**Description:** Our facility in Highlands Ranch/Littleton CO has an immediate opportunity for an experienced project planner for the GeoXO program with a focus on detailed execution of engineering. Be a part of the most cutting-edge technology in Space. Our team helps plan and schedule Lockheed Martin's new and emerging technologies. You will work closely with Program Planning, Engineers, and CAMs to develop the Program Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and detailed supplemental schedules to track and manage engineering releases for spacecraft and spacecraft assemblies to meet program deadlines. This position will be mostly onsite (3x per week), based on program needs. You will be challenged with leading other Engineering Planners and developing the bench strength within the organization through knowledge transfer while architecting and maintaining detailed engineering schedules, driving accountability, analyzing critical paths, and reporting various engineering health metrics and KPI's.
Summary of Key Duties: In this role you will..
- Architect detailed, logic-based engineering release plans and supplemental schedules in Microsoft Project in support of the IMS.
- Functions as a lead for multiple Engineering Planners. Exerts influence at the higher levels of the Program and organization.
- Work closely with Engineers and Engineering CAMs to develop credible and executable schedules and release plans. Drives accountability and influences stakeholders at senior management levels.
- Work closely with Program Planning to help develop the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
- Primary POC Engineering Planning during the proposal phase of a Program and help develop the Engineering planning Concept of Operations for the program, provide inputs for Basis of Estimates and architect early supplemental schedules.
- Collaborate with Program Planning and Operations Planning counterparts frequently to maintain vertical and horizontal schedule traceability across the Program as part of the Demand Management process.

**Basic Qualifications:**

Key Role:
Support the execution of a space launch infrastructure roadmap to meet the client's vision. Support engineering efforts, evaluate project planning and programming documents, and design documents. Advise on project feasibility, cost effectiveness, regulatory conformance, or possible alternatives. Conduct field investigations or research to compile and analyze data. Work closely with the Environmental Assessment Lead to aid in developing NEPA and other environmental review documents, as well as support the design and construction contractors with the acquisition of environmental permits. Augment the project management support sections of space launch by performing project planning and programming support duties, including programmatic support in formulating and implementing facility planning and capital investment initiatives for DoD military construction projects such as program development and support, DD Form 1391 development and reviews, strategic facilities planning and management, feasibility studies, and general program and project implementation. Provide direct interface and frequent communications with government points of contact and be responsible for advising the designated points of contact of the status of the work. Manage the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of physical infrastructures. Ensure compliance with relevant building codes and safety regulations. Apply extensive technical expertise and full industry knowledge. Develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Work without considerable direction. Mentor and may supervise team members.
Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of experience with civil engineering project management with planning and programming assistance to client programs geared towards strategic facilities planning, capital investment planning, and construction program management
Experience working with the NEPA process
Knowledge of facilities operations and maintenance
Ability to work directly with clients applying principles of the civil engineering enterprise, including policy and guidance
Ability to be highly motivated and demonstrate a dynamic work ethic and desire to contribute to the mission
Ability to use Microsoft SharePoint and Teams in a collaborative environment
Ability to prepare and deliver presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint

The National Airspace Systems Integration Support (NISC) program at Leidos is excited to welcome an Engineering Planning and Documentation Specialist to our team. In this dynamic role, you will have the opportunity to contribute significantly by preparing high-profile business intelligence documents for FAA senior leaders and external groups. This position supports the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Engineering Services Group and is a valuable opportunity to be part of the NISC mission.
Your role will be crucial in advancing the FAA's Legacy Infrastructure to Future Technologies (LIFT) Portfolio, particularly in the transition from TDM to IP connectivity within the National Airspace. You'll engage with various critical projects, including Telecommunications Infrastructure Replacement and NEXCOM Radios.
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, enabling effective interaction with a diverse array of stakeholders, including Engineering Services and Air Traffic Operations. Teamwork and collaboration will be vital in ensuring the success of our deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support documentation efforts by maintaining records of design changes, tracking project statuses, and documenting risks and action items, ensuring alignment with airspace and procedures initiatives.
- Transform concepts into tangible documentation and products.
- Prepare detailed monthly reports on project developments including meeting notes and participant attendance, to keep stakeholders informed through regular meetings.
- Conduct thorough data gathering and analysis, develop insightful reports, establish project schedules, and perform studies as needed.
- Exhibit clear and concise writing skills for general and technical documentation, creating impactful presentations and coordinating efficiently with various stakeholders.
- Accurately record important information during meetings (both in-person and virtual), translate this into organized minutes, and produce comprehensive reports.
- Utilize MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) proficiently and apply effective research techniques to support documentation tasks.
- Maintain organized documentation while being aware of general documentation practices.
Qualifications:
- Experience in conducting research, evaluations, and developing actionable recommendations for FAA clients.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Prior experience with technical documentation is essential.
- Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time.
- Possess a Bachelor's degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 2 years of experience. Additional relevant experience may compensate for formal education.
- Eligible to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance (applicants must be U.S. Citizens or U.S. Permanent Residents who have resided in the USA for the past 3 of 5 years without breaks).

**What you'll bring:**
+ Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, engineering, or related field, with minimum 12+ years of experience in software development and at least 5+ years of experience in managing engineering teams.
+ Have prior experience in managing high performing agile technology teams.
+ Hands on experience building Java-Python based backend systems and React front end is a must, and experience of working in cloud based solutions is desirable
+ A good understanding of CS Fundamentals, Microservices, Data Structures, Algorithms & Problem Solving

Summary Statement
This position is assigned to the Transportation Management Center (TMC) a 24-hour planning, engineering, and transportation operations facility. This position will be responsible for the operation of multiple traffic control monitoring and information systems, incident and event planning, and general dispatching operations. The position requires rotational shift work to include nights, weekends, holidays and extended work hours during incidents or emergencies. Applicants can expect to work closely with the general public to field concerns and answer questions on behalf of the Department. This position is in a career ladder series that includes forward growth up to an EPS IV level.
