Job Purpose
To contribute to the development of functioning prototypes that will eventually become production All Terrain Vehicles and Side by Side vehicles (ATV/SxS), researching and applying new technologies to support business targets and maintaining global vehicle product quality.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop complex component and system layouts for All Terrain Vehicles and Side by Side vehicles (ATV/SxS) prototype vehicles using computer-aided design software that achieve concept targets, function requirements, and manufacturing requisites with limited supervision. Communicate specification requirements and manufacturing control points via prototype and production drawings that result in setting the final specifications of global All Terrain Vehicles and Side by Side vehicles (ATV/SxS) new models and mass production vehicles. Maintain accurate technical, development, and administrative documentation as required.
- Establish or contribute to establishing cost targets for responsible parts that contribute to achievement of the vehicle development targets and achieve the cost targets through optimizing difficult part/system designs and offsetting any spec changes after target fix through implementation of additional cost reduction ideas.
- Create and manage schedule of individual work to ensure deadlines are met, coordinate resource needs with supervisor, and effectively utilize contractor resources with limited supervision. Consistently communicate project status and participate or lead project meetings, discussions, and development events.
- Generate high-level ideas and contribute to building strategies that support the evolution of new technologies. Support or lead maturation of ideas to prepare for development applications with limited supervision.
- Support market quality themes with limited supervision. Utilize problem-solving methods to analyse root causes. Develop and implement configuration management specs as needed with little supervision.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Required Education:
Bachelors degree in Engineering (electrical, mechanical, etc)
Required Experience:
5 or more years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in Powersports or Automotive field.

Job Purpose
As a senior member of the Advanced CAE Department, you will be responsible to lead 1D CAE model and method creation related to electrical systems like wire harness and electrical control units in order to verify voltage drop and electrical load-balance as well as electrical device performance and power consumption. Proficient use of CAE contributes to improved optimization, speed, and efficiency of our products and development processes.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead a small team to develop and validate new CAE methods for both specification setting and product verification.
- Lead collaboration and negotiation with test and part design engineers to understand the physical part and test procedures in order to accurately set the CAE model boundaries, constraints, and assumptions. Effectively present analysis and information to technical experts.
- Create documentation for the registration of CAE Models as a verified tool for specification setting and product verification.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- BS in mechanical or electrical engineering. Advanced degree preferred.
- BS and 6+ years engineering experience minimum. MS and 3+ years engineering experience or PhD and 0-2 years engineering experience.
- Expertise with 1D CAE such as Matlab/Simulink/Simscape, Ansys Twin Builder, Amesim. Also proficient with programming language software such as Python, and VBA.
- Extensive experience with creation of new CAE Models/Methods including performing verification and validation
- Must possess familiarity with static and dynamic electrical analysis
- Ability to break down complex concepts into simple summaries
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Work is primarily conducted at an office desk. Some time is spent at test facilities for collaboration.

Job Purpose
Act as SME to Lead/Support multidisciplinary facility projects and systems (PLC, shifting speed drive, motors, arc-flash, etc.) by effectively performing electronic engineering responsibilities. Specialty topics may include, but not limited to electronic utilities (supply and distribution, lighting, fire detection and alarm, etc.) Work with contractors to verify that the design and construction meet specifications, code and performance expectations. Monitor progress and performance against the project plan; resolve operational problems, minimize delays, identify, develop, and gather necessary resources to complete the project
Analyses current operating conditions and recommends new preventative and proactive methods for maintaining and monitoring facilities systems. Evaluates facility standards and practices to improve maintenance procedures and ensure optimal operational efficiency. Involved in business planning process and long-term investment planning. Participates in the planning and installation of new facility systems and provides knowledge of maintenance, repair, and operations for various infrastructure, equipment, and building disciplines.
Key Accountabilities
- Utility Management – Manage utility infrastructure reliability, capacity, and safety. Assess utility capacity versus demand, and analyse operational trends. Plan and execute necessary utility outage activities, including appropriate customer communication and support. Evaluate new technology and manage system end-of-life characteristics, seeking opportunities for utility infrastructure innovation. Apply electrical and facilities expertise and facilitate the sharing of knowledge and best practice.
- Technical Project Management -- Work with internal customers and external consultants, contractors, and suppliers to develop initial concept, specification, design, procurement scope, fabrication/construction, and installation-related documents. Communicate and work with department design team members, bringing technical expertise and knowledge to projects, and managing the overall execution of projects.
- Budget Management -- Maintain organizational budgets for capital investment and expense activities, such as maintenance and repair of facility assets and contracted support services. Budget responsibilities include formulating requests, tracking expenditures, analyzing trends, and adjusting budgets to address business needs.
- Contract Management -- Arrange and manage appropriate contracted services support, as needed. Ensure all work meets or exceeds defined organization targets. Manage work to ensure all deliverables comply with associated contract documents, codes and regulations, industry standards, and Honda standards, as applicable.
- Maintenance Coordination -- Prepare and execute preventative maintenance programs to ensure operational health and optimum uptime for assigned infrastructure, equipment, and building assets.
- Operations Support -- Utilize technical knowledge of electrical utility and infrastructure systems, project management, analytical decision-making, risk assessment, and troubleshooting / problem solving, to support facilities-related operations in order to meet or exceed organization metrics.

