The Data Integration Coach provides support for school-level and district-level data initiatives through training, interpretation, and visualization to maximize data literacy, access, and strategic use across school teams and district departments. This position is a partner that translates complex data into actionable insights that are aligned with district priorities and instructional goals.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies training and development needs within the district.
  • Conducts training sessions on school data including use of platforms and use of local and state assessment data.
  • Supports schools in the use and interpretation of state and local assessment data.
  • Conceptualizes and writes new reporting in Cognos to support school and district data collection and strategic planning.
  • Participates in report writing training in IBM Cognos.
  • Stays up to date with current state accountability rules and updates district reporting as necessary.
  • Drafts research reports on set topics throughout the school year
  • Develops presentation materials around research report topics.
  • Facilitate training using techniques that maximize learner participation, comprehension and application of the material.
  • Supports the creation and visualization of district instructional focus tools and collaborates with schools to rework or design tools to improve usability and ensure systems and tools meet user needs.

  • Receives, prepares or completes various forms, reports, correspondence, lists, procedures, spreadsheets, or other documents.
  • Serves as the point of contact for schools by compiling, interpreting, and presenting student-level data to aid in understanding and planning.
  • Supports strategic projects by developing data collection and observation tools, KPIs, and dashboards/reports for monitoring key performance indicators.
  • Conducts meetings with school administration to regarding assessment data.
  • May operate a motor vehicle to conduct various work activities.
  • Prepares or completes various documents, reports, and correspondence as required.
  • Performs general/clerical tasks, which may include answering telephone calls, typing documents, making copies, sending/receiving faxes, filing documentation, processing incoming/outgoing mail, or running errands.
  • Operates a computer to enter, retrieve, review or modify data; verifies accuracy of entered data and makes corrections; performs basic maintenance of office/computer equipment.
  • Complies with applicable district, state, and federal codes, laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures.
  • Adheres to the Teacher Code of Ethics as defined by Tennessee Law and Code of Professional Conduct as defined by Board Policy 5.6011.
  • Acts in a professional, respectful, and welcoming manner at all times.
  • Creates a customer-focused climate and provides quality services and support to schools, community, businesses, Superintendent of Schools, Board of Education, and other stakeholders.
  • Works collaboratively with all stakeholders.
  • Follows established procedures to ensure assigned areas are safe.
  • Maintains confidentiality.
  • Attends work and arrives to work on time.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education, Experience, and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field;
  • Three (3) years working with educational data and visualization;
  • Or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
  • Teaching licensed preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to use a variety of software applications to generate reports.
  • Ability to identify and communicate trends in data.
  • Ability to analyze data and make corrections to ensure the integrity of the data.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work with a team and complete routine task independently.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
