ADB is seeking a Level II DC Power Technician to provide mid-level installations on various DC Power project sites. The DC Power Technician has the technical knowledge, skills and experience to perform installations and removals of nonpowered equipment. The ideal candidate will be customer and quality centric, have a complete buy-in to safety, with a strong work ethic, and ALL IN attitude to achieve results.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides mid-level DC power installations and removals including running and dressing power cables, routing cables, making terminations, etc.
- Ability to install and troubleshoot DC electrical including DC Power plants, rectifiers/converters, PDU’s, Inverters, etc.
- Can independently perform the addition or removal of non-powered equipment including wiring and connections
- Ability to perform battery installations independently
- Utilizes power tools to core walls for mounting racks and/or cabinets
- Full understanding of project scopes and changes; can identify and report change orders to management
- Ability to read and understand prints
- Highly customer centric with basic understanding of client method of procedure, answering inquiries and following up as needed

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
- 1-4+ years of DC Power installation experience within the telecommunications industry required
- OSHA 30 Certification preferred (ability to obtain within 30 days of hire required)
- Valid driver license with the ability to drive a company vehicle required; must possess a DOT Card
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
The starting pay for this position is $25/hr and may vary based on the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.

Position SummaryThis position will be responsible for project development and growth of Duke Energy's Federal Project Development group, which focuses on utility energy services contracts (UESCs). The person filling this position should have extensive experience developing federal UESCs and/or federal energy savings performance contracts, along with extensive knowledge of federal contracting procedures and the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). This position will report to the Director, Federal Project Development & Execution.
This position provides leadership and direction for project and business development and overall customer engagement associated with the development of energy and water conservation measures (ECMs) and the required energy cost savings associated with federal performance contracting requirements. The person filling this position must have extensive experience with evaluating facility support systems to identify problems and opportunities for improvement as well as solution identification, including financial paybacks, schedule development (in MS Project), resource planning, budgeting, process management, quality control, risk management, and basic financial modeling.
This position will execute on and help expand Duke Energy's current UESC offerings within its regulated footprint. This position will lead project and business development efforts to enhance and develop relationships and opportunities with multiple federal customers. This position will be responsible for leading the technical development of federal UESCs and working closely with our energy team to negotiate and execute successful UESCs. The position will also be expected to perform in a project or business developer role on specific projects, as needed, in order to further support the project development team. This role will engage in a portfolio of projects in excess of $200 million annually, associated with individual projects ranging in size from $M to multi-millions.
This position will manage working with a team of individuals to enhance Duke Energy's project and business development efforts. This role will also require working with multiple internal Duke Energy teams to effectively scope and execute project implementation to ensure successful delivery of UESCs.
Additionally, the position will be responsible for developing and maintaining multi-disciplinary relationships with external parties (e.g., federal customers, subcontractors), as well as relationships with regulated utility distribution and transmission departments to ensure solutions integrate with the utility delivery system. The position will also be expected to perform in a lead project developer role on specific projects, as needed, in order to further support the project development team.
This role is customer facing and is responsible for operating under multiple regulatory and non-regulated business models across the Duke Energy territories.
ResponsibilitiesLead Duke Energy's UESC project and business development, identifying and defining new project opportunities that result in executed UESC task order awards and modifications
Manage all aspects of UESC project development, from PA to IGA through task order development, including energy modeling, project pricing, and performance risk management, to deliver ECMs and the required energy cost savings associated with federal UESC requirements.
Provide engineering oversight and guidance throughout design development, construction, project commissioning, and operations, including proposals, technical reports, cost estimates, RFI support, and presentations.
Manage the UESC project and business development process with Federal customers, identifying, assessing, and building relationships with customer stakeholders and decision-makers, identifying and developing feasible project opportunities that meet customer and Duke Energy needs.
Develop teams and execute Federal business plans to deliver contracted scope at high-quality while ensuring projects are built in compliance with Duke Energy's and all applicable codes, exceeding customer expectations.
Work closely with multiple colleagues that include business development, delivery, operations & maintenance, and contract/financing team members to deliver consistent, successful results to federal customers.
Develop and coordinate all equipment procurement associated with designated led projects (pricing, terms & conditions, delivery & storage, purchase orders) with Construction Project Management associated with designated led projects.
Target projects that provide reliable, high-quality services and deliver acceptable margins for the Company.
Develop and lead successful proposal responses that effectively and clearly articulate the technical and financial benefits of UESCs.
Manage projects by working to develop a diverse staff of project developers and assure staff comply with appropriate codes and standards.
Perform as the lead UESC project developer on specific projects, as needed.
Provide insight and coordinate with the various internal and external organizations that are providing services to the project (e.g., business development, project development, project controls, legal, federal compliance, operations, etc.).
Establish and communicate expectations to project and business development team and project team members and overall project stakeholders.
Develop metrics to monitor quality and performance results and ensure the execution of projects according to plan.
Regularly attend and participate in federal UESC customer meetings, conferences, workshops, etc.