Ensure safe working conditions have been established by reviewing documentation (including procedures, job hazard analysis, and permits) and auditing the energy program for construction, commissioning, maintenance, and operations activities.

Identify and assist in the mitigation of project risks and monitor the development and implementation of corrective action plans - manage Non-Conformance Reports and resolution.
Participate in High-Risk Activity (HRA) planning meetings associated with Energy Isolation.
Ensure all sources of energy are identified.
Ensures all relevant documentation has been performed, reviewed and all sources of energy are identified. This would include post-turnover documentation.
Work with construction and commissioning teams to ensure safe working conditions to properly test and validate installation, operation, and performance of MEP systems.
Ensure process established for energy isolation verifies qualifications, training, and PPE requirements for personnel performing work.
Coordinate with appropriate entities to delegate alternates that are qualified to assume roles during multi-shift and peak energization time frames.
Participate in daily/weekly meetings and site walks with subcontractors and clients.
Verify / Validate the processes and execution for determination of individual or group LOTO, including the processes for centralized LOTO and integration with all site entities.
Verify / Validate and coordinate with and applicable contractors the energy isolation assurance process, including the identification and plan to close gaps identified with assurance audits.
Establishes and manages an Energy Isolation assurance process and works with site teams to close any gaps identified in assurance audits.
Support the change management process in providing clarification and guidance on questions regarding scope, justification, and technical detail.
Partner closely with Environmental, Health, and Safety teams to drive operational excellence in all aspects of the Control of Hazardous Energy.

Job Requirements:

The focus in retail markets would include protection of consumers from deceptive energy marketing and unconscionable prices.
The Federal-State Energy Analyst would be a liaison on behalf of the agency at the Consumer Advocates of the PJM States (CAPS), the National Association of State Utility Consumer Advocates (NASUCA), and PJM, among other organizations.
Applicants must have a minimum of eight years of experience in utility regulation. This experience should include familiarity with federal and state electric policy, electric wholesale and retail markets, transmission regulatory issues, and fundamentals of utility regulation.
Applicants must have at least a bachelors degree in business administration, accounting, finance, economics, or other related degree. A graduate degree is preferred in such study areas. Applicants should demonstrate excellence in oral and written communications, including persuasive writing and making technical issues understandable. A thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (including Excel, Word, and Outlook), online research, and other technology used in consumer advocacy is expected.

Position Summary
The Energy Conservation Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining strong customer relationships in addition to focusing on Energy Appraisals and remediation opportunities. This role may also conduct, perform, prepare, and present appraisals, book orders, assist in project execution, and help collect receivables.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain customer relationships by demonstrating professionalism in providing excellent customer service through regular contact, prompt, quality responses, and offering client entertainment opportunities
- Help to identify and develop new customers and opportunities
- Seek and identify appraisal opportunities with new and assigned customers, including mechanical insulation, building envelope, steam trap surveys, and other services
- Travels as needed to perform appraisals (travel may be out of town and/or overnight)
- Accurately maintain CRM for new and assigned customers
- Generate scope of work on a project-by-project basis
- Follows up and is familiar with the outcome of all Energy Assessment jobs that are bid
- Join industry trade groups and attend trade shows as applicable/approved by management
- Prepare appraisal, and remediation proposal and submit to Manager for review
- Coordinate implantation plans for the remediation work
- Follows up with customers to ensure satisfaction
- Responsible to assist in the collection of receivables if requested
- Participate in the company's continuous improvement process
- Attends continuous education opportunities to ensure continued competency
- Supports the company safety programs
- Exhibits a spirit of cooperation and teamwork with all of the organization, ensuring that all communication is handled promptly, thoroughly, and with courtesy.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability and willingness to travel up to approximately 60% of the time

