**Note: This is a hybrid position requiring at least 3 days of in office work each week, and will be based out of our offices in Little Rock, AR. The selected candidate will be placed as an Engineer level I, II, or III based on education and experience, as well as demonstrated success at the engineering level.**
**JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:**
The engineer role will be the technical resource for Entergy Arkansas's Energy Efficiency Department. The Engineering position candidate should expect to use industry certifications, on-the-job experience and a formal technical/engineering education to successfully fill this position. Candidates willing to learn or expand their energy efficiency knowledge and possess the self-motivation to support their career development will thrive in this position.
**JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:**
The Engineer will be responsible for the analysis of energy efficiency measures, integration of energy efficiency standards, evaluation of energy efficiency savings as well as quality assurance and quality control processes, including conducting field inspections of completed projects and the supervision of contract field inspectors. The Engineer will ensure validity of the energy savings used to reach APSC mandated savings targets as well as support the associated regulatory filings. The Engineer will also calculate the Lost Contribution to Fixed Costs as prescribed by the Arkansas Public Service Commission. The Engineer will be the departmental lead for cost/benefit tests and the standardized system testing model (DSMore). The Engineer will work closely with Energy Efficiency Project Managers to audit work packages, develop departmental budgets, financial forecasts as well as report on the actual financial results. The successful candidate will have the ability to keep the department technically current while gaining essential administration skills by:

**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION**
A bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited institution is required. Preference will be given to a degree in Energy Efficiency Engineering, Energy Management or Electrical Engineering. Other Engineering disciplines and technical degrees will be considered with other utility or energy efficiency experience.
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: EXPERIENCE**
+ **Engineer I:** 0+ years of experience
+ **Engineer II:** 2+ years of experience (1year with a M.S.)
+ **Engineer III:** 4+ years of experience
+ **Highly Preferred:** 5 years of energy efficiency or energy related experience
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS**
+ The successful candidate will have good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple activities with fluctuating priorities and the capacity to work well under pressure.

Provide Commercial & Industrial program management oversight over scope, schedule and budget of energy efficiency projects in compliance with the BPU Order and PSEG procedures. Ensure projects meet all program requirements, including project scope and cost effectiveness.

LOCATION

This role offers remote flexibility. The Manager will support a team of Development Engineers positioned across the Mid-Atlantic US. Expected salary range of $148,500 to $165,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

LOCATION

This role offers remote flexibility. The Manager will support a team of Development Engineers positioned across the Mid-Atlantic US. Up to 30% travel per month will be required, to participate in team meetings with direct reports and senior leadership. Regular travel to our Warrendale, PA office will also be required. Candidates must be willing to work a corporate day-shift schedule on Eastern Time Zone. Our ideal candidate will reside in the Mid-Atlantic, US, preferably in the Maryland / D.C. / Northern Virginia area, in order to best accommodate regular travel needs.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Manager, Development Engineering is responsible for hands-on leadership of the Development Engineering team supporting Infrastructure Renewal and Building Upgrade & Improvement projects, with a focus on energy efficiency and sustainability. The Manager ensures that projects and project engineers meet anticipated internal and external objectives. Provides guidance and support to the Project Development Engineers during various project development phases, such as identification and qualification; conceptualization; pre-development and development; and the activities associated with those phases. Partners closely with the Sales and Construction teams to provide support for current and future opportunities. Owns department budgets and ensures that development costs do not exceed budgets.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical) and 10-years of related experience in the consulting engineering, design-build, or energy services fields

  • Ability to work effectively under high stress situations in dynamic, fast paced environments

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License

  • Financial management experience

  • Demonstrated experience in financial planning and cost management

  • Strong expertise in engineering and construction methodologies, including energy calculations and technical documentation

  • Experience reviewing and improving technical deliverables such as proposals, Investment Grade Audits (IGAs), and related documents

  • Ability to work and respond to stressful situations, environments and emergencies

  • Ability to effectively adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands and navigate frequent change, delays or unexpected events

  • Technical, analytical, consulting and organizational skills along with strong demonstrated oral and written skills

  • Proven ability to manage development engineering projects, incorporating sound project management practices and fiscal oversight, including budgeting and cost control

  • Effective written and oral communication/presentation skills, report generation & technical writing skills

  • Demonstrate organizational and project management skills

  • Demonstrated leadership skills in strategy, development, planning, organizing, coordinating, and evaluating activities

  • Demonstrated project budgeting, cost tracking, and cost estimating experience

  • Experience supervising and developing employees, including performance management, training, and conflict resolution

  • Ability to manage high-demand situations with professionalism, diplomacy, and a focus on cost-effective outcomes

  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license

  • Must have the ability to speak, read and write English. Proficiency with grammar, spelling and punctuation requires strong proofreading skills and attention to detail

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in developing energy conservation projects involving renewable energy technologies, large prime movers such as combustion turbines, biomass and landfill gas facilities

  • Ability to perform load calculations and energy analyses using industry-standard modeling software, including EnergyPlus, eQuest, Trane Trace 3D, and solar PV evaluation tools such as Helioscope, and/or design programs such as AutoCAD

  • Proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD

  • Proficiency in project scheduling and tracking using software such as Primavera and other common construction project management applications

  • CEM and/or LEED AP credentials

  • Experience using project scheduling tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar applications

About The Position

The Program Specialist, Energy Efficiency is responsible for the execution and continuous improvement of Ameren Missouri’s Efficiency programs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead projects and energy efficiency programs of limited scope; including energy efficiency education efforts.

  • Work collaboratively with the team to lead the monthly process for reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and scheduling.

  • Work cross functionally to conduct invoice reviews, quality assurance checks, audits, and event planning.

  • Develop and enforce project management procedures and policies.

  • Work independently to maintain and enhance project plans, issue tracking, and risk register.

  • Develop and support the implementation of project management tools.

  • Grow knowledge of Missouri Energy Efficiency Investment Act, energy efficiency regulatory rules, approved energy efficiency regulatory filings and associated tariffs to enhance independent decision-making capabilities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university required. Engineering, Business, Marketing, or similar background preferred. Two or more year’s professional level business, sales or customer service experience required. Experience working with Missouri Energy Efficiency Programs is preferred.

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Ability to interact with internal and external customers is required.

  • Strong communication, organization, and human relations skills required.

  • Good decision-making, problem solving, analytical, and computational skills required.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with critical time deadlines required.

  • Ability to prioritize and complete a wide variety of requests and assignments.

  • Good working knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, and Word is required.

  • Working knowledge of project management best practices.

  • Must be detail-oriented while being able to envision the large picture and be able to work independently while working on multiple tasks.

Ameren’s selection process includes a series of interviews and may include a leadership assessment process. Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates.

Compensation Range:

$69,300.00 - $107,400.00

At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.

  • Provides excellent customer service to clients, end-use utility customers, vendors, delivery team members, and industry partners.
  • Represent Utility and program at local events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Located in the greater Phoenix, AZ area
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience with energy-efficiency
  • Excellent project management, organizational, planning, budgeting, and people-management skills.  
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.  
  • Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and self-direct your work.  
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams under tight deadlines.  
  • Strong customer relationship, networking and sales skills.
