining to Dangerous Goods (DG) for Ultium Cells. This comprehensive role encompasses a wide spectrum of responsibilities including compliance, training, record-keeping, and permitting for Dangerous Goods. The specialist will maintain a solid working relationship with various teams, across multiple US locations and organizations. This role will also be responsible for supporting future initiatives and maintaining regulatory compliance. The candidate should be adept at conducting risk assessments, developing and executing a comprehensive training program, and working cross-functionally to ensure compliance with DG laws, regulations, and policies. The Dangerous Goods Specialist will also be responsible for managing and maintaining DOT Special Permits as well as regulatory compliance functions. The specialist will also need to maintain familiarity with trade compliance regarding cross-border trade with Canada and Mexico.
**Primary Responsibilities:**
+ Serve as the Dangerous Goods Site Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Ultium Cells
+ Attend and maintain country-specific DG certifications for all Ultium Cells personnel on-site and validate proper training for on-site suppliers
+ Develop and update a comprehensive list of parts and materials identified as DG in transportation; communicate this list to all relevant personnel
+ Maintain site shipping papers in compliance with local regulations and Ultium Cells retention policy
+ Train others at the site on regulations, policies, and procedures related to Dangerous Goods
+ Develop local work instructions for the handling and shipment of DG materials from the facility
+ Lead the risk assessment process for Ultium Cells DG global program, working with regional/local sites to ensure required reviews are performed
+ Develop and maintain a comprehensive training program, documentation, and records relating to Dangerous Goods
+ Collaborate with Ultium Cells Customs, Legal Staff, and the Office of Export Compliance for the continuous improvement of the CTPAT/FAST/ISPM-15 Programs
+ Manage and maintain DOT Special Permits required for the shipment of cells produced by Ultium Cells
**Education:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Chemistry or related
**Skills:**
+ CDGP Certification required
+ 49CFR Train the Trainer certification preferred
+ Minimum 3 years of experience with Dangerous Goods Transportation compliance; relevant experience preferred
+ Strong knowledge of DG laws, regulations, and policies, with the ability to apply this knowledge to anticipate and effectively communicate with site and regulatory stakeholders
+ Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills; able to communicate with high-level government officials and Senior Leaders of Ultium Cells and our joint venture partners
+ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
+ Ability to train others and develop comprehensive training programs
+ Experience with cross-border trade compliance with Canada and Mexico is preferred
