About the Resident Psychiatrist Position

The Psychiatry Resident provides clinical psychiatric care under the supervision of an experienced licensed Staff Psychiatrist. Residents must be currently enrolled in an ACGME-accredited psychiatry residency program at a level PGY-3 or higher. WWH must have an official "Affiliation Agreement" with the residency program in place during the period of the rotations. Residents should demonstrate some level of commitment in working with LGBTQ+ individuals, as well as HIV/AIDS-infected and affected individuals. Residents will provide psychiatric evaluations and treatment with psychopharmacology and/or trauma-informed psychotherapy.

The psychiatric resident rotation consists of:
  • Learning about the coordination of patient care under the supervision of a licensed psychiatrist, including diagnostic psychiatric evaluation, documentation of evaluation and client's progress, prescription of psychotropic medication in the management of patient psychiatric conditions as needed, and psychoeducation as it pertains to the standard of psychiatric care.
  • Organizing information concerning patient's family, medical and psychiatric history, and review of symptoms obtained from patients, relatives, and other sources in electronic medical records. Assists in crisis intervention as needed.
  • Ordering laboratory and special diagnostic tests and evaluating information obtained along with all available clinical data (including laboratory and other diagnostic reports) pertaining to the client's physiological status prior to initiating psychopharmacological interventions.
  • Reviewing and following up on treatment(s), including those ordered by other physicians, as appropriate in the coordination of patient care. Consult and advise team members as needed.
  • Facilitating psychotherapy groups with a licensed co-facilitator, if desired.
  • Utilizing supervision to develop skills and insight as an emerging psychiatrist by attending meetings with the supervising psychiatrist multiple times per week.
  • Gaining experience working on specific multidisciplinary teams, which may focus on substance use disorder (SUD) treatment, integrated behavioral care, youth psychotherapy, and gender-affirming care.
  • Offering research and resource projects to improve client care and clinical knowledge.
  • Maintaining agreements of their residency program, including recording hours and other clinical assignments.
  • Fulfilling other expectations as outlined in the attached "Residents Responsibilities" document.
Eligibility:
  • M.D. or D.O. Degree
  • Must be currently enrolled at a PGY-3 level or higher in an ACGME-accredited psychiatry residency program.
  • Should have initial foundational field experience prior to applying.

**Qualifications:**
+ 10+ years of operations management experience in the delivery and support of education technology and professional services (e.g., consulting, help desk, training/professional learning, business analytics, software development)
+ Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
+ A strong track record in applying industry best practices and driving continuous improvement initiatives to optimize service delivery, increase operational efficiency, and ensure consistent, high-impact outcomes in a client-focused environment.
+ Excellent leadership, management, and written and verbal communication skills with experience implementing systems for continuous learning.
+ Ability to engage and develop relationships with multiple agencies and organizations.
+ Ability to work across all levels of management and staff.
+ Experience in developing and coaching senior-level staff, focused on cultivating high-performing teams
+ Experience developing, implementing and improving standard operating procedures, onboarding/training plans
+ PMP certification is a plus
+ Demonstrated knowledge of PCG education services and client needs is a plus
