Overview
The Business Intelligence Developer (BID) will analyze, provide specifications for, and write individual reports and data extracts for various applications across the organization. The incumbent is responsible for validating model/foundation reports and identifying advanced reporting needs for the organization, will create technical specifications and outputs for new requests, and will build using the appropriate methodology in the business intelligence stack.
Responsibilities

Develop complex SQL queries against various data models. Collaborate with Business Intelligence Analysts to apply these solutions within the Epic Cogito framework and Power BI tool to deliver metrics and metric drill through for end users.

Validate Foundation System reports and identify advanced analytics needs with report consumers.

Determine data needs through collaboration with application analysts and requestors to understand their data needs.

Create design specifications for new reports.

Identify and validate appropriate technological solutions for various reporting needs.

Create new reports using a third-party report writing tool (such as Power BI). Modify existing reports as necessary.

Review peer reports for validity.

Test report build in a specified testing environment and volume testing in live environments.

Review upgrade documentation related to Clarity and Caboodle features and other released reporting content and determine how to implement the changes.

BIDs are also responsible for building including but not limited to Universes, SSAS Cubes, extracts, SlicerDicer, and reports to query the Caboodle Data Warehouse
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess and maintain Epic certification in all applications in their area and other related areas within 3 months of training.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in computer sciences, math or information systems required. Four or more years of relevant experience above the minimum required may be substituted for the degree requirement at the discretion of the Assistant Vice President, Digital Transformation.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum five years of applicable experience required, to include at least one year of experience writing and troubleshooting SQL queries.

Position Summary: Works under the supervision of a Data Trust Analytic Team Leader or other data governance or analytic leadership appropriate for the scope of work. This supervision may be through a matrixed or direct reporting structure. This role is responsible for data analytics and additional support of performance measures, ongoing measurement, data collection, reporting, data visualization, and information dissemination. They are subject matter data experts that work with IT solutions to solve high priority organizational analytic problems in their work area. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge. Goals are communicated in solution or project goal terms.
