To support its expanding portfolio, Jupiter Power is seeking aDirector of Energy Managementwho will be responsible formanagement of a Qualified Scheduling Entity (QSE) deskalong with associated processes and systems, tosupportthedaily trading and dispatchingoperationsofJupitersbattery energy storage systems (BESS)portfolio, with an initial concentration in ERCOT.This individual will have the opportunity to make a quantifiable impact on company P&L working in Jupiters front office alongside traders,real-time operators,analysts, regulatory staff, and data science team. This position will be part of a growing Trading desk managing operating assets in ERCOT with expansion into CAISO, PJM, MISO, NYISO and NEPOOL.
Regular duties include (i)responsibility for desk activities associated with Level 4 QSE participation in ERCOT, including timely management of all market submissions and ISO-required communication, (ii) implementing/developing internal processes foractions and proceduresto comply withQSEmarketparticipationrequirements, (iii) supporting the Trading/Dispatching team to understand & implement new market rules and regulations that impact portfolio operations, (iv) training junior real time traders on market operations andenergymanagement, (v)managingrelationship with the MMS vendor to support the trading and dispatch of BESS assets in the Day-Ahead Energy, Real-Time Energy and Ancillary Service Markets and (vi)supporting initiatives to advance internal proprietary tools forscheduling and dispatch decision-making in the Real Time market.
Key Responsibilities
QSE Management
- Applyin depth ISO/ERCOT market operations knowledge tomanageQSE activities related tomarket submissions, ISO-required communications, and real-time response to market events.
- Lead the implementation/development of procedures and guidelines for theQSE desk and widerTrading team tofulfilthe requirements of aLevel-4QSE in ERCOT, in accordance with Jupiter Power Risk Policyandtocomply withany QSEoperationsrequirementsunderthird partyagreements.
- Ensure coordination between QSE desk and Jupiter SCADA team to identify and troubleshoot communication issues between the site equipment, internal data management systems, and third-party partners such as the TO or the ISO.
- Track applicable market rules to ensurethatJupitersmarket operations comply with ISO protocolsand/or recommend improvements in internal procedures, including working withinternalcompliance group to ensure that real-time processes adhere to PUC & NERCrules.
- Primary point of contact to lead implementation ofERCOT RTC+B market design changes(Real-Time Co-Optimization + Batteries) in Jupiters internal systems and procedures.
- Manage the relationship withJupitersMMS vendor toensureQSEsystems functionality, including troubleshooting of issues and scoping of system requirements.
- Maintain a relationship withJupitersISO Client Representative to support asset onboarding and ongoing support for asset operations and reporting.
- Collaborate with Trading team colleagues to devise asset-optimization strategies to maximize portfolio revenue andsupport the implementation ofreal-timeBESS trading & bidding strategiesin adherence with risk policy guidelines.
- Work internally with the Regulatory team, Trading/Dispatchingteam, Settlements team and externally with System Operators to understand BES participation in the market and find creative solutions to changing market structures.
- Manage dailyreal-time operations processes to ensure that trading and scheduling decisions are executed to satisfy energy and ancillary service obligations and to manage capacity (state of charge)in compliance with ISO ruleswhile maximizing revenue capture rates.

