**Position Purpose:**
+ Patient Financial Specialist I; Ensures the collection of accurate and complete registration/admission information and completion of required forms for all patients. Ensures collections of patient deductibles, co-pays, coinsurance and deposits. Gathers and evaluates confidential patient financial data for purposes of determining patient qualification for financial assistance and/or patient financial responsibility. Collects payments and facilitates resolution of billing questions. Acts as an information resource to other departments and physician offices. Understands relation between diagnosis and procedure using CPT and ICD-9 coding to ensure compliance with third party regulations. Understands Medicare, Medicaid and other third party information requirements and adheres to all third party regulations. Abides by all pertinent legislation regarding use/disclosure of medical and financial information, debt collection and credit reporting. Establishes payment arrangements for patients and evaluates past account history. Abides by the department Service vision.

**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Education: Prefer an Associate's Degree in HealthCare Administration, Business Administration or related field. High School Diploma or GED is required. Demonstrated experience may be used in lieu of degree.
+ Experience: Prefer minimum of three years experience in a physician's office, clinic, hospital business office, financial service setting, or related area dealing with the public in collection of data and funds

**To qualify for the role, you must have**
+ A bachelor's degree and approximately 10 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 7 years of related work experience.
+ Approximately 7 years of healthcare consulting experience in provider operations; acute care experience is preferred.
+ Prior experience as a senior manager (or above), in a consulting firm or in a senior management role within industry
+ Ability to read and interpret hospital financial statements and contract terms, utilize complex financial models, experience with operational process mapping and experience with healthcare cost reduction planning and implementation
+ Experience with healthcare organization M&A, physician alignment, or financial margin improvement initiatives
+ Experience in selling and delivering projects that cover the full life cycle of assessment, design and implementation support; demonstrated record of driving revenue within existing healthcare clients and in developing new prospects at the "C" level of large healthcare companies
+ Ability to manage a team of staff/senior/manager consulting professionals
+ Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills
+ A willingness to travel to meet client needs; travel is estimated at 80%.
**Ideally, you'll also have**
+ A degree with an emphasis in Finance, Accounting, and/or Business; CPA, MBA, MHA and/or MPH
+ Clinical background is preferred but not required.

The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $150,400 to $43,600. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is 180,500 to 390,500. This critical care opportunity is full-time. **12/HR shift** with weekend/holiday rotation. **In this role you will be credentialed to do procedures.** Excellent compensation, benefit eligible and annual CME stipend. **Responsibilities**
+ Manages the care and treatment of patients as indicated in the professional scope of practice and within current standards and protocols.