Burns & McDonnell is searching for well-rounded and driven senior level Electrical Engineers with a focus on Energy Storage. The Energy Storage team focuses on renewable power generation and storage in both the utility-scale market and the commercial/industrial market and offers a wide range of design and project execution experiences. Services include initial battery sizing, use case evaluation, and technology selection to full detailed design. Current projects range in size from 1MW to 500MW with interconnection voltages from 480V to 500kV and include both standalone storage and storage plus other renewables such as wind and solar.

Evaluating energy storage technology and providing guidance for clients on the best technology for the application.

Perform marketing, project development, and proposal development for energy storage projects.

Preparing engineering cost and man-hour estimates and schedules.

Performing Project Management duties on energy storage consulting projects.

Performing Lead Engineer duties on multi-discipline energy storage construction projects.

Provide leadership, guidance, instruction, and mentorship to less experienced team members.

Preparing or directing the creation of construction documents for the installation of energy storage facility electrical systems.

Developing or directing the creation of equipment specifications, procurement, and factory acceptance testing of batteries, inverters, battery enclosures, and other miscellaneous equipment associated with energy storage projects.

Coordinating project design assignments and design teams locally and with other office locations.

Provide guidance and field engineering support to construction and startup personnel during construction and commissioning.

This position requires approximately 20% travel to client offices and field project sites. Some travel may be overseas.

Work experience which demonstrates progressive design and management responsibilities as well as knowledge of construction and commissioning of engineered designs.

Has experience with design scope development, budget preparation and project execution, meeting schedule requirements and maintaining established budgets.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program.

Or Bachelor of Science in Electrical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.

Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering a plus.

7 years electrical engineering experience. EPC project experience preferred.

Professional Engineering License (PE) preferred.

Experience with energy storage in both utility-scale and/or large industrial facilities, including the following design types, is strongly preferred: battery technology/chemistry selection, battery sizing, one-line development, site arrangements, inverter selection, cable ampacity calculations, grounding, protective relaying and associated systems design and construction administration.

Software experience utilizing SKM Power Tools, ETAP, or similar software is preferred.

Field construction and commissioning experience is preferred.

Excellent written & verbal communication, as well as strong analytical & problem-solving skills, are required.

Previous consulting engineering experience preferred.

A focus of your work would be agency advocacy for wholesale and retail energy markets that are effectively competitive without subsidies, such as for power plant capacity, for bringing Ohio consumers the benefits of lower prices and greater innovation. Additionally, the work would include protecting Ohio consumers through regulation from subsidy charges and other unreasonable charges for electric transmission and capacity service.The focus in retail markets would include protection of consumers from deceptive energy marketing and unconscionable prices.
The Federal-State Energy Analyst would be a liaison on behalf of the agency at the Consumer Advocates of the PJM States (CAPS), the National Association of State Utility Consumer Advocates (NASUCA), and PJM, among other organizations.
Applicants must have a minimum of eight years of experience in utility regulation.This experience should include familiarity with federal and state electric policy, electric wholesale and retail markets, transmission regulatory issues, and fundamentals of utility regulation.

Acts as the single point of contact for all Energy Isolation activities across the project. Has the authority to stop all unsafe work practices with respect to energy isolation.
Oversees and assures the overall compliance of Energy Isolation Program and establish acceptance criteria for client's campus Energy Isolation Plan (Commencement of Energy Isolation Activities with updates throughout the project):
Confirms Authorizing and Performing Roles are in place.
Ensures approval process for proposed Energy Isolation procedures is in place.
Audits and findings to include inspections, issues, deficiencies, and best practices within the Energy Isolation Program.
Ensure all entities are performing energy isolation per standardized policy and procedure.