Requirements

SUMMARY

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Grid Operations Management - Manages a team of grid operations staff responsible for reliably operating PGE's transmission and distribution systems in compliance with electric system reliability standards, applicable tariffs and other rules, and taking actions necessary to protect electrical equipment and ensure public safety; provides technical management for the team, ensuring that objectives are met and all relevant standards/procedures are followed; ensures that operational problems are identified and resolved; ensures that operational procedures and working practices are current and fit for the purpose.
Control Center Operational Technology Systems - Manages activities that provide engineering and operational support for all control center operational technology systems (e.g., Energy Management System - EMS, Distribution Outage Management System - OMS, Advanced Distribution Management System - ADMS), and Historian systems of operational analysis; oversees the proper operations and maintenance of control center operational technology systems to ensure PGE's electric grid operates in a safe and efficient manner; oversees modifications to control center systems to ensure that field changes through construction and maintenance activities are correctly reflected in these systems in a timely manner for safe and reliable operations; ensures proper functioning of applications to provide situational awareness of transmission and generation constraints, high systems availability so that the 24/7 control center operations are not affected, and periodic systems testing at backup site so they are ready for emergency operations, if needed.
North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Compliance - Ensures staff follows proper change control processes modifying and upgrading EMS applications in accordance with NERC critical infrastructure protection (CIP) and other NERC reliability requirements; maintains comprehensive knowledge of a diverse set of NERC regulatory standards; serves as subject matter expert on NERC reliability compliance as it pertains to technology systems used in control center operations; monitors changes to NERC Reliability Standards and evaluates whether PGE should support revisions issued by NERC; ensures system upgrades and changes to the operational technology systems follow proper IT policies and procedures, including NERC CIP policies and procedures.
Critical System Support - Manages 24/7 support coverage to ensure that critical systems are always supported through appropriate on-call staffing, incident management and escalation process; ensures support is provided to control center operations during emergencies such as storms or other situations where an incident management team is stood up.
Grid Technology Projects - Initiates and manages technology projects in coordination with Grid Operations and IT management that improve operational effectiveness of the control center and its ability to adapt to changing operational needs and in support of PGE's strategic initiatives; leads efforts to research, develop, specify and implement technology systems used in 24/7 real-time operations of the control center functions.
Financial Management - Monitors and manages expenditures, ensuring that all financial targets are met, and examines any areas where budgets/expenditures vary from plan; assists with the definition and operation of effective financial controls and decision making.
Resourcing - Oversees resourcing decisions and planning for team; partners with HR in the definition of jobs, recruitment, evaluation and selection processes.
Professional Development - Reviews organizational development needs and training strategies to determine required learning and development outcomes for the team; provides guidance in the creation of development plans; monitors ongoing progress and provides coaching and mentoring and provides feedback; completes annual performance management reviews.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS

* Prefer eight or more years in a position related to operation of generation, transmission or distribution systems working with FERC, NERC and WECC regulatory processes or related field.

Compensation Range:

Actual total compensation, including a performance based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity. Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Energy Management Systems Manager for the Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O). Reporting to the Assistant Director of Energy Management Systems (EMS), this position is responsible for the management and operations of the Utilities Energy Management Systems and Building Controls unit. The unit is responsible for the maintenance and operations of pneumatic and direct digital control building systems in approximately 6 million square feet of university buildings on the Busch/Livingston, College Avenue, and Cook/Douglass campuses. This role supervises staff, manages daily operations, and oversees technical aspects and system upgrades.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Has sole responsibility for all facets of the day-to-day supervision and management of the energy management systems operations on all five New Brunswick campuses.
- Must ensure that the workforce is properly deployed to respond to planned, preventive, and emergency work.
- Determines the critical areas of building operating controls that need upgrades, prioritizes obtaining all quotes and pricing, and forwards that information for funding.
- Manages the financial spending of the EMS shop to maintain the budget.
- Attains, supports, and maintains IP addresses for all web-accessible buildings.
- Maintains operations and system upgrades for all web-accessed servers.
- Coordinates with IT personnel for all software and systems backups on a nightly basis and schedules access to the server room for all contractor server needs.
- Supports and maintains laptop revisions and licenses for operating systems field access programming and troubleshooting.
- Reviews operating systems communication protocols, integrates communication language protocols to cross-interpret to a BACnet protocol, and integrates older proprietary standalone building ATC systems into the BACnet Rutgers campus-wide web access graphical interface monitoring system.

- A bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience and five years of experience in the maintenance, repair, and/or installation of pneumatic and direct digital control energy management systems.
- A minimum of five years of experience in the supervision of technicians responsible for pneumatic and digital control installation, maintenance, and repair, preferably in a union environment, and the management of budgets.
- Valid Driver's License
- Must have thorough, hands-on experience in troubleshooting and replacing pneumatic controls, as well as in troubleshooting, replacing, and programming microprocessor-based electronic controls.
- Advanced knowledge in PC systems operating hardware and software, Automated Logic Controls (ALC), Honeywell, Siemens, and Allen Bradley system software and hardware programming and configuration, networking connectivity (IP, IPX), systems routers/gateways, building switch port, and Cat-5 cable identification. - Prefer 10 years plus experience in the maintenance, repair and/or installation of pneumatic and direct digital control energy management systems.
- Niagara certification preferred. Some Novell experience helpful.
The position regularly uses and supports equipment and software for building controls, ranging from 65-year-old pneumatic controls and 30-year-old electronic controllers to present-day direct digital controllers (DDC) in conjunction with pneumatic operator end devices. The next-generation systems currently being installed include Honeywell CARE proprietary protocols, BACnet
COMFORTPORT DDC, Automated Logic Controls DDC, and Siemens DDC. These controllers require the use of software/hardware programs and programming, IP addresses, and all associated configurations. Nightly backup servers, LAN-gate, and Jace field communication gateways are powered by emergency power panels. All field-installed operating programs and software are maintained on CDs and laptops for system reconfiguration and downloads in the field. Web Accessible Building Automation System:

