The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.
Candidate will perform engineering work in preparation for assembly, test, processing, and launch of NASA's Space Launch System in support of the Artemis program.
-Conduct system tests, collect and analyze data on equipment performance. Troubleshoot equipment/system anomalies.
-Initial assignments will focus on development of Work Authorization Documents to process, test and launch the SLS Rocket.
-Candidates will be required to apply knowledge of technical principles, vehicle processing operations concepts, ground to vehicle interfaces, and vehicle/ground system design and operation. Additional responsibilities in system training, vehicle processing, and launch certification will follow.
-Candidate will be expected to accomplish testing & operations independently, and act as Task Team Leader for assignments involving Main Propulsion Systems and Engines.
-Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. -Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Level 1: Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering or technical equivalent from an accredited institution.

**Physical Requirement**

The anticipated pay range for this position is $62,800 - $100,800 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary based on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate's qualifications and the business context.
In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver qualified propellant feed and management systems by working closely with propulsion, fluids, and thermal engineering teams
  • Own the development, sourcing, and qualification of lightweight propellant storage hardware in partnership with internal fluids teams and external suppliers
  • Lead technical engagement with suppliers and designers developing propulsion hardware including ACS components, valves, and related subsystems
  • Build internal propulsion qualification campaigns and test infrastructure to evaluate system and vehicle performance
  • Rapidly prototype next-generation concepts to enable scalable vehicle architectures, including in-space propellant management and refueling
Basic Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience developing, integrating, or testing propulsion, fluid, or pressure systems for aerospace or other high-reliability hardware platform
  • Hands‑on support of hardware qualification, integration, or development testing for aerospace or similar systems
  • Direct experience working with suppliers or external partners to test and deliver technical hardware components
  • Familiarity with propellant storage, fluid handling, or pressure system hardware such as tanks, valves, and regulators in development of spacecraft or similar systems
Preferred skills & Experience
  • Systems‑level understanding of spacecraft propulsion systems and their impact on vehicle design and operations

**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Lead planning, scheduling, and execution of development and sustainment projects to meet scope, schedule, and cost targets.

**YOU MUST HAVE**
+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering or mathematics
+ Minimum 6 years of experience in design, development and/or test of gas turbine engines, nacelle systems, engine control systems or other complex mechanical systems.
