OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Engineering Drawing Checker role is a key part of the company’s leadership team and requires significant multi-tasking and exceptional communication skills across all aspects of the business. The Engineering Drawing Checker position is responsible for ensuring that all technical drawings meet stringent quality standards and compliance requirements before they move into the production phase. The qualified candidate will need to meticulously review blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to reduce the risk of costly errors and enhance the overall integrity of engineering projects. The ideal candidate should have the knowledge of mechanical and electrical aerospace design practices.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
- Examine and verify engineering drawings for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards and project specifications.
- Identify and correct errors, omissions, or discrepancies in drawings.
- Collaborate with engineers and designers to resolve drawing issues.
- Maintain updated records of drawing revisions and approvals.
- Utilize specialized software to review and edit drawings.
- Participate in the development and implementation of quality control procedures for drawings.
- Provide feedback and recommendations for improving drawing accuracy and clarity.
- Assist in the training of engineers or new associates on drawing standards.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure ongoing compliance with quality standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- BS Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems), drafting, or a related field.
- 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Experience in CAD software and other design tools
- Expert in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T)
- Ability to perform tolerance studies and fits including thermal considerations
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Experience with quality control procedures
- Expert in reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Ability to use design and drafting software proficiently
- Ability to identify and correct drawing errors effectively
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Assist Production with floor-level decision making, development of work processes and tools.

Maintain revision control on drawings and other controlled documents by utilizing PDM and ECO processes.

Document and communicate modifications to purchased devices (e.g. cranes, aerial devices, etc.) with manufacturer.

Conduct and/or source the supervision of testing of components and/or complete vehicles when required.

Generate manuals for designed equipment as required.

Utilize the Engineering Change process and Product Data Management system to control documents.
CERTIFICATES:
- Fluid Power Certification - Desired but not required.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Agricultural or Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology

Or 5 years of applicable experience in an engineering capacity.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.

Possess the ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of organization.

Position Title: Design Engineer
Location: St. Charles, MO
Position Summary: The Design Engineer will be responsible for engineering development and design of products that meet technical specifications and achieve cost and schedule objectives. The Design Engineer will strive to create designs that encompass manufacturability and assembly simplicity while including usage of standard materials and general manufacturing tolerances. This may also entail being the technical leader of specific projects utilizing accurate MO's. This position will interface with other engineering resources and the functional areas of sales, production, quality, and purchasing/materials.
Job Responsibilities:
- Create 3D model geometry and associated mechanical and A&E drawings.
- Assist in improvement of product designs and overall finished product quality.
- Assist in Customer meetings, conference calls, and site visits, as required.
- Provide fabrication and construction oversight.
- Assume engineering lead role for the development of components and sub-systems.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
- 2 - 4 years large assembly design and development experience.
- Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS and AutoCAD or equivalent.
- Knowledge of ASME Y14.100 and reference standards, and AWS D1.1 and 1.2.
- Proficiency in MSOffice applications.
- Ability to independently troubleshoot issues, while recognizing when to escalate problems.
- Ability to remain organized with very strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing project needs and priorities.
- A collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn new tools and processes.
- Must demonstrate a consistent and stable work history, along with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- 1 - 2 years project management experience in a custom engineering and manufacturing environment
- 1 - 2 years custom truck, 5th wheel and/or drawbar, or RV design and development experience.
- Working knowledge of IBC, IMC, IPC, NFPA 70, NFPA 101.
- FEA experience using SOLIDWORKS Simulation or equivalent.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Required to stand, walk, and use hands.
- Must be able to position self to move, bend, and lift up to 75-lbs.
- Ascend/descend on ladders and move around /within custom mobile solutions.
- Required use of fingers and hands to operate a computer.
- Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to travel and manage project at remote locations as needed is required (~3%).