POSITION PURPOSE:
Responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of all Building Automation Systems throughout Wake County Public School System (WCPSS). Works closely with operators and other field personnel to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair Building Automation Systems. Performs highly skilled technical work involving maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems and building automation systems.

Work is considered heavy physical work, requiring the exertion of up to 75 pounds of force. Position Purpose

Position Description
Energy Infrastructure Partners (EIP) is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Energy Management Consultant to lead and support commercial and industrial facility managers in major investor-owned utility-sponsored energy management programs. As the Energy Coach, you will play a crucial role in guiding facility managers towards sustainable energy practices, empowering them to achieve energy efficiency goals and positively impact their organizations.
Objectives of this Role
- Empower and support commercial and industrial facility managers in adopting sustainable energy practices and achieving improved energy efficiency within their properties.
- Effect sustainable change by teaching facility managers to strategically manage energy and drive continuous improvement in energy management practices.
- Build strong relationships with sponsors and stakeholders to enhance program effectiveness and refine Strategic Energy Management (SEM) curriculum for optimal impact.
- Adhere to Energy Infrastructure Partners' quality standards, maintaining a working knowledge of relevant technologies, best practices, and upholding federal and state regulations.
- Conduct one-on-one coaching sessions with commercial and industrial facility managers, addressing their energy management challenges and providing guidance on energy-saving strategies.
- Lead educational workshops and training sessions to raise awareness of energy conservation and promote energy-efficient behaviors among facility managers.
- Assist facility managers in identifying energy-saving opportunities within commercial and industrial properties through energy assessments.
- Collaborate with facility managers to establish energy reduction targets aligned with the utility-sponsored program's objectives and organizational goals.
- Review and analyze facility managers' energy performance data to identify areas for improvement and develop personalized action plans.
- Provide technical expertise on energy-efficient technologies and systems, assisting facility managers in implementing energy-saving measures tailored to their specific needs.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, energy regulations, and emerging technologies to ensure the program's effectiveness and relevance.
- Monitor and track the progress of facility managers in achieving their energy efficiency goals, offering continuous support and feedback.
- Prepare progress reports and updates on program participants' energy performance for presentation to investor-owned utilities and stakeholders.
- Liaise with investor-owned utilities to align energy-saving efforts with organizational goals and objectives, fostering strong partnerships.
- Evaluate the overall effectiveness of the program and recommend improvements to enhance its impact and reach.
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with other energy coaches to share best practices and lessons learned.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, sustainability, education, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience as an energy engineer, energy coach, technical sales, or in a similar role.
- Demonstrated expertise in energy management, energy efficiency, or sustainability initiatives.
- Strong coaching, training, facilitating, and mentoring skills, with the ability to empower and motivate facility managers.
- Profound knowledge of energy-efficient technologies, systems, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with diverse audiences.
- Understanding of energy regulations and sustainability practices.
- Professional Engineer (PE, FE, EIT), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification.
- Experience working with commercial and industrial facility managers in energy management initiatives sponsored by major investor-owned utilities.
- Experience in developing energy management or decarbonization plans for commercial businesses, municipalities, or utilities.
- Prior experience with Retro-commissioning (RCx).
- Familiarity with utility and governmental energy program implementation.
- Proven ability to analyze and troubleshoot energy consumption challenges, from identifying opportunities to implementing projects and conducting necessary measurement and verification (M&V) of impacts.
- Proficiency in energy and regression modeling.

- $80,000-$120,000 annual salary commensurate with experience and qualifications
