Summary:
The Energy Analyst will provide expert sustainment and energy capability analysis in support of the U.S. Army Futures Command (AFC) Sustainment Capabilities and Integration Directorate (SCDID). This role supports Army modernization priorities by assessing energy production, storage, distribution, collection, and management requirements, as well as integrating sustainment considerations into modernization initiatives.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Complete Defense Acquisition University (DAU) Life Cycle Logistician Level I training within 90 days of hire (unless previously completed).
- Support numerous AO-level Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and Working Groups (WGs) to review sustainment doctrine, modernization documents, and assess support impacts of modernization initiatives through DOTMLPF-P analysis.
- Collaborate with CFTs, AFC CDIDs, PMs, Quartermaster, Ordnance, Transportation, Soldier Support Institute, Human Resources Command, JAG, Joint Modernization Command, and Centers of Excellence to integrate logistics with modernization priorities.
- Assist in planning, integrating, and assessing DOTMLPF-P initiatives in operational exercises (live, constructed, and simulated) to enhance training, enable interoperability, and inform modernization decisions.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in logistics readiness and requirements IPTs, assessing challenges from current to future force capabilities.
- Develop Comment Resolution Matrices (CRMs) for assigned document reviews related to modernization priorities.
- Support the development of capabilities and requirements for energy production, storage, distribution, collection, and management in support of Army modernization.
- Identify and analyze energy capability gaps; develop recommended solution approaches in support of Capability Based Assessments (CBAs) and Concept Required Capabilities (CRCs).
- Contribute to FCC Pathfinder Roadmap development for Energy Solutions CRC 19 and other energy-dependent CRCs.
- Performs additional duties as needed.
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Understanding of Army modernization priorities, DOTMLPF-P framework, and logistics integration processes.
- Ability to analyze complex technical data and develop actionable recommendations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare detailed reports and briefings.
- Minimum 3-4 years of experience.

The Department of Homeless Services (DHS) is one of the largest organizations of its kind committed to preventing and addressing homelessness in New York City. The Facilities and Logistics Division (F&L) is responsible for monitoring DHS shelters as it relates to the maintenance of building systems. Within the Facilities & Logistics Division is Environmental Design & Construction which manages a capital construction portfolio more than $600M for reconstruction and upgrades at all city-owned shelters. A team of project managers oversees construction projects utilizing various DHS design and construction contracts. DHS also partners with the City's Department of Design & Construction to manage the larger capital projects.
The Department of Homeless Services (DHS) is recruiting for one (1) Energy Conservation Specialist III to function as Energy Analyst. The Energy Analyst will work:
- Collect and capture additional asset information to build and improve DHS's asset inventories.
- Analyze energy bills including utility rates or tariffs to gather historical energy usage data and determine patterns of use to show annual or monthly needs for heating, cooling, lighting, or other energy needs.
- Gather and analyze field data related to energy usage and update DEM (i.e., number of computers, AC units, etc.).
- Support the design and development of energy efficiency and/or clean energy projects by site surveys and prepare energy project funding proposals and supporting documents (calculations for Energy Saving, GHG Reduction etc.).
- Manage energy project tracking, performance management and reporting and provide technical expertise throughout the overall project lifecycle.
- Evaluate designs or specifications submitted by contractors to ensure accuracy and quality. Perform measurement and verification activities.

Qualifications:
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in architecture or architectural technology; biology; building science; chemistry; construction management; energy management; engineering, engineering technology; environmental science; facilities management; physics; or a related field; or completion of an apprentice program, a minimum of two (2) years in length, in a construction trade with an emphasis on energy efficiency for buildings and two (2) years of satisfactory, full-time experience in energy generation or conservation work such as planning, developing, implementing, inspecting, analyzing, testing, and verifying interventions to generate clean energy or reduce energy usage; or four (4) years of satisfactory, full-time experience in energy generation or conservation work such as planning, developing, implementing, inspecting, analyzing, testing, and verifying interventions to generate clean energy or reduce energy usage; or education and/or experience equivalent to "1," "2," or "3" above. One (1) year of acceptable experience will be credited for every 30 semester credits of undergraduate education in any of the fields described in "1" above. NYCHAs Asset & Capital Management (A&CM) Division leads the Authoritys capital, sustainability and resiliency programs that comprise a $6 billion capital projects portfolio one of the largest in NY State as well as range of activities related to property modernization and strategic asset management. A&CM aims to preserve and modernize NYCHA buildings and apartments through strategic portfolio planning, comprehensive design standards, innovative financing and project delivery models, strong partnership with NYCHA residents and other stakeholders, and effective program and project management of capital investments. The Sustainability Department leads the organization's efforts to pilot and scale-up sustainable practices and technologies, reducing environmental impact, and enhancing the quality of life for residents. The department is comprised of three teams with responsibilities across grant acquisition, policy development, environmental planning and review, and innovative programs in areas such as climate change and flood resiliency, green infrastructure, disaster recovery, solar leasing, energy efficiency, electrification and decarbonization, building management systems, waste infrastructure and recycling, and micro-mobility. The Sustainability Team is also tasked with overseeing NYCHAs Sustainability Agenda and commitment to meeting its greenhouse gas reduction targets set forth in Local Law 97.
The Sustainability Departments Energy Programs is seeking to hire an Energy Analyst. Work relevant to this position includes:
- Implementation of NYCHAs Sustainability Agenda, a plan to reduce NYCHA's energy, resource consumption, and carbon footprint, improve resident health and well-being, and create environmentally friendly developments for NYCHA' s residents and the surrounding communities, as well as oversight of the Authoritys progress towards state and local climate commitments.
- Management of programs that advance the sustainability and resiliency of NYCHA buildings and grounds, including in the areas of flood resiliency, green infrastructure, disaster recovery, solar, energy and water efficiency, electrification and decarbonization, and waste.
- Scale and operationalize sustainability & resiliency programs at NYCHA through interdepartmental collaboration and recommendations.
The primary responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Analyze data to inform NYCHAs greenhouse gas emissions reduction roadmap.
- Conduct energy policy-related research relevant to NYCHA.
- Assist in updating NYCHAs Sustainability Agenda and related policy documents.
- Represent NYCHA in city and state policy discussions, including on incentive eligibility, utility rate cases and local law working groups.
- Use research outcomes to provide guidance on Energy and Sustainability Program development and implementation strategy, as well as support other Authority goals.

