• Directly communicate with clients – advising, guiding, and advocating.

• Prepare the clients for all hearings and CCRC.
• Skilled in drafting/reviewing persuasive legal documents: motions, Ps&As, RFOs, DVROs, marital settlement agreements, judgments, orders, and more.
• Manage complex issues like property division, including real estate and businesses in divorce proceedings; custody evaluations, and move-aways.
Trial experience and court appearance are necessary – the more you have, the better! We will be sending you A LOT.
Qualifications

• 5+ years of solid family law experience (CFLS preferred) .
• Compensation depends on your experience.
• Strong research, writing, negotiation, and courtroom skills. Comprehensive research tools are available.

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Paralegal to join our team. In this role, you will work under the supervision of our attorney to assist in management of cases and ensuring compliance with deadlines as well as preparation of documents , providing support and ensuring they are able to carry out their duties. You will communicate with clients via telephone and email, draft correspondence, judicial council forms, stipulations, declarations, proposed orders and Judgment forms. Additionally, you will have to be responsible for assisting with management of deadlines relating to discovery, as well as assisting with preparation of written discovery responses, document review and sorting and propounding discovery demands. The ideal candidate is hardworking, very detail-oriented and motivated to maintain the firm's desired reputation for competence and professionalism. .
Responsibilities
Answer client calls and follow up to facilitate client input with respect to declarations, financial disclosures, etc.
Provide general administrative support, including preparation of files for court, copying and sorting exhibits for trial, creating trial/hearing binders, etc.
Communicate with clients and witnesses
Use practice management software to calendar important dates, track client communication and follow up regarding written file memos
Prepare case-specific documents, including Judicial Council forms and routine pleadings (e.g. notices)
Ensure that case-related documents are well organized and available for review, including scanning and digitally saving in an organized fashion all physical documents relating to a file
Attend client meetings, court sessions and/or file review meetings and record important information
Qualifications
Previous experience as a Paralegal in the area of family law is preferred, but qualified candidates with different experience may be considered.
Must possess a valid Class C driver's license and have access to reliable vehicle
Ability to maintain composure under stress (e.g. pitching in as part of the team to meet deadlines, listening to emotional clients, etc.)
Strong verbal and written communication skills and WILLINGNESS to communicate with clients in a manner that balances compliance with Business and Professions Code, providing excellent customer service and reputational awareness
Highly organized with litigation management experience
Comfortable using Windows based computers and word processing software
Must be able to share office environment with a dog
