The KIPP Texas Finance Team is a high performing department within our School Support Partners
(SSP). Our department consists of three teams - Accounting, Business Intelligence, and Financial
Planning & Analysis. This role sits on the Business Intelligence Team. Business Intelligence is a highly agile team within KIPP Texas Public Schools with the purpose to rapidly increase the availability of usable, relevant data to all campus and department stakeholders. Our team's focus is to equip leaders with the needed data to drive mission-aligned action and best support our students.
THE OPPORTUNITY
KIPP Texas is currently seeking a smart, motivated and experienced data analyst to bring strong problem-solving and analytical skills to a leading charter management organization. KIPP Texas is committed to using data to drive academic, financial, instructional, operational and talent improvement and decision-making. The Data Analyst is critical to KIPP Texas achieving this work. This individual must be as much a people person as a numbers person-collaboration and building strong cross-functional partnerships are necessary to be successful in this role. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Data Strategy & Analytics and follows a hybrid schedule (coming to our SSP office in Houston 3 days a week; and work from home 2 days a week). KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Analysis & Visualization
• Design, build, and iterate tools and processes that help our organization to make equitable decisions (Note: our current BI tool is Tableau and we will be transitioning to Power BI by August 2026)
• With input from key stakeholders supports in transitioning our reporting from Tableau to Power BI
• Work directly with school administration and organizational leadership across all of our regions (Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, and San Antonio) to ensure tools and processes meet the needs of our end-users

Data Strategy
• Lead assessment reporting to major stakeholders including our Academics Department, Team Texas Chiefs (T2), and School Management Team (Regional Superintendents, Heads of Schools, etc.)
• Partner with departments and school staff to plan and prioritize short-term and long-term analytics needs
• Collaborate with the Data Systems Team for data warehouse needs to yield meaningful analyses

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

**What role you will play in our team**
The Operations Engineering Data Analyst will leverage data engineering and BI development techniques to pipeline, automate, analyze, and visualize data. This role reports to the Engineering Analytics and Reporting team within Permian Operations Continuous Improvement and supports strategic decision-making in the optimization of safety, production, and cost by applying data-driven insights. **What role you will play in our team**
The Oil and Gas Reserves Data Analyst will leverage advanced data science techniques to analyze, model, and optimize hydrocarbon reserves. This role reports to the Unconventional Reserves Team and supports strategic decision-making in exploration, production, and asset management by applying data-driven insights. The focus will be on improving the understanding of key well performance drivers, reserves revisions and other data trends as related to the reserves process. This job is located in Houston, TX
**What you will do**
+ Analyze spatial data to identify performance trends
+ Build and manage data pipelines integrating structured (e.g., well logs, etc.) and unstructured data sources.
+ Support department in developing and maintaining dashboards, mapping applications and tools to strengthen for monitoring reserves and improving the reserves processes
+ Perform statistical analysis, pattern recognition, and predictive modeling to detect hidden trends.
+ Maintain up-to-date and accurate reserves data analysis documentation for reference purposes.
+ Prepare technical data for interpretation, conduct analyses and routine computer processing of the data, and help create final displays of the results often for formal presentations to management
+ Assist in compiling data for annual reserves and financial reporting
+ Design, develop, and institute automated workflows utilizing various technologies (GIS, SQL, Spotfire, Alteryx, MS Power Platform and more) to minimize human error, standardize data, and apply data management best practices with a focus on data integrity and governance
+ Develop ETL processes and maintain application integrations across multiple systems and data sources
+ Keep Uncon Reserves Manager up to date on all data science/reserve related activities.
+ Collaborate with reserves team as required to complete special reserves related studies - (Reliable Technology, Special/Technical studies, Competitor analysis, etc.)
+ Perform additional projects or tasks as assigned by Supervisor
+ Stay updated on advancements in AI, machine learning, and digital oilfield technologies.
**About You**
**Skills and Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree required in Data/Computer Science, Mathematics or related field (master's preferred).
+ Upstream Oil and Gas industry experience preferred
+ A minimum of 5 - 7 years' experience in a technical role.
+ Experience: 5+ years in oil and gas or data science; expertise in reserves analysis is a plus.
+ Ability to work independently, problem solve, multi-task, be self-motivated, and properly prioritize tasks
+ Ability to understand business needs and maintain good relationships with coworkers/peers across multiple disciplines
+ Experience creating visualizations for analysis using a variety of business intelligence tools
+ Proficient in Spotfire, Power BI, Alteryx, MS Power Platform, and/or SQL desired.
+ Established track record of successfully working in a multi-disciplinary team.
+ Must be comfortable working with large amounts of data and at times ambiguous data
