The Facilities Engineer maintains and operates the building systems and associated equipment during both day-to-day operations and during events.
This position reports directly to the Director of Operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Operate, monitor, and maintain the environmental controls, emergency power, electrical, HVAC, lighting, and other building systems as required for the safe and efficient operation of the facilities.
- Performs preventive maintenance in accordance with manufacturers recommendations.
- Repair, rebuild or replace various items, such as electric motors, combustion engines, compressors, and pumps, etc.
- Operates auxiliary supply systems when necessary, including but not limited to generators, battery backup systems, automatic transfer switches, fire pumps, etc.
- Follows energy management program, standard operating procedures, and safety procedures for all machinery and equipment.
- Record and log all work performed, complete work orders and compile all required reports in a timely and efficient manner.
- Assist during Arena/Stadium conversions from concerts, ice shows, sporting events and other configurations as needed.
- Coordinates shutdown and start-ups of utilities when necessary.
- Works with outside vendors and contractors in maintenance and repair of building systems and equipment.
- Ensures compliance with Cal/OSHA, OSHA, NFPA and all other applicable laws and regulations.
- Operates equipment, such as industrial trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, scrubbing machines or other power-driven equipment.

**Principal Duties and Responsibilities**
+ Develop and maintain project schedules
+ Create and manage design submittals, RFI's and change orders
+ Work with the Quality Control manager to create, review and edit required quality control documents
+ Manage designers, subcontractors and vendors to ensure required design & installation information (is provided correctly and on-time.
+ Review subcontractor & engineering performance and provide feedback to the Project Manager.
+ Coordinates purchase of necessary supplies, equipment and services from appropriate sources and maintains proper inventory control, maintenance and consumable supplies.
+ Authority to review and approve design submittals to ensure compliance.
**Job Specifications** (incl. Education requirements, minimal experience, computer skills required, etc.)
+ Bachelor's Degree in engineering, construction management, business management, or relevant experience.
+ 3+ years working experience in HVAC or building controls.
+ Must have knowledge of submitting written proposals, scopes of work, scheduling and coordinating site contractors and other assigned personnel; a thorough understanding of operations and the ability to meet demanding customer requirements.
+ Must have strong verbal and listening communication skills and excellent telephone etiquette as well as professional friendly demeanor.
+ Proven ability to multi-task and handle a high volume of work with extreme accuracy and adjust to changing priorities.
+ The ability to anticipate needs and solve job related problems independently and act with appropriate urgency.

**About California High Speed Rail- CP1**

The California High-Speed Rail Authority's Construction Package 1 (CP1) is the first significant construction contract executed on the Initial Operating Section of the High-Speed Rail project in California's Central Valley.
The CP1 construction area is a 32-mile stretch between Avenue 19 in Madera County to East American Avenue in Fresno County, including major work elements in downtown Fresno. It includes 12 roadway / railroad grade separations, two mainline viaducts, one tunnel, realignments of existing railroad tracks, utility relocations, roadway relocations, two trench sections, and a major river crossing over the San Joaquin River.

**Description**
As a **Field Engineer** at TPZP JV, reporting to **the Project Manager,** you will have the opportunity to:
+ Review project plans and develops a construction schedule in coordination with project-wide activities.
+ Coordinate with subcontractors on advance material acquisitions and pre-construction deliverables
+ Develops/ assist with obtaining quotes and draft contracts to meet project requirements.
+ Prepare construction work plan packages and coordinates pre-construction meetings while ensuring that all prerequisites to start construction activities are identified and completed.
+ Prepare, updates and distributes work activity schedules/updates, and communicates across discipline groups and agencies to ensure proper advance notifications and coordination of start times.
+ Monitor and participates daily in field construction process. Provides layout checks and technical reviews of work against requirements. Obtains confirmations from design engineer as needed
+ Assist with subcontract administration and permanent material suppliers through monitoring of correspondence, submittals, RFI's, and performance records; Maintains accurate payment records.
+ Assist in preparing monthly reporting for progress payments, schedule updates, and problem/issue tracking and resolution. Provides accurate and factual assessments of project performance.
+ Participate in change orders and claims management
+ Develop and manages relationships with owners, subcontractors, consultants and field personnel
+ Maintains a safe, clean and productive environment through enforcing procedures.
+ Maintains project integrity and reputation through compliance with high standards of workplace safety and construction best practices
+ Identify and resolves changing site conditions or other impacts during planning of the work
+ Coordinate-and attends pre-bid and construction meetings
+ Develop quality checks and coordinate permits from appropriate entities
+ Assist in preparing crossing applications and work plans, assuring quality control, etc. by subcontractor
+ Manage and submits project close-out in coordination with the client and third parties
**Requirements:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management from an accredited institution
+ 5 or more years of experience on Heavy Civil projects
+ Knowledge of construction safety and current federal & OSHA Requirements.
+ Project controls techniques (i.e. cost accounting, basic estimating, forecasting, and contracts)
+ A strong working knowledge of critical path method, resource scheduling is preferred.
+ Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, Primavera P6 is a plus.
+ Strong organizational and time management skills.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
+ Strong work ethic - Highly motivated and willing to do what it takes to get the job done right.
+ The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