Perform regular site walks and site inspections to observe progress, review construction vs. design intent, review all benchmarking to ensure standard and quality are met, and flag potential concerns for engineering review.
Ability to develop and implement additional procedures to enhance pre-energization process.
Ensure safe working conditions have been established by reviewing documentation (including procedures, job hazard analysis, and permits) and auditing the energy program for construction, commissioning, maintenance, and operations activities.
Review construction drawings, specifications, design guides/standards, sequences of operation, and commissioning documents for technical compliance.
Identify and assist in the mitigation of project risks and monitor the development and implementation of corrective action plans - manage Non-Conformance Reports and resolution.
Participate in High-Risk Activity (HRA) planning meetings associated with Energy Isolation.
Ensure all sources of energy are identified.
Ensures all relevant documentation has been performed, reviewed and all sources of energy are identified. This would include post-turnover documentation.
Work with construction and commissioning teams to ensure safe working conditions to properly test and validate installation, operation, and performance of MEP systems.
Ensure process established for energy isolation verifies qualifications, training, and PPE requirements for personnel performing work.
Coordinate with appropriate entities to delegate alternates that are qualified to assume roles during multi-shift and peak energization time frames.
Participate in daily/weekly meetings and site walks with subcontractors and clients.
Verify / Validate the processes and execution for determination of individual or group LOTO, including the processes for centralized LOTO and integration with all site entities.
Verify / Validate and coordinate with and applicable contractors the energy isolation assurance process, including the identification and plan to close gaps identified with assurance audits.
Establishes and manages an Energy Isolation assurance process and works with site teams to close any gaps identified in assurance audits.
Support the change management process in providing clarification and guidance on questions regarding scope, justification, and technical detail.
Partner closely with Environmental, Health, and Safety teams to drive operational excellence in all aspects of the Control of Hazardous Energy.
Promote a culture of safety, security, and compliance in all aspects of Mission Critical activities.
Subject Matter Expert (SME) in all Energy Isolation incident investigations in area of responsibility.
Delegates alternates that are qualified to assume role during multi-shift and peak energization time frames.
Sharing best practices for issue management, quality management, and program management.
Implementing changes based on lessons learned to improve commissioning procedures and practices.
Generating monthly reports highlighting activities and general status of energized equipment and energy isolation program.
Job Requirements:
College/university/professional degree in Electrical, Industrial, Process Engineering, or related work experience.
5+ years of technical engineering experience with industrial or commercial field engineering in mission critical facilities and electrical infrastructures OR bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, or related field AND 2+ years of technical engineering experience OR master's degree in electrical engineering, or related field AND 1+ year(s) of technical engineering experience.
Fundamental understanding of National Electrical Code
Professional Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Process Engineering
10+ years of construction experience on multi-group, multi-disciplinary, projects; mission critical construction experience
Experience in the Control of Hazardous Energy in complex mission critical infrastructure
Ensure all individuals working on energized or locked out equipment are Qualified Workers based on NFPA 70E, OSHA, or an equivalent qualified electrical safety training standard.
Ability to organize, lead, and schedule pre-energization meetings energizing or deenergizing major pieces of equipment.
Confirm and review LOTO plans for all electrical work in the construction space and are incorporated into daily work plans.
Ensure completion of all inspection processes prior to energization.
Construction training - OSHA 30 and current 1st Aid CPR/AED certification.
Complete NFPA 70E training on Electrical Safety Related Work practices
Strong experience related to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and installations with an emphasis on building electrical systems (Power distribution, Paralleling switchgear, redundant UPS systems, DC battery strings, multi-source electrical utility switchgear, standby diesel generators, lighting, grounding, fire alarm, security, life safety, and controls systems)
Practical experience with building management systems and automation, controls & frameworks.
Established understanding of electrical theory and practical application via your maintenance & operation of critical electrical equipment. (Paralleling switchgear, redundant UPS systems, DC battery strings, multi-source electrical utility switchgear, standby diesel generators, etc.)
Knowledge of construction techniques, terminology, and documentation (blueprints, electrical one-lines, construction drawings etc.)
Ability to interpret line drawings and system redundancies to ensure design of LOTO systems is 100% effective and in compliance with OSHA and clients standards.
Knowledgeable in major regulations, industry codes and standards as well as construction materials, means, and methods
