This is a people management role with the Data Science Manager tasked with building, leading and daily management of the Data Science team. This will encompass all aspects to ensure the success of the team in building new algorithms and models for internal use or deployed as product features for clinicians or patients. The manager will give direction, guidance and structure to the team while being at the center of hypothesis testing and experimentation. You will be empowered to deliver innovative, insightful & impactful features and projects. Additional Roles/Responsibilities:
+ Hire, build and grow the data science team. Multiple expansion requisitions approved for FY'25
+ Manage, mentor and guide team members to excel at their roles. Build upon your own deep technical strengths to impart insight and guidance to the team. Contribute and constructively challenge technical proposals & requests.
+ Handle team career development and annual reviews.
+ Own the Data Science roadmap & project backlog. Use your project management skills to steer, manage and prioritize the Data Science Teams workload & projects.
+ Aid distillation of complex technical approaches and progress into digestible presentations and updates to management & senior leadership.
+ Liaise with immediate teams (Data Engineering, Data Analytics) and external groups to understand needs and requests while progressing your team's needs.
+ Demonstrate good data governance practices and approaches equivalent to the risks and needs of the team.
+ Ensure the highest levels of confidentiality and sensitivity for dealing with Patient Health Information (PHI)
**What you'll need (Required):**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Biostatistics or Scientific field including either industry or industry/education **-OR-** Master's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Biostatistics or Scientific field including either industry or industry/education **-OR-** Ph.D. or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Biostatistics or Scientific field including either industry or industry/education
+ Experience in technical leadership or management role
+ Previous hands-on knowledge of mathematical principals, Statistics, Data Analytics and Data Science principles and their use with building models and insights
**What else we look for (Preferred):**
+ Experience as a Data Scientist, Statistician or other technical data related role strongly preferred
+ Expert understanding of related aspects of machine learning, data science and artificial intelligence processes and/or systems
+ Hands-on experience with working and analyzing clinical or patient data (an advantage)
+ Demonstrated ability to manage one or more teams and provide coaching and feedback, including responsibility for all employee actions including hire/fire authority and partnering with HR on all aspects of employee relations (Experience leading Data Science, Data Analytics or Software Management teams is strongly preferred).
+ Ability to develop and integrate metrics into the projects and operations that clearly demonstrate the value of machine learning, data science and artificial intelligence to the business

**Responsibilities:**
+ **Product Management** : Develop science solutions within our product offerings in healthcare revenue cycle. Utilize research, stakeholder insights, and business expertise to perform prompt engineering, review model architecture, and guide data scientists in feature engineering.
+ **Project Management** : Prepare high quality plans and roadmaps that synthesize data science vision and progress. Groom, prioritize and juggle multiple data science projects.
+ **Innovative Analytics and Product Insights** : Create informative visualizations that intuitively display large amounts of data and/or complex relationships for internal stakeholders. Independently research business challenges and model results using SQL, Python or other tools. Research model results and features to hone performance.
+ **Stakeholder Engagement** : Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and engineering. Distill complex data concepts into simple language and business concepts.

**Required Qualifications** :
+ 4+ years of healthcare or business experience.
+ 2+ years of experience working with data, data analytics, or data science.
+ Demonstrated success working with and leading cross-functional teams.
+ Experience taking complex business problems and coming up with clear strategies, solutions, and roadmaps.
+ Experience creating analytics tools and visualizing data and model results utilizing a modern BI tool (Power BI, Spotfire, Tableau, etc.).
+ Experience juggling shifting priorities in a fast-paced work environment and staying on top of tight deadlines.
