Primary responsibilities of the Project Manager will include:

**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction, or related field from an accredited university.
+ Additional applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
+ Minimum of 7 years of progressive Distribution engineering experience, including 3 or more years of experience managing engineering projects. Completion of a master's degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of experience.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. This position requires an individual capable of applying intensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to broad areas of assignments.
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.
+ Must have experience with the production of distribution design and construction documents.
+ Requires knowledge and experience working with the NESC code, as well as other industry codes and standards.
+ Must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered.
+ Demonstrate prior success in project management.

A Staff Physical Designer - Substation will perform various phases of planning, site evaluations, analytical designs, design documents for proposals, specifications, and electrical plans as part of a project team. + Perform drawing, planning, development and production work including problem analysis, design layout and calculations on non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity.
+ Perform a variety of assignments using prescribed methods and standard techniques including drawing sequence and presentation, sizing various system components and refining rough sketches.
+ Perform the evaluation of designs or sketches and redlines or mark-ups on ongoing projects for quality assurance.
+ Approve design codes and specifications related to design requirements.

**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in drafting technology or related field and seven years related experience or associate's degree and eight years related experience or nine years progressive detailing and design experience.
+ Advanced understanding of design software such as: AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Excel to develop the design deliverables. Ability to learn and effectively utilize new design software programs.
+ Advanced ability to utilize both 2D and 3D applications to prepare engineering drawings.
+ Advanced knowledge in design, calculations and design systems.
+ Advanced knowledge in the theory and practices of assigned discipline; competent in the fundamental concepts of other disciplines as they relate to the assigned discipline; and capable of operating related discipline design software necessary to execute production tasks.

  • 5+ years' experience in purchasing and supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in organization transformation, team leadership, and team development.
  • Strong PC and software skills (Microsoft office, Outlook, Internet Explorer, etc.)
  • Knowledge of SAP or ERP/MRP system.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.

This position is expected to align policies and share best practices with other SHW technical locations, specifically the Minneapolis Technical Center. This position will manage an Inventory Manager, Buyers, Shipping/Receiving/WH Technicians, and Material Handlers. (1) Inventory Management: Oversee the Chemical Inventory Management System. Work with vendor on system upgrades and integrations. Work with IT and others for hardware problem solving Manages buyer group who procures raw materials and consumable lab supplies and optimizes order quantities and frequencies. Work with both new and existing raw material suppliers, Sherwin manufacturing plants and distribution centers, among others Work with internal customers to establish and maintain inventory through forecasting and warehousing of common consumable lab supplies and raw materials, and ensuring the site maintains sufficient material volumes Leads Continuous Improvement Projects for efficient raw material flow Manage Central Raw Materials Room (2) Manager Shipping, Receiving, and Warehousing: Manage group responsible for all shipments into and out of the facility. Ensure all shipments are properly packaged, labeled, and abide by all government regulations Manage group responsible for storing materials in a safe and efficient manner, maintaining a log of inventory, and retrieving items for customers Oversee the safe operation of forklifts and other material handling equipment. Ensure all operators of such equipment within department are properly trained and certified. (3) Material Handling: Manage material handlers assigned to support lab groups by delivering materials throughout facility. Train and provide continuous improvements for this group Manage group responsible for pouring off materials into smaller containers “Job duties include contact with other employees, operating heavy machinery, and access to proprietary information, raw materials, finished merchandise, and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised.
