About the Position:
Dollar General Fleet is currently hiring diesel technicians! This position ensures all trucks, trailers, and yard tractors are in working order and are compliant with federal standards. The distribution center is located at 2505 East Pointe Drive, Zanesville, OH 43701.

Requirements:
- At least one (1) year of experience working on Class A trucks
- Experience working with air brakes, hydraulic & electrical systems
- Prior welding and fabrication experience required
- Tire repair experience (repair, mounting, dismounting) preferred
- Perform DOT inspections and compliancy
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair truck and trailer components such as doors, floors, side panels, electrical and air brake systems
- Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) on tractor and trailer equipment, including routine technical repairs and completing repair orders
- Perform maintenance repairs as required to maximize safety and reliability on all fleet vehicles including tractors, trailers, lift-gates, and any company-owned equipment
- Abide by all Company policies and safety rules and assist in maintaining a clean, safe work environment
- Assist drivers with addressing outstanding vehicle issues
- Maintain repairs for Class 8 trucks, trailers and yard tractors
- Safely operates gauges, forklifts, shunt trucks, torches, grinders, and various hand and power safety tools

**Machine Repair** are paid a top hourly base rate of $43.80, plus applicable shift, overtime, and holiday premiums. The starting rate for this position is $3.60 with pay increases to the top rate upon completion of three consecutive months of employment.

Tasks will require a certain amount of reaching, lifting, twisting, bending, and use of a PMHV or hilo. Ability to perceive differences in details and prints related to trade. Must be able to effectively maneuver about vehicles, equipment, assembly lines or stations, and about facility.
Candidates must have completed a bona fide apprenticeship, or have 8 years of previous experience, or have a combination of previous work experience and training equivalent to a bona fide apprenticeship program in the trade.
Knowledge of machine mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, gauge/fixture movement, blueprint reading, (welding and fabrication) operation of machine tools used to make, modify and/or repair machine components. Experienced in maintaining and repairing (presses-CNC Machines,) robots, and (secondary) automated equipment, and will be knowledgeable in (electrical,) mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic disciplines. Electrical controls awareness a plus.
Successful completion of a job interview, pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check are required. Drug panel does not include THC.