At Concentric, the Analyst serves a critical role on project teams as the primary contributor of modeling, data analysis, and research tasks that are essential to a successful client engagement. Our clients come to us to help them solve a problem. Analysts work collaboratively with more senior colleagues to help create innovative solutions to solve these problems for our utility and energy clients.
Responsibilities include:
- Research stocks and bonds for public utility companies.
- Research trends and news within the utility industry, including filings, mergers and acquisitions, competitive position, and financial stability of organizations.
- Utilize Excel and other quantitative software to analyze data.
- Research and analyze capital markets and perform debt and equity analyses.
- Create and utilize models within Excel.
- Report on securities research to project managers.
- Utilize Bloomberg terminal, S&P website, Lexis-Nexis and other sites to conduct appropriate research.
- Write analyses, whitepapers, and other documentation from researched materials.
- Work on various projects within the energy and utility space.
- Mentor and guide junior staff on project work.
- Bachelor's Degree required, ideally in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or Energy.
- Must have a superior academic record - a GPA of 3.5 or above is desired.
- Previous relevant internships or 1-2 years' work experience within finance, investments, math, economics, public policy, and regulation within the energy/utility industry. Consulting experience within energy/utilities highly desirable.
- Strong quantitative skills and research skills, with the ability to synthesize the information accurately.
- Strong writing skills with very good attention to detail, grammar, and spelling. Must be able to write extensive reports for clients including visualizations.
- Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills with the ability to perform advanced functions including VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, COUNTIF, pivot tables, financial modeling, regressions, forecasting, and the creation of charts and graphs.

NYCHA's Asset & Capital Management (A&CM) Division leads the Authority's capital, sustainability and resiliency programs that comprise a $6 billion capital projects portfolio - one of the largest in NY State - as well as range of activities related to property modernization and strategic asset management. A&CM aims to preserve and modernize NYCHA buildings and apartments through strategic portfolio planning, comprehensive design standards, innovative financing and project delivery models, strong partnership with NYCHA residents and other stakeholders, and effective program and project management of capital investments. The Division also positions NYCHA's housing portfolio for the future by piloting and scaling-up sustainable and resilient technologies and practices, improving residents' quality of life while enhancing building performance. The Sustainability Department leads the organization's efforts to pilot and scale-up sustainable practices and technologies, reducing environmental impact, and enhancing the quality of life for residents. The department is comprised of three teams with responsibilities across grant acquisition, policy development, environmental planning and review, and innovative programs in areas such as climate change and flood resiliency, green infrastructure, disaster recovery, solar leasing, energy efficiency, electrification and decarbonization, building management systems, waste infrastructure and recycling, and micro-mobility. The Sustainability Team is also tasked with overseeing NYCHA's Sustainability Agenda and commitment to meeting its greenhouse gas reduction targets set forth in Local Law 97.
The Sustainability Department's Energy Programs is seeking to hire an Energy Analyst. Work relevant to this position includes:
1.Implementation of NYCHA's Sustainability Agenda, a plan to reduce NYCHA's energy, resource consumption, and carbon footprint, improve resident health and well-being, and create environmentally friendly developments for NYCHA' s residents and the surrounding communities, as well as oversight of the Authority's progress towards state and local climate commitments.
2.Management of programs that advance the sustainability and resiliency of NYCHA buildings and grounds, including in the areas of flood resiliency, green infrastructure, disaster recovery, solar, energy and water efficiency, electrification and decarbonization, and waste.
3.Scale and operationalize sustainability & resiliency programs at NYCHA through interdepartmental collaboration and recommendations.
The Energy Analyst, reporting to the Deputy Director of Energy Programs, will support the development of the Authority's roadmap to meet ambitious greenhouse gas emissions reductions targets, identify financing and Public Private Partnership (PPP) opportunities, conduct policy research, and update key policy documents including NYCHA's Sustainability Agenda. This role will help ensure NYCHA's compliance with local laws related to energy and climate change.
The primary responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to the following:
1.Analyze data to inform NYCHA's greenhouse gas emissions reduction roadmap.
2.Conduct energy policy-related research relevant to NYCHA.
3.Assist in updating NYCHA's Sustainability Agenda and related policy documents.
4.Represent NYCHA in city and state policy discussions, including on incentive eligibility, utility rate cases and local law working groups.
5.Use research outcomes to provide guidance on Energy and Sustainability Program development and implementation strategy, as well as support other Authority goals.
6.Engage and coordinate with a range of stakeholders, including NYC Agencies, local electric and gas utilities, labor organizations, environmental advocates, affordable housing groups, and NYCHA Tenant Associations.
7.Identify opportunities to fund Sustainability work through non-traditional financing and Public Private Partnerships (PPP).
8.Work with NYCHA's utility providers to leverage incentives, direct install programs and demand reduction opportunities.
