**Job Description:**
The Distribution Supervisor operates a warehouse with inbound and outbound freight shipments that are processed within a short timeframe. Supports business products by collaborating with vendors, customers, and other internal support groups for the movement of international and domestic air and ocean shipments. Monitors and manages facility performance to ensure materials are processed in a timely manner and meet customers' requirements. Responsible for daily facility activities related to loading and unloading containers, pulling orders, freight sorting, customer support, facility inspections, handling employee concerns, etc.
Responsible for overseeing, evaluating, and correcting the performance and outcomes of a team or multiple teams. Coordinates work across the organization to optimize efficiency. Emphasis on aligning processes and fostering cohesion among team members.

**Job Description:**
The Technology and Innovation (T&I) Team is a part of the Industrial Engineering department within the UPS Healthcare Logistics and Distribution (HLD) Business Unit. The team serves a lead role within the engineering group to support new technology onboarding, validation and run cost. We are seeking a qualified, motivated individual to join our team of engineers and lead new technology development for operating in our Healthcare/GMP facilities.
The Automation Engineer will be responsible for identifying new automation and new uses for existing automation for HLD. After identifying new technologies, the Automation Engineer will follow established methodology for the implementation of the technology wherein the engineer leads or assists in the development of user requirements, process flows, new layouts (if applicable), new processes, new systemic functionality, and IQ/OQ/PQ validation. They will help drive IT setup, repeatable deployment plans, QA validation, maintenance options and vendors future road map along with implementation support. The technology could be used in a variety of conditions from ambient, cooler, freezer, dangerous goods storage or even regulated storage.
The individual will also be responsible for ongoing industry knowledge, best practices and trends associated with their portfolio. Will need to be detail oriented in supporting our QA validation process along with good communication skills as they interact with various business units and vendors.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement automated systems for use in diverse dedicated or mixed client environments
- Lead collaborative discussions between departments and key stakeholders to determine automation feasibility short and long term
- Create detailed road maps to guide automation projects from conception to final implementation
- Assist with training and developing engineering staff to include on the job training, reviewing work studies, and assisting with feedback for system improvement
- Perform more comprehensive engineering analytics and system reviews, such as collecting, reviewing, and analyzing data, forecasts, and related information.
- Develop layouts, capacity, equipment, and validation plans.
- Prepare presentations for senior management regarding recommendations of studies and projects; may assist with presenting information.
- Lead and/or develop standard operating procedures, work instructions and related materials.
- Identify and deliver on project milestones, communicate with stakeholders, remove complex obstacles, and ensure a variety of resources are available.
- Develop specialized or more comprehensive metrics and goals for programs, oversee performance, and work with staff when potential problems are identified to bring to resolution.

Qualifications:

Ensures warehouse functions are completed safely, accurately, and on-time within company standards.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Receiving**
+ Unloads pallets and cases from inbound trailers and/or containers manually using the pallet jack.
+ Accurately counts, verifies, and receives product using radio frequency (RF) equipment and/or Voice Pick Technology; documents variances.
**LUM Picking**
+ Selects products and quantities as directed by Voice Pick Technology and/or RF scanner and places items into totes on conveyor belt.
+ Removes empty cartons from pick module as needed.
**Sortation**
+ Prepares sortation area by setting up pallets and carts for product.
+ Moves cartons and totes from conveyor belts and/or rollers and places on pallets and/or carts according to assigned batch.
**Loading**
+ Uses RF scanner to ensure that totes, pallets, and carts are loaded correctly onto trucks for customer delivery.
+ Uses pallet jack to load pallets.
**General requirements for all functions**
+ Follows general sequencing and process procedures.
+ Maintains a safe and clean work environment.
+ Follows safety policies and procedures and corrects or communicates hazards to management.
+ Places incoming merchandise into inventory.
+ Conducts physical inventories as required.
+ Counts and performs basic math calculations.
+ Maintains productivity and quality standards.
+ Performs additional duties as directed.
**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE**
+ General knowledge of a variety of basic topics (math, reading, basic accounting, typing, etc.)
+ Prior experience working in a warehouse/distribution center a plus
+ Warehouse/Operations certification a plus
**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES**
+ Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment and meet performance standards/individual performance goals
+ Good attention to detail
+ Dependable and able to report to work as scheduled/have regular punctual attendance
+ Willingness to learn how to use new material handling equipment
+ Willingness to learn WMS Technology
+ Ability to adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures for safety rules and requirements received in training
**ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS**
+ Must successfully pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
+ Ability to frequently work unscheduled overtime hours with minimal notice
+ Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
+ For some functions, must be able to operate forklift and pick items as high as 35 feet in the air
+ Must be able to stand and walk on concrete warehouse floors for long periods of time
+ Must be able to squat and kneel often, and lift up to 50 lbs. individually or greater than 50 lbs. in a team lift
+ Must be able to safely use a step ladder or stool to reach area shelves
+ Must be able to safely wear steel-toed protective footwear in accordance with the OSHA General Industry standard
+ Must be able to safely use a provided box cutter
+ Must be able to move up and down multi-level stairways safely
+ Must be able to clearly communicate (speak and understand) in English in order to operate voice-pick technology

The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is $3,800.00 to 156,400.00.

Position Details

Reporting to the Regional Senior Manager, Human Resources, the Manager, Human Resources focuses on collaborating and consulting with partners to build and execute people strategies that promote a positive culture. This position requires presence onsite daily Monday through Friday at our Louisville, Kentucky Distribution Center.

You Will
  • Translate business needs into human resource plans and programs.
  • Identify and assess human resource needs in designated departments. Collaborate with human resource "centers of excellence" (i.e. Total Rewards, Talent Development, Talent Acquisition, Organization Effectiveness) to meet business needs.
  • Partner with leaders to develop organization structure and job design based on work processes.
  • Provide expertise in areas of human capital such as employee development, performance, talent acquisition, inclusion and diversity and total rewards.
  • Provide guidance to leaders on performance management tools within specific departments in partnership with HR Advisors.
  • Ensure appropriate learning and growth opportunities are identified and acted on for individuals and teams.

+ Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
+ Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
+ Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
+ Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
+ Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
**Responsibilities:**
+ Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and respond to emergency situations as appropriate.
+ Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
+ Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the logistics and distribution location, including the business premises and perimeter, to help to deter unauthorized activity.
+ Monitor for unusual activity and report any security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel.
+ Assist with access control by verifying credentials of individuals entering and exiting the location.
+ Document observations and incidents according to Allied Universal protocols.
+ Support emergency response activities as needed, following established procedures for the logistics and distribution environment.
