What you'll do.
We are seeking a highly experienced and technically profound Engine Performance Development Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in driving our most challenging projects, bringing expertise in engine performance, calibration, and system integration. You will be instrumental in diagnosing and resolving complex issues, guiding development across diverse platforms (e.g., Mustang, Raptor, Bronco, Ranger, Maverick), and mentoring other engineers. If you are a problem-solver who enjoys getting into the weeds of calibration data, tackling hardware/software integration puzzles, and ensuring our products meet the highest standards, this is the role for you.
You'll have.
Bachelor's degree in engineering or similar discipline.
10+ years in engine design, development, and performance calibration.
6 years focused on engine development/mapping.

Deep technical expertise in gasoline direct injection (GDI) and/or turbocharged engine combustion systems, evidenced by successful project delivery and complex problem resolution.
Hands-on experience with engine and vehicle dynamometer testing, including advanced data acquisition and analysis (e.g., ATI, MF4 data).
Strong working knowledge of engine control unit (ECU) calibration tools and methodologies, including an understanding of embedded software logic and its impact on engine behavior.
Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve complex, multi-disciplinary engine issues, spanning hardware, software, and calibration.
Experience with regulatory compliance processes (e.g., CARB) and associated documentation.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of bridging technical gaps between diverse teams (e.g., wiring, software, product planning, suppliers).
Ability to manage multiple active items, prioritize effectively, and adapt to rapidly evolving project needs.
Direct experience with Ford engine architectures (Coyote, EcoBoost) and vehicle platforms (Mustang, Raptor, Bronco, Ranger, Maverick).
Experience with engine instrumentation and sensor integration (e.g., turbo speed sensors, emulated modules).
Working knowledge of JIRA or similar project tracking systems for task management and progress tracking.
Prior experience managing supplier relationships for critical components

Engine Design & Systems Integration (EDSI) is a dynamic Systems Engineering organization focused on development and certification of commercial, military, and industrial gas turbine engines. **Job Summary:**
The F135 Engine Core Update (ECU) Program consists of F-35 propulsion/engine modernization to meet aircraft upgraded Block-4 capability requirements.
Within the F135 ECU Program, the Engine Design & Systems Integration (ED&SI) is a dynamic engineering organization focused on the development and certification of military, commercial and industrial gas turbine engines. The Engine Design & Systems Integration (EDSI) organization is responsible for the integration of components, modules and sub-systems into world class commercial and military propulsion systems. This includes engine performance, operability, system level modeling and simulation, validation and verification of performance and operability requirements, and functional engine and air vehicle systems integration. ED&SI also defines engine architecture, system and structural design as well as manages all requirements across the program.
This position offers the candidate an excellent opportunity to build technical leadership in the aero-thermal analysis of air breathing propulsion systems. In addition, it offers an opportunity to work with the P&W's engineering development team experts while also leading less experienced employees.
+ Technical ownership of the modeling of engine components for engine performance and operability analysis, including performance system matching, engine component assessments, performance and operability predictions, technical system audits, and control schedule definition integration.
+ Creating, maintaining, and utilizing NPSS aero-thermal modeling code as a representation of the engine and other systems. Responsible for troubleshooting model convergence and for general model health.
+ Active participation in SA Discipline improvement activities and knowledge management.
+ Frequent interaction and integration work with other EDSI's Systems Analysis Groups, Module Centers, Controls, Instrumentation, IT and Hardware and Product Validation Groups to ensure that the propulsion system satisfies requirements.
+ Technical presentations to SIPT, EDSIT and internal and external customers.
+ Technical requirements development, definition and management.
**Qualifications You Must Have:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or related technical field and Minimum 5+ years of engineering experience or an Advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3+ years of experience
+ Competent with one or more of the following engineering disciplines or skills: Thermodynamics and engine performance/operability, gas dynamics, aircraft performance, statistics, functional integration, aerospace systems testing, and software design.
+ Practical experience with systems analysis tools (e.g. Python, NPSS and C++ related programming language) is desired.
+ 1 year+ Agile experience.
+ The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.

The Electrical Power and Control Systems (EPCS) Department within the Undersea Systems Office (USO) of the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State University is seeking motivated and talented Electrical Propulsion and Power Systems (EPPS) engineers to join our teams. You will take part with multidisciplinary engineering teams in the development of cutting edge electric and hybrid electric propulsion and power systems for undersea vehicles including design and control of energy storage systems, integration of electric motor and controllers, power management, and laboratory/field testing for Department of Defense and related applications.

You Will:
Drive the full life cycle design and development process to identify competitive, efficient and elegant electric and hybrid electric propulsion systems and sub-systems
Participate in system requirements identification, flow-down, and functional allocation
Execute detailed design stages including early design and development processes (market surveys, analysis of alternatives, interface control documents, functional design documents, and test plans/reports) followed by design reviews, design acceptance and documentation packages
Capture approved hardware designs using state of the art CAD tools and then demonstrate the design satisfies the identified requirements and expectations during large scale system integration exercises and requirement verification stages
Test EPPS designs by applying advanced hardware-in-the-loop test methods to support integration with larger systems of systems
Support laboratory and field testing of prototype EPPS to demonstrate final design
This position can be filled at multiple levels, depending upon your education and experience.Minimally requires a Bachelor's Degree; Master's Degree preferred. Additional experience and/or education and competencies may be required for higher levels.

This role focuses on business attraction, partnership facilitation, and commercialization support for technologies and companies seeking to expand or relocate to the region.
The ASCEND Engine is a transformative opportunity to competitively position Colorado and Wyoming collectively as a hub for Advanced Sensing and Computing for Environmental Decision-making facilitating the growth of technologies in Aerospace, Quantum and High-Performance Computing, AI, IoT, Autonomous Technologies, and more. These technologies enable the unlock of real-time, computing and analysis intensive applications ranging from wildfire-response and mitigation, air quality monitoring, water quality and resource management, and soil health for a myriad of industries including Defense, National, Regional, Corporate, and Private landowners, Utilities, and Agriculture, Municipalities, among others.

Partnership Development

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Experience & Skills
