Job Description

**_What Pharmacy Services & Delivery contributes to Cardinal Health_**
Responsible for the prompt and accurate delivery and distribution of radiopharmaceuticals or oncology pharmaceuticals to medical care providers in accordance with customer demand and requirements of the assigned route. Prepares doses for shipment, prepares cases, wipes doses, and loads and unloads containers in keeping with the prescribed safety standards and Department of Transportation (DOT).

+ Weekend shifts every 6 weeks (Saturday or Sunday 2:00am-10:00am) and on-call rotation every 6 weeks (Weekend on-call Friday, Saturday, Sunday).

**Responsibilities**
+ Prepares and makes deliveries to customer accounts on assigned route using a company vehicle (non-cdl)
+ Packages radiopharmaceutical medication for shipment, performs testing, and loads/unloads containers
+ Uses a handheld tablet to scan customer orders for accuracy, obtain route stop information and navigation
+ Processes packages returned from customer locations
+ Maintains vehicles in proper working condition and may perform minor roadside repairs
+ Performs general facility cleaning and other duties as required
**Qualifications**
+ High School diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred
+ Must hold a valid driver's license and have a good driving record
+ Minimum of 18 years of age due to driving of company owned vehicle
+ Prior delivery driving experience a plus
+ Ability to manage weight up to 75 pounds
+ Comfortable driving in all weather conditions during day or night hours
+ Ability to sit, stand, be mobile and operate a vehicle for extended periods of time
+ Strong customer service and communication skills
+ Ability to work weekends/on-call/holidays or be in a rotation

  • Collects payment from customers on COD orders and records customer information according to Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Records all pertinent delivery information as needed for accurate tracking.
  • Collects and organizes required paperwork for delivery and transfer activity.

Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a reliable and customer-focused Local Delivery Driver to join their growing team in Dallas, Texas, US . This vital role involves transporting goods and packages safely and efficiently to various destinations within the designated local delivery area. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining delivery schedules, ensuring the integrity of transported items, and providing excellent customer service during deliveries. This position offers a stable full-time opportunity with consistent routes and a supportive operational team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate a delivery vehicle (e.g., cargo van, light truck) to transport goods and packages over assigned local routes.
  • Load and unload packages and ensure proper securing of items to prevent damage during transit.
  • Verify contents of shipments against invoices or manifests, ensuring accuracy of deliveries.
  • Plan and execute efficient delivery routes, utilizing GPS and routing software to optimize time and fuel consumption.
  • Interact professionally and courteously with customers at delivery points, obtaining signatures and addressing any immediate concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pick-ups, mileage, and fuel consumption.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance needs or issues promptly.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws, company driving policies, and safety regulations.
  • Handle cash or process electronic payments if required.
  • Represent the company positively, ensuring customer satisfaction with every delivery.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • 2+ years of verifiable professional driving or delivery experience.
  • Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally heavier with assistance.
  • Familiarity with the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area roads and traffic patterns.
  • Strong navigation skills and ability to use GPS devices and mapping applications.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and highly organized.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with handheld scanning devices or delivery management apps.
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced delivery environment.
  • Familiarity with various types of delivery vehicles.
