+ **Leadership & Guidance:** Provides guidance and exercises judgment and discretion in providing guidance and direction to other Engineers. Leads, facilitates and coordinates work activities of others within the work group, team, department, corporate entity, or those external to the company as required to perform all routine engineering work. Ensures all work activities are performed in accordance with the policies, practices, standards and rules of the company and complies with the regulations and procedures required by external agencies. Promotes engineering professionalism and standards. Coordinates and conducts training sessions.
+ **Planning & Organization Ability** : Participates in the development of plans by establishing measurable goals, objectives and requirements for specific areas of responsibility. Coordinates the development of input necessary to establish projected cost of all projects. Is proficient in use of scheduling techniques (CPM, PERT, flow charts, etc.) for budget and planning activities. Identifies and initiates appropriate corrective action when objectives are not being met.
+ **Problem Solving & Initiative:** Identifies, clarifies, resolves, and initiates solutions to routine and/or complex problems that sometimes involve analysis of inadequate or conflicting data. THE OPPORTUNITY

Coordinates schedules and implementing activities for the Distribution function, that include overseeing personnel, directing operations and following-up on transactions, to ensure department standards and the Regulations are observed. Manages sterilization, returned goods, receipt, storage and transaction of finished goods in accordance with validated procedures. Ensures that customer orders are processed quickly and accurately to meet Division standards.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • As a Validation Engineer, you’ll have the chance to create and implement the Abbott Division validation program. Creates and maintains validation documentation for new and existing systems and processes subject to design control. Ensures that validation activities are implemented for systems and processes used to manufacture, control and store intermediates and finished products to requirements and standards as listed in the current Quality Systems Manual.

  • Ensure that change control and validation activities are executed in a timely manner while following all Abbott Nutrition Policies and Standards.

  • Lead and support Design Qualification processes including: Installation / Operational Qualification (IOQ), Performance Qualification (PQ) , System Impact Assessments (SIA), Project Validation Plan (PVP), Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), and User Requirement Specifications (URS) for new installations or major changes.

  • Strong understanding and implementation of the CAPA management system

  • Develop, execute and review FDA validation protocols and related documentation in accordance with procedures and policies

  • Support resolution of validation events and escalate concerns in a timely manner

  • Comply to all FDA policies and standards

  • Use M-Files to house all validation and control documentation

  • Any other requests as assigned by supervisor

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor’s Degree , preferred degree in engineering or technical field.

  • 1-3+ years' work experience in Quality, Validation, Engineering manufacturing, food industry, or industries with similar levels of regulatory oversight such as laboratory diagnostics, medical devices, pharmaceutical, etc.

  • Understanding of Design Control, Good Documentation Practices (GDP), and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). Familiarity with GAMP5 and FDA’s Computer Software Assurance initiatives are preferred.

  • Experienced in protocol writing and execution, closure of validation activities such as Installation / Operational Qualification (IOQ), Performance Qualification (PQ)

  • Ability to execute findings and develop project scope for execution.

  • Drive to lead projects and understand project timelines.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in an FDA regulated environment.

POSITION OVERVIEW SECTION

Shall enhance and maintain the cybersecurity posture of MMO products and services, to include AFSIM. The contractor shall advise or assist in developing a comprehensive assurance strategy to continuously identify and mitigate potential security vulnerabilities or weaknesses and promote a secure software development lifecycle.

Essential Job Functions

Cybersecurity Awareness

  • Conduct training sessions to promote secure software development practices and raise awareness among developers about vulnerabilities, weaknesses, and exploits that pertain to relevant programming languages, technologies, libraries, or platforms.

Cybersecurity Strategy

  • Advise or assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of a secure software development approach capable of satisfying diverse cybersecurity risk profiles (i.e., across managed DoD networks and classification domains). This approach should balance assurance with speed, promote a secure by design paradigm, and provide the necessary evidence to underwrite a continuous Authority to Operate (cATO)

Continuous Monitoring

  • Implement continuous monitoring to maintain DoD enterprise software certifications or Certificates to Field (CtFs). These certifications streamline the approval to use MMO products and services on enterprise DoD information networks to include NIPR, DREN, SIPR, SDREN, JWICS, and SAP networks

Monitor codebase changes as part of automated quality gates

  • Perform security audits to ensure the sufficiency of both manual and automated practices and procedures
  • Monitor third-party libraries for emerging vulnerabilities and weaknesses, particularly those vulnerabilities as identified in the public Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) list
  • Participate in critical design or code reviews and inspections.

Vulnerability or Weakness Remediation

  • Advise or assist in the tracking and remediation of potential vulnerabilities and weaknesses associated with MMO products or services
  • Perform security impact assessments and communicate risk to stakeholders through Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) channels

Incident Management and Response

  • Advise or assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of a cyber incident management and response plan
  • Coordinate MMO response activities during training events, tabletop exercises, or real-world incidents

Continuous Authorization and Compliance

  • Advise or assist in the preparation and generation of required cybersecurity assessment and/or authorization documentation related to MMO products and services
  • Engage with enterprise processes or coordinate with Authorizing Officials (AOs), as required to secure appropriate product certifications or certificates to field

Operating Engineer

Responsible to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment and systems for the assigned property(s). Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) maintaining a clean and safe working environment, performing rounds, conducting routine assessments, performance of day-to-day preventive and corrective maintenance, painting, and housekeeping for assigned properties

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

  • Perform all plumbing, electrical, or HVAC requirements of the building(s)
  • Maintain heating equipment, chillers (air and/ or water cooled), DX units, pumps, cooling towers, fan coil units, VAV, and air distribution systems, etc.
  • Monitor and adjust all mechanical/pneumatic equipment, steam stations, control gauges, distributor panels, valves, thermostats, diffusers, and other equipment necessary to provide a comfortable environment for the buildings
  • Verify field conditions and perform any necessary repairs or adjustments
  • Monitor Energy Management
  • Repair doors, ceilings, hand railings, and floors and other general repairs, adjustments and installations about the property
  • Perform repairs to plumbing fixtures (water closets, urinals, flush valve assemblies, lavatories, etc.)
  • Perform preventive maintenance duties in accordance with C&W standards, building protocol, manufacturer recommendations and industry best practices.
  • Inspect engine room equipment, fan room equipment, cooling tower, all motors, house pumps, electric rooms, back-up generator, fire pump(s), sump pump(s), and ejector pumps.
  • Replace lamps, light fixtures, reinstall or replace signage, verify rooms are clean and clear of obstructions and debris
  • Check for properly operating emergency exit signs and lights and ensure free and clear access to emergency stairs and exits
  • Perform additional fire and life safety inspections as per NFPA and local jurisdiction, C&W standards, building protocol and as directed by superiors and property management
  • Document and report activities to supervisor
  • Respond immediately to emergency situations (fire, evacuation, equipment failure, etc.) and customer concerns
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives as relates to building operations and practice safe work habits
  • Complete all required C&W Safety Training as scheduled annually
  • Comply with C&W Uniform Dress Code while working and maintain a neat and clean appearance while on the property at times other than working hours
