- Acting as a software engineer on projects, integrating all aspects of design work from other engineers, mechanical, electrical and software, to complete the design and development of products.
- Designing, developing, and maintaining both new and legacy code for medical devices.
- Assisting in the creation of detailed project plans; be accountable for and adhere to agreed upon development schedules.
- Deriving detailed technical specifications from general product requirements and specifications.
- Working closely with cross-functional resources to ensure compliance and effectiveness during the product development process.
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution and five (5) years combined industry experience in embedded software development and/or product design in a private, public, government or military environment
- High School Diploma/GED (completed and verified prior to start) and 9 years combined industry experience in embedded software development and/or product design in a private, public, government or military environment
In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required:
- Experience with either C or C++ in an embedded systems environment.
- Experience in regulated industry
- Experience in a regulated design environment with medical device development highly preferred, FDA or ISO registered work experience. Experience in GMP certified Manufacturing Processes and UL, IEC Standards.
- Experience with development and debugging of ARM based processors including Cortex M0, M4, and A series
- Experience with USB, UART, I2C, and SPI interfaces

- Take ownership in all phases of the software development process, including requirements definition, design, implementation, and developer verification.
- Design and implement embedded device software in C.
- Develop and maintain test tools and automated test cases (C#).

Job Description
- Creating software services for Infotainment system which includes code to support features for navigation, media, entertainment, phone, voice, and vehicle interfaces.
- Creating HMI (screens, widgets, etc.) and Application software for Sync infotainment system to allow user to interact with features such as navigation, media, entertainment, phone, voice, and vehicle settings.
- Develop C/C++ middleware for Ford's SYNC infotainment system.
- Implement graphical user-interfaces using QML / Qt Quick
- Design, document, integrate, and test APIs / SDKs that provide services for: media, phone, navigation, speech-recognition, mobile device connectivity, and CAN network communication.
- Lead integration, build, and release of firmware images for Ford SYNC platform
- Lead root cause analysis of software defects. Lead optimization of boot-up performance and system responsiveness
- Participate in system design, documentation, and testing to deliver a best-in-class infotainment system.
- 7+ years C/C++ software development experience in the automotive/infotainment industry
- 5+ years of experience in developing software on QNX OS based platforms
- Minimum 5-7 years of Qt/QML experience
- Experience with communication protocols: CAN, TCP/IP, USB, Bluetooth, Ethernet, and/or Wi-Fi
- Experience in Integrating APIs / SDKs that provide services for: media, phone, navigation, and speech-recognition.
- Proficiency with revision control including git, subversion, or equivalent
- Working knowledge and experience developing an infotainment feature technology, such as navigation, voice recognition, media phone, or a similar technology
