- Develop and submit applications for grant opportunities.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding donor and financial information.
- Participate in the conception, planning, and execution of events focused on cultivating, soliciting or stewarding support for identified funding priorities.
- Assist with the solicitation of community sponsorship and underwriting opportunities.
- Along with the System Director of Philanthropy, develop an overarching event strategy and calendar to achieve goals of identifying, cultivating, and stewarding prospective major donors.
- Oversee event logistics, staffing, and operations for donor appreciation, stewardship and fundraising events, including the annual Walk-athon.
- Supervise fundraising volunteers and event committees.
- Take, prepare, and distribute committee meeting minutes as needed.
Required:
- Associate's Degree in business, communications, nonprofit management, finance, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in an office setting, with a strong focus on donor relations, customer service, or administrative support
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Experience working in development or philanthropy within a healthcare or nonprofit setting
- Familiarity with constituent relationship management platforms or other donor database systems
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with donors, board members, and volunteers

**Scope of Position:**
Successful candidate will be responsible for applying first principles knowledge to develop glass compositions for optical communications applications, and, develop and optimize processes making such products to deliver industry-leading optical properties and distinct advantage. The candidate will be a subject matter expert in the area of fiber and glass processing, where he/she will be directly responsible for the completion of a subset of project objectives. The accountability extends to support other areas of the project to ensure project success. He/she will work in a cross-functional team and is expected to be a strong team player. The candidate will be responsible for communicating the conclusions and recommendations based on the analysis to the team. Candidate is expected to demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving along with good project management skills.
**Day to Day Responsibilities:**
+ Identify new product opportunities for optical fiber and provide technical expertise to process development projects to increase Corning's capabilities.
+ Provide leadership in problem solving through comprehensive fundamental understanding of glass chemistry and optical / mechanical property interactions, advanced technical knowledge, and, empirical and modeling data analysis to develop novel designs and to improve product performance.
+ Through close collaboration with the broader Technology, Commercial and Engineering communities, ensure that process requirements are understood and integrated to meet product requirements and division objectives.
+ Lead or support industrialization/feasibility trials at the manufacturing plants for scale-up of new / improved products and processes meeting the desired performance requirements.
+ Prepare process and technology transfer documentation.
+ Actively file IP and write Internal and External Technical Reports.
**Required** **Education and Experience:**
+ PhD in Glass Science and Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering or other related field plus 0-3 years of relevant experience. Master's Degree in the same fields plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant industrial experience
+ Designing and hands-on execution of experiments. Analyzing data and drawing actionable conclusions from them
+ Solid understanding of glass chemistry-property relationships
+ Competency in industrial thermal and chemical processes. Experience in managing lab and pilot scale processes
+ Intimate familiarity with relevant characterization techniques
+ Systematic problem solving
**Desired Skills:**
+ Experience formulating glass compositions to achieve a set of target optical attributes
+ Deep Knowledge of glass raw materials and formulation
+ Expertise in the state-of-the-art optical fiber technologies (commercial fibers as well as new advanced technologies such as multi-core fiber, hollow-core fiber etc)
+ Familiar with key optical fiber attributes and relevant design and process parameters that influence them

The range for this position is $76,018.00 - $104,526.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. **Scope of Position:**
Successful candidate will be responsible for applying first principles knowledge to develop glass compositions for optical communications applications, and, develop and optimize processes making such products to deliver industry-leading optical properties and distinct advantage. The candidate will be a subject matter expert in the area of fiber and glass processing, where he/she will be directly responsible for the completion of a subset of project objectives. **Day to Day Responsibilities:**
+ Identify new product opportunities for optical fiber and provide technical expertise to process development projects to increase Corning's capabilities.

**Required** **Education and Experience:**
+ PhD in Glass Science and Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering or other related field plus 0-3 years of relevant experience. Master's Degree in the same fields plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant industrial experience
+ Designing and hands-on execution of experiments. Analyzing data and drawing actionable conclusions from them
+ Solid understanding of glass chemistry-property relationships
+ Competency in industrial thermal and chemical processes. Experience in managing lab and pilot scale processes