The Urban Gardening and Environmental Sustainability Teacher will plan and provide for appropriate learning experiences for students. Provide an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of individuals to ensure success for each student. Supervise students in a variety of school related settings. Monitor and evaluate student outcomes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Primary functions may include the following duties, responsibilities, skills, abilities, and other characteristics. This list of tasks is ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY and is not intended to be a comprehensive listing of tasks performed by all positions within this classification. The Urban Gardening Teacher will:
- Facilitate garden science classes, incorporating both environmental science and nutrition education as they relate to the garden;
- Worksclosely with classroom teachers to develop lessons that support classroom teaching in a range of curriculum areas (science, social studies, mathematics, language arts, etc.)
- Oversee and coordinate students' hands-on experiences in the garden (planting, tending, harvesting and cooking);
- Build involvement in and commitment to the school garden within the school community, including teachers, administrators, students, parents and volunteers;
- Build capacity within the school by co-teaching with classroom teachers, and developing teacher skills in outdoor classroom management techniques;
- Maintains the garden, coordinating volunteers and working with community partners to secure all needed supplies.
- Knowledge and Pedagogy
- At least 2-3 years of teaching experience middle-level aged youth (outdoor group management experience preferred);
- Knowledge and skills in small-scale organic food production or home gardening;
- Knowledge of or interest in topics including urban gardening, botany, environmental science, health and nutrition, food systems, food access;
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations including youth and adults;
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including public speaking skills;
- Ability to work independently and be flexible;
- Teachers understand the subject area content and clearly communicate how knowledge in the subject field is created, organized, and linked to other disciplines.
- Generate multiple paths to mastery of standards through deeper learning experiences.
- Use comprehensive planning skills to design effective instruction focused on rigorous academic content and 21st Century skills. The Environmental Sustainability Teacher will:
- Conduct environmentally based lessons in both classroom and field settings.
- Develop and deliver educational programming, specific to the sustainability of the environment.
- Research and design curriculum and programs that promote environmental literacy
- Develop and implement strategies to engage and educate students on environmental topics
- Organize field trips and provide outdoor activities designed to foster understanding and appreciation of the environment

Job PurposeThe Electrical Controls Design role provides high quality, reasonably priced, on-time hardware, software, and safety design solutions to ensure stable new model and new technology introduction in all Honda Development and Manufacturing North American manufacturing facilities.
Key Accountabilities- Work in an engineering team atmosphere understand design requirements to create/modify automated production equipment.
- Provide electrical design to produce engineering hardware data to assemble/build, and wire a control system for production equipment
- Provide electrical design to produce engineering software data to accomplish the control task for production equipment processes. (i.e. PLC, HMI, Motion Control, and Robotic programming).
- Provide on-site support to install, system up, and mature the control system for production equipment.
- Create and maintain a critical path schedule for work assignments to produce the control system design deliverables to achieve the overall project milestones for small to medium projects/ low to medium complexity.
- Conduct and attend design reviews to ensure design standards are achieved and design meets specification requirements for work assignment deliverables.
- Continuously apply engineering mindset to learn new skills/processes/technology to expands one knowledge base in relevant manufacturing technologies.
- 4-year Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or 2-year Electrical related degree with experience.
- 2 term of Co-Op or internship experience in field of Degree or 2-5 years' experience designing industrial control systems.
- Knowledge of machine safety regulations. Knowledge of NEC/NFPA 79 standards.
- Servo position control experience.
- Robotic integration experience.
- Field I/O networking experience.
- Project management capabilities.
- Basic background in automated equipment electrical hardware/software design.
- Knowledge of PLC and HMI hardware and software functions.
- Perform AC and DC power requirement calculations.
- Determine appropriate hardware and components to include in a control system to meet machine safety and process requirements.
- Determine appropriate software programming and logic to accomplish the safety and functional control to meet machine safety and process requirements.
- Determine risk to associate safety and production stability based on the control system design creation or modification task.
- 75% Office environment - Design.
- 25% Manufacturing floor - Installation / System up / Maturation.
- Must be willing to conduct physical confirmations in the manufacturing environment and conduct testing/debug on the manufacturing floor and/or at vendor sites. Sometimes on weekends.
- Travel up to 20% (North American Manufacturing Plants) Potential for International Travel.
- Average work week is 45~48 hours (some weekends and 1 week shutdowns twice per year).
