The primary responsibility will be to oversee corporate fundraising, volunteer recruitment and management, and digital experience/event management for our Heart of Akron/Canton and Go Red for Women campaigns. The campaigns include our signature Heart Ball and Go Red for Women Luncheon events respectively. This is a full time position that offers a hybrid schedule. We have a fast-paced sales type of environment with the main responsibility of driving revenue in support of our mission. **Position Summary:**
You will join the Digital Commerce Platforms group, focusing on enterprise initiatives and technical projects for our ecommerce websites. This dynamic environment offers an outstanding opportunity to craft the future of our digital offerings.
**What you will do:**
+ Define and develop verifiable requirements and software designs.
+ Build technical documentation for software architecture, design, and verification plans.
+ Develop software requirements, architectures, and designs for fault-tolerant systems.
+ Participate in all aspects of software development, systems integration, test execution, issue resolution, and reviews.
+ Collaborate and communicate effectively with software, hardware, and test engineers across the team.
**How you will get here:**
Education:
+ BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Mathematics, or equivalent work experience.
+ Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
**Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:**
+ Advanced programming skills in Python, Django, Flask
+ Experience deploying software on elastic platforms such as Kubernetes, AWS EC2. AWS Lambda, AWS Greengrass
+ Experience in AWS IoT Core platform
+ Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Proven ability to think critically, learn new technologies, and deliver results.
+ Strong teamwork and time management skills; passion for mentoring and developing junior team members.
+ Ability to express ideas clearly within the team and across departments.
+ Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Git/GitHub, Confluence.

**Position Summary:**
Work with the Digital Commerce Platforms team on projects for Fisher Scientific and Thermo Fisher Scientific eCommerce websites.
**What you will do:**
+ Design, develop, test, and deploy applications
+ Participate in architecture and code reviews
+ Prioritize features and bug fixes
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams
+ Provide leadership and mentorship to junior engineers
+ Stay updated with industry trends and focus on continuous learning
**How you will get here:**
Education
+ BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Mathematics, or equivalent work experience
+ Minimum of 5 to 7 years of related experience
**Knowledge, Skills, Abilities**
+ Proven ability with a minimum of 7+ years in Java development, expertise in Java Spring Boot and microservice architecture
+ Proficiency in REST APIs, JUnit, and Mockito
+ Experience with databases, persistence frameworks, and SQL
+ Strong in object-oriented principles, design patterns, data structures, and unit testing
+ Experience using Agile Scrum development processes
+ Familiarity with GitHub, Jira, and CI/CD tools
+ Experience with Angular or any JavaScript framework
+ Knowledge of Amazon Web Services or other leading cloud platforms
+ Knowledge of Node.js, TypeScript, and Jasper Reports is a plus
+ Experience working with geographically distributed teams
